The green LED goes through the skin. But not deep enough to see other things. Like Red. Infared goes deeper. But, because you're sleeping and there's no outside disturbances. The watch can filter out the noise.

Naw the watch classic may be geared towards non gym users but the watch 4 was by far my best gym watch. Yep, you guessed it sweaty hands do not affect the rotating basil. Even the Apple Watch has trouble when you have sweaty fingers. Oh yeah great review thanks for staying on top of things so quickly.

If I understood correctly the main differences are - classic 6 has physical rotating bezel BUT also a smaller battery I'm on the fence should I go 5 pro of classic 6 To me, the battery life is more important than some physical rotating bezel. A thing that has been the focal point of every complaint considering 5 pro. It's interesting as they said that classic 6 had like 400 something mah or something and 5 pro has 500 mah-something so there's a clear difference. I doubt an upgraded chip will make that big of difference on the battery life

I basically did a coffee spit when I heard the price. $299 is wild for a smart watch. I'll stick to the watch 5 with slightly larger bezels I just got to replace my gear sport for half the price on Prime day.
The Price of the watch 6 is far less than the watch 5 pro , although the watch 5 is $279 the price of the 5 pro is around $450 that is far more than the new watches that are coming out soon so they did make the price a little more affordable this time sadly the watch 6's are going to have terrible battery life.

I would love to see somebody come up with a quantitative measurement (something like NITS) to compare the vibration strength of one device against another.
I think my watch 4 gets a little less then 24 hours. Didn't test that tbh but with constantly monitoring heart rate, always on display and animated watchface it lasts me around 1 1/2 days
Yeah, I'm sticking to the small 5 40mm, the battery is fine considering I charge it every day anyway and ive never had a rotating bezel so i never got used to it. All i want is the update to the new version of wearos which hopefully will fix the connectivity issues.
@@abc20243 Huawei software is ok, it's made to cover only a few most used scenarios and it covers them well, where watches with wearos tend can do everything, poorly.
I returned my watch 6 for a watch 6 classic simply for the bezel while I work out so I'm a little confused why he says the classic is less workout friendly. They have the same sensors and it just weighs a little more and tbh I like the weight. The bezel really helps navigating when my hands are sweaty

Red LED are ok during the night, when there is almost no other light source around. During daylight and other bright situations, the greed LED is still needed. In the past they only added the LEDs that will work the whole time. This to safe costs and space I guess.
Will be interested to see the hands on review. Of particular interest will be sizing, batter performance and water resistance. I have the 40mm Galaxy Active 2. I have small wrists (180 mm) and prefer a discreet watch, so the GW6 40mm would seem to be my preference. It would be nice to have a template to get a feel how the 44 mm would look on a small wrist, as the larger battery may be appealing. My Active 2 can comfortably last 48 hours, GW5 users seem to struggle with 24 hours and that's with Samsung's recommendations to constraining many of the features to save power. The GW6 has a bigger battery but will that translate into a much improved run time? How will the 300 mAh and 425 mAh compare? My Active 2 charges pretty quickly and there's generally an inactive point in the day when I can put it on charge for an hour. Maybe battery life shouldn't be a big concern? The forums and channels raise issues with watches failing due to water ingress and this isn't covered under the warranty. I did see a Samsung response which indicated that they can be immersed in water but there shouldn't be any vigorous movement. So not suited to swimming? I've not risked my Active 2 in the pool, I'd love a watch that could track my swimming.

The battery life is the showstopper for me. I currently have Amazfit GTR 2e were the battery lasts at least 1 weeks, so cannot go back to daily charging
I have the Amazfit GTR Mini I get about 2 weeks without having to charge. As much as I want this watch to have the full Samsung ecosystem, it's hard to pay almost 3x's as much for less battery life 😞

I had the GW4 and it was great, but battery life was a bit too lame. I upgraded to the GW5 Pro and that battery issue is a complete NON-ISSUE. Excellent watch. Not sure of regular GW5 battery life, but if it's proven to be noticeably better than the 4 then I'd suggest that. If you're not looking to be a "heavy user" of the watch features/abilities, then an excellent deal on a GW4 would be fine, just charge it every night, before or when you go to bed.

A shame about the battery capacity parity between the 40mm and 44mm and 43mm and 47mm. The screen size difference is around 15% but the battery difference is 40%. It's not fair to penalise smaller wrists with a worse battery life. There's no way they'll give similar usage times. The 40mm should be around 350-360mah.
Internal parts use the same space (chipset, MOBO, wires...) So having less physical space overall means you have to schrink smthng. What else would you choose? losing any sensor?
@@alejandrosanchez0 I think that internal size isn't an issue because the same dimensions have been around for the Watch 4 and 5 which had smaller battery capacities. They have grown in the same space. They fitted a 590mah into the Watch 5 Pro and the 6 Classic being roughly the same size has a smaller battery. If internal size was an issue then either increase the case size to 41mm, get a higher density battery in the same space or rethink your biometric sensors as they aren't as accurate as Apple and Garmin anyway and if they are restricting battery sizes then they should go as that is a major factor in people buying a smart watch in the first place.

Good review, Mike. Do you know if they kept the same HR and GPS sensors, which performed absolutely abysmally in the 5-series? That would be so ridiculous to improve this watch on so many other fronts but ignore those two things which anyone who takes athletic performance seriously would care about.

They both were an absolute nightmare for accuracy and were the one reason my Watch 5 went back within a week. I actually loved my Watch 5 more than my current Pixel Watch, but without good sensors, the watch has little value to a runner.

Red has more penetration than green it helps to read blood vessels but the reading are inaccurate green is accurate but cannot read in all conditions (lets say while moving)

They have grown in the same space. They fitted a 590mah into the Watch 5 Pro and the 6 Classic being roughly the same size has a smaller battery. If internal size was an issue then either increase the case size to 41mm, get a higher density battery in the same space or rethink your biometric sensors as they aren't as accurate as Apple and Garmin anyway and if they are restricting battery sizes then they should go as that is a major factor in people buying a smart watch in the first place.

Good review, Mike. Do you know if they kept the same HR and GPS sensors, which performed absolutely abysmally in the 5-series? That would be so ridiculous to improve this watch on so many other fronts but ignore those two things which anyone who takes athletic performance seriously would care about.
They don't care to add support to external hr monitors which is easier upgrade an kind of free from their part!
@@kerber0s125 I'm not talking about external. I'm talking about the onboard HR sensor and GPS sensor(s). They both were an absolute nightmare for accuracy and were the one reason my Watch 5 went back within a week. I actually loved my Watch 5 more than my current Pixel Watch, but without good sensors, the watch has little value to a runner.

I'm still rocking my original galaxy watch, haven't seen any reason to upgrade yet.
Though, the classic 6 is looking really interesting.
Red has more penetration than green it helps to read blood vessels but the reading are inaccurate
green is accurate but cannot read in all conditions (lets say while moving)
