You got yourself a good deal of value from the lowered prices >< Although usbc charging is a neat addition, but I think you don’t need to be jealous, as when you pop out your Blade at a LAN party or in public, other gamers will be jealous of you for owning such a powerful yet thin machine ^^

    I bought one of these a year and a half ago. It looks amazing and performance is good but their build quality is terrible. I've had multiple hardware issues with this laptop. One was the battery. It overheated and basically 'inflated' inside breaking the TouchPad functionality. Second issue was the fan inside. It started making grinding noises when its running. The fan never stops, even in idle mode. Drove me crazy. It needs to be replaced. I tried getting support through their site. I'm out of warranty and they don't provide replacements of these parts through their site. Their support is atrocious. Seems easier to just get it fixed myself. You will at some point have to deal with some issue if you purchase a Razer laptop. This was the first Razer and will be the last one I ever get from them. Huge letdown.

      Hi Ed T! I feel you, with Razer products, sometimes it feels like buying the lottery. You either win and get a good quality product for the whole lifespan or you get one with a bad component somewhere inside their product😪 I personally think they should revise the "send product back" on their warranty policy or somehow speed up the process so the RMA process doesn't have to take so long. Either way, hope you get your Blade back asap ^^

    • @GamersClinic
      @GamersClinic  4 года назад +3

      Hi MrShroomBot! Thank you! My first question to you would be, how passionate are you towards video games, and which weighs more in terms of productivity vs gaming.
      If you are more focused towards a stable and consistent (throttlefree) gaming experience, then the RTX 2060, 2070, 2080 models are all good for both gaming and play (depending on your budget).
      However, if you are just casual gamer, but needs a screen with close to 100% color accuracy, then Dell's new XPS laptops are more tuned towards productivity. It can run games, but not as well as Razer's laptops. As for the Asus AMD equipped G14, they have a Full HD 144hz refresh screen as well, which is not too bad.
      Hope this helps ^^

      Hi Merkava! That would be the 2020 model, which is still sold at the full retail price. In my opinion, if you don’t mind purchasing at the full price, any model you get will be a good choice. Though might I suggest that you extensively test the laptop when it arrives for potential hardware defects, or purchase the additional RazerCare option which will extend your warranty from 1 to 3 years to have a peace of mind >

    • @GamersClinic
      @GamersClinic  4 года назад +1

      The 2080 Super Max Q will give you slightly more frame rates to to fully utilize the 300hz refresh screen in more gpu demanding games due to more shader cores and higher clock speeds. On paper the RTX 2080 Max Q is roughly 14% faster than the 2070, other than that their functions are pretty much the same due to same architecture. Hope that helps ^^

    Thank you for the video! It has been very insightful. I also love you presentation style.
    I am thinking about purchasing a Razer Blade 15 2020 with RTX 2060 for 2000 euros. I live in Holland, so buying from Razers online shop seems to be my only option. Also, since the RTX 2060 isn't a top tier GPU, what do you think is the right moment to buy? I understand that big resellers like Best Buy will sell old stock with a discount, but what do you think Razer themselves will do? Lastly, do you think the RTX 2060 model might drop in price (or a better model will come close in price)?
    I have been researching for weeks and you are the only one talking about price drops in august/september, so I am curious to hear your thoughts. Thanks in advance and have a lovely day!

    • @GamersClinic
      @GamersClinic  4 года назад +1

      Hi Martijn Bos! You are welcome and I am glad you find my video helpful ^^
      For RTX2060, my personal prediction is that the next price drop from Razer themselves would most likely come after the RTX 3000 series chips are released. So as they are planned to enter production in August 2020, add in time for Razer to test their systems with the new chips and then manufacture them, the fastest would be late December 2020. (This is assuming the current pandemic doesn't disrupt any of their suppliers manufacturing again).
      Meantime, you can also try checking Dutch and German Amazon to see if there are discounted prices of the RTX 2060 Razer Blade 15 left. You might find 2019 RTX 2060 which could be cheaper, with the difference being the processor being 9th gen i7, and wifi 5 on the 2019 model. Though there should not be much performance difference from the 9th gen i7 processor for gaming if you don't mind that.
      Hope this helps ^^

      Gamers' Clinic Thanks a lot for your thoughts! I am currently without any gaming system, so I think to me waiting another 6/7/8 months is not worth the price drop. Hi OFFLINE! Thank you for your feedback. When Razer announced the new Blades with RTX 3000 series, the 2000 series will go on discount. However, if waiting is not an option, I will recommend the 2020 models if you are a creator and need access to the SD card slot on the Advanced Models, but if not and you don't need 240hz or above, then the late 2019 models should be fine ^^

