You know, I love Zacky and Syn, you know? They're just, you know, two of the best guitarists ever, you know? Lmao just messing around Zacky, I love you both.
I both agree but also disagree. The ones he's written ARE in fact fantastic such as the solo's from dancing dead, to end the rapture, and the main guitar riff for scream however his best work is so far and few inbetween that its easy to overlook especially when you have a lead player such as synyster gates who is pretty much a modern day shred master.
@@shredgod6394 If you had been a fan as long as i have you could tell the difference. V has more punk influence and wasnt trained like syn or go to music school like syn. Its very easy to tell.
this reminds me. Me and my buddy played a drinking game on bmx video. Garrett Reynolds nike6.0 part. Every time he does barspin (where he throws the bars around) u take a drink. we got drunk pretty fast.
This helps ease my performance anxiety so much, just hearing that even though feel like I am doing absolutely horrible, I'm already on track with a lot of things they said, and that they didn't just pick up a guitar and shred it their first time they had to work at (like this is obvious but it helps to hear it) gives me confidence to keep practicing, and some things they said will help me eliminate some bad habits i started forming 💙💙💙💀 i love these guys so much
I was a drummer for years but zacky got me into rhythm guitar. Boy it's a fucking process learning guitar as a drummer but I've seen a lot of progress and have been writing my own licks now. It's all thanks to Zacky 🇺🇸👍🎸
These guys are the reason why i play man. Syn's skill and Zacky's motivation and ambition just never stops amazing me. dont get me wrong Zacky is fucking amazing guitar player and i agree that he does not get as much respect as he should get compared to Syn. Amazing people!!! Rest in peace Rev... you still fucking rock brother.
I love to see these guys talk about music. There's a lot of feeling and structure you get from there albums but the real emotion and memory is stored in all there commentary.
It's always a good idea to learn stuff by ear. Its a pain in the ass at first but once your able to realize your too low or too high it will make your playing so much better as well as being able to learn other players content with the same basic principles
Tablature are music sheets that help you learn a song that you want to learn. It's a great way to learn songs from your favorite band or musician. I do recommended getting any tablature book that tells you what the notes mean (usually its on the front or the back of the book) After you learn some songs, try learning some other songs by ear. Hope that helps you. :)
these guys have plenty of money to spend on new amps and gear, but honestly you dont really need a huges and kettner for good tone. im perfectly happy with the tone coming out of my B52 At100 that i bought for $350 on craigslist and 3 schecters with active pickups... now if you just have a little combo starter amp then yeah youll probably have to upgrade but there are plenty of lower range amps that can achieve great tone
makes me happy knowing i'm not the only one who plays in mostly downstroke. I like that Zacky admits it's a hard habit to get used to alternating. Cause I can't alternate well for shit lol.
You guys really helped me out, Cause i new like how to do stuff, i remembered notes..but i didn't know that at the start it's good to try and do like easy notes and move your fingers slowly not fast and AFTER you get faster! You really helped me out! Thanks! Avenged Sevenfold foREver!
@iamthescott1 both work, if you mute your picking hand by putting it on the string it will always sound the same, wether as if you mute your fretting hand you'll get a lighter or heavier sound. so its up to you.
when he said "it's good to have a great drummer. one who has a good groove" i could just see the Rev skipping through singing "A spoonfull of Jimmy helps the medicine go down." XD R.I.P. REV, we'll miss you. come back as soon as you're an amazing knife master
this was a fkn awesome interview and guitar lesson/talk. Man I've always said it and Zacky just did : Not everyone is born to be a lead player, love to listen to leads but I prefer riffing my 6th & 5th strings
This is very very good info for beginning guitarist...I had to figure all this shit out on my own and it took a very long time but if you r a beginner you really need to pay attention to what they r saying its very good advice that can save you a shitload of time
well, its burn it down and its (im gonna try to tab this as best i can on here) basically open power chord on A and D (0/2) then 1/3 and 0/2 and 3/5 then 0/2 again then 1/3 again then 0/2 again with some palm muted open A string in between power chords questions, just PM me.
It was Burn It Down. I just didn't remember the certain part Zacky played. I got all the Avenged Sevenfold albums to date but Sounding The Seventh Trumpet. Just couldn't really get into that one. Saw them live in 08 also. Good show.
Neither. It comes from the fact that Zacky's primarily the band's rhythm player and Syn's the lead. Syn's tone has quite a bit of reverb on it so that his solos sound more full and kinda gives that "surrounding" feeling to it. If Zacky had that same reverb, it'll make all his palm muting sound very muddy. The crunchy tone suits the palm muting a lot better. So it really depends on your style.
Love both of them (: i think there both really fukking good lmao i love how they both look at the cam and then look done really fast xD like there scared of the cam haha
Syn is a metal guitarist who infuses different elements of other rock genres into his music. He rarely ventures into any blues scales, though I'm sure he can apply them reasonably well.
but, what alot of people don't realize, is that a good lead, is usually a better rhythm guitarist. because, when you work as a lead for a band for a couple of months, as Syn said, he didn't usually worry about rhythm, until he started playing in a band, and since then, he's said that he's become a better rhythm player, listen to all their live stuff, when Syn plays rhythm, especially in Second Heartbeat, he set the rhythm, Jimmy came in 1/8th late, in my opinion, but still, he kept the rhythm.
Avenged sevenfold rhythm is mainly an open d string and chorus is usually badass octaved notes and also syn and zacky are awesome and by disrespecting everyone who disagrees with you 1.pisses them off so expect retaliation 2.makes it seem like you don't think they should have an opinion. please just simmer down and have fun this is the internet after all.
im with fleaa he was a jazz guitarist but he plays everything he learned it from his dad most people call him guitar guy he plays on the comedian jeff dunahms shows...
there are a lot parts syn wrote, that zack plays and a lot part that zack wrote and syn plays, like the high thingy part in scream. this slotmashine sound. zack wrote it, syn plays it. also jimmy wrote the afterlife solo, not syn. they are all talented, okay? everyone. matt, syn, zack, johnny and jimmy.
Lol. I play guitar and I feel Syn is a great guitarist. I see your point though. He's not the best like so many fanboys claim him to be, but he's a solid, well rounded and talented musician.
No Zacky, I don't know...
I loled xD

Zacky is one of my rythm inspirations. He can shred or pull of a solo. Its sick.

Hell yeah for rhythm guitarists. Rhythm guitarists unite.
they both look mighty fine
Drop the low E down to D so you have a 5th chord just by barring (or playing open) the lowest 3 strings
Neither. It comes from the fact that Zacky's primarily the band's rhythm player and Syn's the lead.
