Very nice to explain which way to make your scarf, lloll good to see you have some problems just like us! Lol do as I say not as I do! And ta can't really see him just hear him rattle! There you did it again! Thank you for moving us over hear. That would a fun class to do. Thank you for sharing this whole video you are blessed thanks!
These flat rings open tons of projects if I can forge weld. Thanks. I just bought a shiny new rounding hammer that I really admire. The handle was just 'okay' and I figured it deserved a little TLC. So, I scraped the stickers off, really sanded it to death and applied a couple coats of Birchwod Casey TrueOil with just my fingertip, like spit shing a pair of boots. It looks like a wallhanger, but, I'll use it anyway. Not too slippery either. If were close by, I'd dye cotton twine your favourite color, and put twine whippings on your tool handles, instead of icky-sticky tape. Too much time for someone who works for a living I know. Cheers.
I keep telling myself to watch these videos the next day because when these are uploaded, its around 10-11 pm and i have school so i cant really watch them when they are uploaded, but thanks for the vids roy
Every time I hear that saying I can still remember me and my dad working on something trying to copy the way he did stuff, I understand why now, he wanted me to learn how to do things the right way 1st, before trying to do it my way! and we all know there's more than 1 way to do things (sometimes!) Now hammer handles, that's another thing altogether....
July eh? Hmmmm. Do as i say not as i do. Wooosaaa quit rushing we're still going to be here and watch even if ya got a seg out during heats...as long as you dont go telling nursery ryhmes lol!
Is it true that the sparking may not be present while in the fire but once you pull it out and expose it to oxygen you may get a small amount of sparking?
It looked like you had the scarfs the opposite way from how I've always seen them done, like they were reverses (top on bottom, leaving a gap between the toe and the the bar of steel it's getting welded into). Any reason for this? Seems like it'd just be inviting the toe to melt away, not to mention inclusions, and scale building in between.
Why dont you offset both ends prior to making the scarf? It would seem that would be better way not to ding up the scarf. But, until I know better, I will attempt to do as you say, not as you do.
Looks to me like your fire needs to be taller and hotter…too much oxygen hitting the steel surfaces. The weld seam should be forged to stock size and blended to a point where it’s difficult to detect with the eye. Less oxygen, taller fire, and more heat will give you better stronger welds.
I just recently Is successfully forgewelded and its thanks to you iv been over thinking it the whole time and just wanted to say thank you
Awesome to hear! Congratulations 👏 Glad to help
Do as I say, not as I do, thanks Roy excellent as always
I enjoy your work and videos

I know what you said but I ended up doing as you did, funny how that works out sometimes.
Don't do as I do, do as I say, nice little weld mate.
Do as I say, not as I do. Great video Roy.

Do as i say not as i do always wondered what drop forging was im good at it lol
Do as I say not as I do lol another great video in the books. I am really anxious to see all the welds complete a project
My dad's favorite saying, haven't tried forge welding yet, but I have tried to make that perfect circle, grrrr and that was more than once. Drops lol
Your circle came out great I am still working on that. Great Job!! Do as I say, not as I do!! Except being hard on your hammer handles. Wayne
I broke a indestructible handle on my favorite hammer. I was devastated
Do as I say, not as I do. Great advice I've heard that many many times lol
Do as I say, not as I do, otherwise, it'll turn out all whopperjaw... Love ya, Roy. God's blessings on y'all!
Nice job
Do as I say not as I do, boy that's on old statement. I wish that I could do. Such is life eventually I can do
Great video Roy as always thanks again and I appreciate everything you do for all of us
Do As Roy Says Not as Roy does hehehhe Anyway try to learn from his gifted experise
I am a car salesman. I met you at quad state
Hammer handles soak the head in oil or water over night once a week swells the shaft tightens it up again.
Do as I say, not as I do.

And to think I have been dropping things 5 or 6 times for luck, and it only takes once, now I know.he he.

Very interesting weld couldn’t you just make a ring then flatten it? And do as I say and not as I do.

Is there a trick to hiding your weld lines
Whopperjaw? That sounds caddywhompus

Why don’t you have a nice set of copper tongs like Jessica has???? She is more flashy than you lol
I used to be a car salesman.....i was terriable at it. Apparently yhou cant be transparent and a salesman.
Say as I do, not as I think. That doesn't sound quite right. Oh well