      Hi Ferfo Romero! As much as I love Razer's Blade laptops for their build quality, with a limited budget and for best value, I will recommend checking out the new AMD Ryzen laptops from other brands as well, such the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15. Razer's laptops (like Macbooks) are priced slightly higher and I feel that they don't really offer additional performance or benefits for the premium they charge, unless you are really into their brand.
      But at the end of the day, getting the laptop that you really want is what I think matters most as it will really give you the satisfaction of the purchase ^^

Im really into razer's products right now, the top quality of their peripherals have made me to keep looking for her stuff rather than checking other 'quality-price' products, but I think the history is different when getting in to laptops, so my question had to be different, It's Razer Blade slightly higher value, is worth it? Or just appearance to combine with my other razer products? Thank you!

    • @GamersClinic
      @GamersClinic  3 года назад

      @@ferforomero92 You're welcome ^^ As for your question on their laptop build quality, these new models (2019 onwards) are quite sturdy and well built & designed. Though it is a matter of luck if you will get a lemon or not, as "some" users do report getting one with defects or problems. (I suspect that they have some loop holes in their overall QC process).
      Though mine is 2 years and 1.5 months now and other than a faulty CMOS battery that I had to replace myself, everything else is perfectly fine. Just make sure you purchase from a retailer that has good warranty/return policy, or if possible, purchase their Razer Care extended warranty for peace of mind.

      @GamersClinic  4 года назад +1

      Hi Matthias Bigl! If you do not play a lot of graphical intense games or need to play everything at high/ultra settings, then the GTX1070 is still a capable card. Though for the price of 1040 Euros, it is quite attractive and worthwhile, especially if you plan to use the laptop mainly for productivity. But do keep in mind that when the RTX 3000 series come out, game developers will probably "up the benchmark" of graphical settings as those 3000 series are rumored to be quite powerful, and the GTX1070 might start to have trouble keeping settings at high to maintain 60+ fps in gaming then. Hi Aditya Upalkar! I will say, with Razer products, it is a bit of a gamble. Sometimes you get faulty products, sometimes you get products without any issues. The Razer Synapse software used to suck, but over time it's getting better and doesn't cause me much problem anymore. As for the speakers on the Blade model I have, I still use it everyday at work and do not have any problems. For the keyboard, I think it's more of a personal preference. I didn't quite like it at first, but after about 3-4 months I got used to it and don't have any issues with it. But overall, it's almost 2 years now and my Blade laptop is still running fine without any issues ever since the CMOS battery problem, so hope this is helpful ^^

    How about that display flex cable any lines on it after long term ? Any visible wear or tearing ? I'm asking cause 3 days ago, I got a blade 15 advanced RTX2080 Mq 240Hz model.. I think is the Late 2019 model and it seems nice but that display cable bothers me it's 3 days old and the display cable has visible line marks from opening the screen is that normal ? Post pic maybe so, I can compare it to mine.. I can return the blade to Amazon until 31 of January.. Maybe get the 2020 base since it has no Display flex cause it also seems razer does not sell anything so, I won't be able to replace it easy and Razer warranty RMA it's pretty bad from what, I have heard.. I switched from GS65
    stealth thin 8RF and that was a bad laptop to, It had multiple fails keyboard screen power jack two bottom casing, I was tired from dealing with replacing anything and the thing is, I use my laptop a lot for gaming server hosting database work programming etc.. I do keep my laptops in very good shape even my gs65 has been fully restored and like new after the last keyboard failed.. But with the razer it seems hard to be able to fix the device without the need to sent it to razer and I'm planning to use it for minimum 3 years really don't want to go again with another Msi Like story.. I mean the Display cable between the hinge where the cable bends every time the screen you open the screen..

