    Just finished installing a jdm on my 2004 lx with the help of your awesome video! I started it up and there's a check engine light including a oil sign on the dash. There is smoke coming from the manifold that I put on the new engine from my old U.S. honda engine. Must be the penetrating oil that I applied to remove it form earlier. I found the connector for the oil switch on the backside of the jdm engine but it didn't seem to fit, so I connect it to the connector to the oils switch for the vtec oil sensor (i think) by the left side of the valve cover. Im wondering if that's the reason why the oil light is on. The car starts up great and it drives but those two lights on the dash is making me wonder if it is safe to drive. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

    • @hondaresource
      @hondaresource  3 года назад

      Smoke from manifold is normal when you first start it up. You have to install all the wiring where it belongs or it will most definitely result in lights on the dash

    So I did an A1 swap to the A recently. I have a question about the egr/ vtec solenoid. I don't have them wired up for the obvious reasons. However I am running into issues with the ecu reading a manufacturers malfunction. Not sure what this is for. Everything else accessory wise, and gaskets are all new including exhaust manifold/cat & O2 sensors, battery, Etc. Am I missing something crucial that's causing the car to misfire? I have not gotten to the evap system yet, however it's running with an 18% vacuum leak. Is this the culprit? or is it a fuel issue... I'm going to do a fuel pressure test later today as well. Thanks for all the in depth videos and sources. It's made my swap pretty straight forward, and I've learned more than I care to know about the 7th generation. I'm an EF and EK guy. (Temp sensor and crank sensors are new, cam sensor is old) no other codes relating to sensors that I'm aware of. New subscriber indefinitely.
    Note: The check engine light comes on and blinks periodically. I cleared it after the new battery. Hoping this is because of the misfires, however I've never had one blink on me before. New to the 7th generation, seems like a new headache 😆 timing has been quadruple checked with all new belts and tensioner. Should be tdc

      @@Bryce5280 so I'm beginning to think, after all said and done that the vacuum leak is purely evap system related. I've isolated that to be the case after redoing all the hoses under the hood to no avail. So get you evap system smoke checked professionally, go from there. I took mine into a dealership and got the sage advice there. Cost me roughly $150 after all was said and done. With complementary things added too. Well worth the time and headaches saved. Hope this helps.

    Where can I find that hose that connects to the silver metal tube behind the coilpacks? I’m struggling to find it. And how can I turn the crank bolt counterclockwise if that will loosen the bolt when turned in that dorection. (Timing was done perfectly and timing belt installed. This is a crank pulley bolt torque question)

      The hose that goes from the valve cover to the airbox? Turning the crank counterclockwise will not loosen the bolt if it's even remotely tight.
