    in terms of reliability, you're one person. When you look at channels like Linus Tech, they purchases 1 for their entire team at one point and ALL of them failed lol. By 10 laptops and have people use them for 1 year and that'll give you a better idea. Both my motherboard and keyboard failed and man was it hard to get them to fix it after 1 year warranty

      What's funny is they wont address this publicly. I remember a few years ago I was a top comment on their social posts asking what they have done to address reliability. They didn't answer, nor have they talked about reliability publicly yet.

      The Linus tech tips thing was caused by the mass BIOS issue. Hardware Canucks has a video talking about his Razer failing as well. It was something that affected nearly every razer at the time. It’s still sucks that it’s hard to get razer to repair your laptop.

    Razer Blade 15 advanced 2020 user here(with RTX 2080S). The fingerprint is not an issue since I use a skin from Dbrand. My only issues with this laptop are thermal control and the battery bloat. I had my battery removed due to bloat, which collided with my touchpad. Otherwise, it is a pretty solid device for 2 years of use. I just hope these problems will get fixed in the future Blade 16 model.

    I own a Razer Blade 15 base model (9750h rtx2060) from 2019. I love the design a lot, the performance is pretty good as well. However, the battery bulged after around 2 years and 2 months of ownership. I was disappointed with the reliability tbh. So I decided to buy the rog zephyrus g15 for my new machine.

      Battery bloat can happen to any device using Li-ION!
      Especially in laptops, which heat up nicely. LI-ION batteries don't like temps > 60 degree.
      Make sure you check on it every half a year, just like you'd check the brakes of your car!
      Get a laptop cooling pad, not to get more clocks out of the cpu/gpu but primarily to cool the chassis!

      I did the same thing, after trying two different replacement batteries, which stopped charging after a while. Unfortunately, even though this is a very upgradeable laptop, in case of battery replacement, Razer does not sell their own batteries, and it turns out that you need those. I have made a last effort to get this machine repaired by Razer out-of-warranty support, but it is an expensive process, and if I don't get it fixed, I am not going to buy another Razer laptop.

I would recommend getting plastic chasis, i know it feels cheaper but it is better because your palm rest wont get hot when playing. I tried zephyrus and scar from asus already, and prefer more on scar even it is more thick, not much heat in the chasis. Stay away from metal chasis in gaming laptop bro.

    Just ordered the 2022 model with the base 3060 gpu. I'm regretting that decision a little, as gaming at 1080 is not what I'm interested in these days. Higher resolution with close to max settings is what I'm expecting, considering the cost. Cyberpunk on max, Elden Ring, and the like. It hasn't arrived yet, so I'm not convinced it will be a lost cause yet, but I am thinking I should have gone for the 3070 ti or something.
    Anyone have one with just the 3060?

    • @JustinARFilms
      @JustinARFilms 2 года назад +4

      If you are expecting High resolution with max settings(and decent FPS) you should honestly not be buying a gaming laptop. You are just dumping money into hardware that is going to be restricted by power and heat constraints.
      Look at hardware cannucks review of the blade 15 2022 with 3080ti, did not perform much greater than last years 2021 3070 model.
      The 3070 ti is probably the more cost effective model, but it sounds like you don't have much experience with gaming laptops, so curb your expectations
      If you get the highest end gaming laptop, you are more than likely being throttled in some way in order to make that stuff work, such as lowering the wattage being fed to the gpu or thermal throttling in order to keep the laptop cool. Having a desktop gives you a bit more breathing room so stuff doesn't melt.
      This is coming from someone who uses their blade 14 3070(2021) more than their desktop with a 3070, so not hating on gaming laptops in any way.

      @@JustinARFilms thanks for the info. Yeah, I'm new to gaming laptops, got rid of my tower I built in order to downsize a bit. Was just hoping I won't be stuck at 30fps if I go above 1080, but sounds like I might just be after all

    • @3moles1hole
      @3moles1hole 2 года назад

      @@blurtling Hey, I honestly wouldn't worry about the 3060 at 1440p gaming. Since both 3060 and 3070 ti will be limited to low TGP, I'd say it would be a 10-15 fps more? It'll be fine at 1440p knowing DLSS can exist, but it does fine without it with 50-60 FPS in most titles at high. (I personally own a Blade 15 with a 3070 ti, and the performance isn't that outstanding compared to my old Zephyrus G15 with a 3070.)

      @@blurtlinggoing with a XX60 moddel ist the Go too. Spend the Money you Safe on a Desktop. So your light gaming and editing on the Laptop and usw the Desktop for high/max settings in Games and top Render your Projects. It's Just Not Worth the cost for a high end Laptop. They use more Power -> less battery Life and get hotter or require a larger heatsink -> thicker/less portable.

    Loved the Video ❤ As you mentioned many people complain about reliability of Razer products. I am not saying that there aren't any issues with Razer but mostly the problems people face are due to the fact that they don't take care of their device. As in your case even though it's two year old, it feels like a few months old just because you have taken such good care of it and hence didn't have any issues with reliability. I see many people selling their razer blade on OLX(an website in India for reselling) stating that either some keys are not working or the entire keyboard is not working or the speakers are not working and some anodization has peeled off, all of which happens mostly because they don't treat their devices properly.

    In Australia the 15" 3080TI with 4k Display is $7k retail, however I am getting them for $5k from Amazon
    All issues below are out of the box.
    1st one arrived with a blown right speaker, Bluetooth issues, and bad alignment from screen to body (screen lipped over on the right side) so I sent it back and got another one
    2nd one arrived with dead pixels throughout the screen, sent back for replacement
    3rd one has arrived and it glitches, it freezes, it sometimes refuses to connect to my monitor, videos lag, at times my mouse lags, and the touch pad double clicked (as to sound from the touch pad) instead of one click when pressing down on it.
    DO NOT BUY, hands down the worse quality control from a company, its a shame because I wanted it to work so badly hence why I tried so many times. Best looking laptops on the market but they just don't work. Also heat management is very bad. Very upsetting considering how much they cost.