    • @GamersClinic
      @GamersClinic  4 года назад +1

      Hi Prasanth Baligar! For the price you stated, it is quite worthwhile if you like a gaming laptop with an aluminum finish. It wont be able to run most modern games at max settings, but it still has a good GPU for medium settings. As for the 256GB SSD, you can easily upgrade it to 512 or 1TB ssd at a later date.
      On the other hand, the Dell G7 is also a good laptop from a reputable brand. However, the finish will be plastic instead of aluminum, and it will be slightly thicker, larger, and a bit heavier than the Razer Blade 15, but will be cheaper than the Razer Blade Base Model. (And also, if not mistaken, only one backlight color on keyboard, but a more pleasant keyboard for typing)
      It's hard to say which is better, but I can suggest asking yourself which "style/aesthetics" do you prefer, and then if you are willing to pay a little more for a unibody aluminum finish, or you are ok with Dell's premium feel plastic ^^ Hope that helps >

      Hi Alexandra O! If you are planning to get a laptop purely for work and productivity, then I would suggest the Surface Book 3. It might have a slightly less powerful GPU of GTX1660Ti for the 15" version, and less powerful CPU (which means It will take a little more time when rendering when compared to the Razer Blade), but it is adequate enough to get the job done. On the other hand, if you do play video games, then I would say go for the Razer Blade as it is more capable of delivering a smoother gaming performance.
      As for the longevity of the product, it is hard to say, as for any product there is a chance of getting a lemon, with Razer's products having a little higher % of getting one. From my experience with all my Razer products, about 1 in 10 will have issues, but if you live in the US and purchase their extended warranty, then you won't need to worry too much as their customer service has improved greatly when they first started as a company, and they will replace you with a new one as long as the fault is theirs >< Hope this helps ^^

      Hi IamNot Streamer! You can check out that video recommended by Troystaah for testing your videos. And as for good m.2, you can get any Samsung EVO or EVO Pro, or WD Black series. As for skinning, you should skin it if you use it everyday. The reason I didn’t skin mine was because the shipping cost + customs import fee from D Brand costs the same as the cost of the skin itself, so it doesn’t feel justified for me >

    Nice review man! I hope you'll notice this comment. There is a sale for razer blade 15 2019 model i7 9th gen with 1660ti for $1349. I'd like to know if it's worth it than going for acer predator helios 300 with i7 10th+2060 which is only $1.2k and against the hp omen 15 ryzen7+1660ti for $1350. can you give me your opinion? thanks!

    • @GamersClinic
      @GamersClinic  4 года назад +2

      Hi Kx Jake! Thank you ^^ This is a difficult question lol. Personally, I've had bad experiences with Acer products in the past so it will be difficult for me to recommend them. However, The 2019 Helios 300 has have received many positive ratings from reviewers, but at the same time it is also receiving customer reviews on Amazon about random problems such as crashing, freezing, and backlight bleed. As for the HP Omen 15, at the discounted price from Razer, I would choose the Razer Blade simply because of the same GPU and better CPU (This is assuming if I'm not mistaken about the Ryzen 7 being 3rd Gen AMD CPU).
      So to help you decide between the Razer Blade and the Helios 300, if you don't mind lowering the graphical settings to around medium settings in some demanding games, you can hit 144hz with GTX1660Ti. As for the RTX2060 mobile version, the only benefit is around 6-8% more rendering power and dedicated Tensor cores for Ray Tracing with DLSS 2.0. Though with Ray Tracing on, the RTX2060 will struggle quite a bit for demanding games like Control, which will also require you to lower and tweak your graphical settings to get playable fps. (The newer RTX 2060 Super GPUs are more capable for Ray Tracing) But either GPU with medium settings are still able to output graphics that look better than the same games on current gen consoles. Hope this helps ^^

      This is just a last min push in.
      I found an acer triton 500 i7 9th gen with 2060 for $1.3k I know you already told me about it being bad but I’m just taking chances if maybe you had diff exp on this specific model? And how will this stack up against the razer blade 15 1660ti? Thank you a lot!

    • @Walkdthock
      @Walkdthock 4 года назад

      Gamers' Clinic oh I will only use it for productivity and the most demanding game I’ll play on it is league of legends at very high settings with a monitor of 1440p 165hz. Hope this info will help on your opinion about my choices. Thank you!

    • @GamersClinic
      @GamersClinic  4 года назад +1

      You are very welcome, and thank you for the support! The Triton 500 is Acer’s top tier gaming laptop, and if you can get one at the stated price, then it is indeed a good value! (+ full aluminum chassis). If playing LoL, all 3 graphics card will be able to output at 1440p at 120+ fps on an external monitor, so no issue there. I think if you are willing to take chances with Acer, then I will say choose between the Triton 500 and the Razer Blade 15, with more value for money on the $1.3k Triton 500.
      On the other hand, if you do a lot of 3D modeling or programming, might I suggest you to check out the ASUS Zephyrus G14. Reason is because for CPU intensive work, the 4th gen AMD RyzenCPU totally owns Intel’s CPUS.

      Gamers' Clinic I really appreciate people like you who just wants to help! And since we are already here. Honestly, I tested alienware m17 r3, asus g14 and msi gs66.
      AW m17 r3- you practically get what you’re paying for highest temp I got 55c-66c heavy load. Has the best screen, speaker, kb, thermals. It was just too big(foot print 17”) and a clicking noise on the hinge so Inreturned it. The process of returning, refund and reordering is 1month and a half that’s the only downside.
      Asus g14- oh boy this one’s a tough one. It’s very powerful yes and all reviews are all positive. But for someone who actually bought it and use it for a week I’ll say the opposite. It’s just too hot it constantly reaches 93c-99c and it just throttles (playing LOL). The screen color was the worst among the lot. VERY BAD. Fps would spike like crazy I think because of thermals so it is powelful but you won’t really get a stable power out of it cos its too hot. The bottom of screen warms as you play longer bec of hot air passing through it and thats not good long term. Speakers are good but alienware’s m17 r3 are noticeably better. The feel of materials and finish tho is very good imo.
      Msi gs66- this one was also a disappointment for most parts. Big factor is that I tried alienware first before this bad boy. Screen color is good as alienware’s but aw is just much brighter and a little more vibrant. Speakers are THE WORST you will really know it has no bass in it what so ever lol. I just cant stand that for a $2k laptop. It gets very hot too!! But after undervaulting I was able to lower temps but I’m still uncomfortable with it reaching 88c when playing LOL. But having it undervolted but still reaching this temps while only playing LOL with unstable fps makes me really uncomfortable too. This is all alienware’s fault lol
      Alienware m17 r3- perfect but the wait time is just too long for return process, refund and reordering and it’s more expensive than the rest.
      Asus g14- was greatly disappointed. There is no use having so much power when you can’t utilize it cos it throttles so much with the wordt screen possible lol.
      Msi gs66- it’s a $2k laptop as expersinve or much more expensive than alienware depends on promos. Very bad speakers among the three, bad thermals but with a good screen. Something that’s okay, but given the price I think nahhhh.

    Does anyone know what defects I should test in a new laptop

    • @GamersClinic
      @GamersClinic  4 года назад +7

      Hi Larz Kin! I don't know if there is a standardized testing out there, but I can recommend what I do when I purchase new laptops:
      1. Check screen: Unusual Backlight Bleeding(Dark room, open a black image full screen), Dead pixels you can check youtube for dead pixel clip to test to see if any pixel doesnt change colors with the others.
      2. Check external for physical defects (from shipping)
      3. Check Keyboard, test every key and function keys.
      4. Check all ports, speakers, webcam, etc...
      5. Run a CPU/GPU test (ie: 3D Mark) to see if there is any unusual throttling or over the top temps.
      6. Play your favorite games on it, and see if there is any unusual performance issues.
      Hope that helps ^^

    can you test the response times?

    • @GamersClinic
      @GamersClinic  4 года назад +1

      Hi Jeff Down! Unfortunately, I do not have the proper tools to properly test the response times. However, based on tech sheets of the IPS and OLED panels I found, here is a list of the response times each of Razer Blade Advanced Models screens:
      - 144hz IPS panels: ~16ms GTG (Sharp)
      - 240hz IPS panels: ~13ms GTG (LG Philips)
      - 300hz IPS panels: cannot find data yet ~
      - 60hz OLED 4K panels: ~1ms GTG (Samsung AMOLED)
      Due to the nature of IPS panels, their response times are higher compared to OLED or VA panels, but from my experience gaming on the 144hz panel, i haven't had any ghosting problems, which is strange because normally a screen with greater than 10ms response time, I can see the ghosting problem quite clearly when playing fps games. I'll update this post again once I get my hands on the 300hz panel data. ^^

    The blade has TERRIBLE battery life. I have to have my max processor speed on battery at 25% to get anything close to 3 maybe 4 hours of battery life just watching RUclips videos, and not at full screen mind you. My old 2013 Macbook Pro could STILL to this day get 7 hrs easily full screen hd video. As far as other issues I constantly had BSOD issues the first year, and it eventually went away in an update. Now more recently my WiFi card will randomly disconnect mid game causing me to get disconnected from the server. No it is not the router as we've replaced that since this started happening. Overall very displeased with the $2,000 price and terrible customer service who have done absolutely nothing but tell me to reinstall drivers which does nothing.
