Felt like the last few mins of episode 10 was rushed! Felt like there was more to explore if they had more time. But all well. I’ll curl up in a ball and wait for season 3 now!!
I think she knew that that might happen and tried to warn them not to let her near Wilford: she was TERRIFIED of being near him in the first few episodes to the point of getting drunk. There's gotta be a reason for that such as not wanting to become this person again. I also wonder if maybe she didn't really go over to the Dark Side and is playing Wilford herself in some form.
So class here's Snowpiercer Death 101: unless you see a body and a person is confirmed dead, there's a good chance that they AREN'T actually dead. Sometimes even when you see a body, they aren't dead. We got that with Wilford, Alex, Josie and even Kevin class. So who bets that Melanie is not really dead, especially since she's still confirmed to appear in Season 3??? Oh and Javi maybe too??? Opinions class???
Okay so i hated.. Like literally hated that they killed off Melanie, like so much.. Like layton and Melanie are such a good team.. But Givin credit where it's due.. Ruth's character development was just amazing, she went up and Beyond from being a Wolford worshipper to bad ass fighter for good.
Melanie's probably not actually dead and neither is Javi. She's confirmed to appear in Season 3 although how is currently unclear. In an interview, the showrunner or whatever implied that Javi's not actually dead as well. Think about it: Wilford, Alex, Josie and Kevin were all believed to be dead for awhile and it turned out that they actually weren't. Probably the same sort of thing here.
@@WarGrowlmon18 I wanna believe that but I really think javi is dead. When the dog attacked you could hear like a bone crunch so the dog probably went for the neck and he was already busted up from the guards. Melanie is probably alive though
@@jamiestevens3074 Well I think the Headwoods can do something about Javi specially since he's one of the only two experienced engineering left in the train. Lets just hope for the best for Season 3. I say no corpse, not dead and I think the show cant afford to lose Melanie.
@gloriapsy if Javi is not dead, headwoods can probably fix him up if not and he died in the jackboots attack, then Wilford is the only person that can make the train move
Wilford's guards are seen dragging Javi away after the dog attack and the producer says we will be surprised when asked if Javi is really dead so im sure hes alive just like Kevin. They will brainwash him!
It would certainly seem to make more sense than perpetually circumnavigating the globe over deteriorating track, rusting bridges, and avalanche-prone mountain passes. Given enough warning, I would think that small survival colonies could be built around geothermal (as in Iceland) or nuclear power plants. In the original comic, as I recall, the climate catastrophe occurred so fast there was no time for preparations. If Snowpiercer hadn't already existed as a self-sufficient round-the-world tour train, nobody would have survived.
They mentioned that some tried that in the very first episode, but I also think they mentioned that it was too cold to work. Something about while people were fleeing into bunkers Wilford was breaking out his train set.
Gotta be one of my favourite TV shows ever. I loved this season, Sean bean is amazing as Wilford and Ruth's character progression was outstanding. Can't wait for season 3 🚄
Just finish watching snowpiercer in Netflix today in Philippines 🇵🇭, the two seasons were incredibly awesome and especially a full round pf applause to the characters and the director for making this two season awesome because now i am waiting for the season 3 and 4 for this series 🎉👏🏼
Wow. It’s amazing how we’re on different sides of the world and enjoying the same show week by week. I’m in Ireland, we had heavy fog last night and sunshine this morning.
I forgot how good a villain Sean Bean can play. In recent years we know him for playing salt of the earth protagonists. But throughout his career he's played many villains. A mark of a good actor that can play both convincingly
I was so happy they gave some hints that maybe he was Willy Wonka in his past life or at least they existed in the same universe. Giving those interesting theories some redemption
Javi is alive as hinted at by the show runner, Melanie will come back. Her dying doesn’t make sense for her story, especially since she just reconnected with her daughter. And a snowpiercer rule is that unless you see a body, that person is still alive.
Episode 9 felt very rush, and felt it wanted to wrap up a lot of storylines, quickly. The ice lung scene, I wish we could have saw the faces or hear their final words. Do they beg or still sing their joys of Wilford? However, as you suggest a time jump, I can see why they want to wrap things up. Episode 10 was good, and I am glad they didn’t end with the same ending of episode 6. Audrey has finally click that Mr Wilford doesn’t care for her, and you can see her love of the night car came back with LJ’s boyfriend piano scene.
I had a feeling Audrey was just putting a front and trying to do whatever she could to be Team Audrey and survive (her real feelings show in scenes like the piano scene or when she talks to Zarah privately). But now i think she’ll realize Wilford really won’t give a damn to protect her and so she has to recalculate her moves here
I love your review. I do have a feeling that Melanie was still alive. I've read all of Snowpiercer graphic novel and I found out that there's another train, called Ice Breaker or something. Maybe they're the ones who find her. Not to mention, I think its in the graphic novel that, there were actually seven types of Snowpiercer train. The TV series might not be following them though.
I’ve been watching another guy’s recaps on this series and they just aren’t that good. He literally just retells what happens without any input or opinions. I suppose if you didn’t watch the episode it might be helpful but I’m glad you made it back with snowpiercer!! 🙌
I think the series really picked up steam (ah! ah! get it?! lol). Allowing more characters to develop, and having a back and forth power struggle between Wilford and Layton has helped push the story. Though I thought the very last part of the finale was wrapped up too quickly for my taste, I am glad it provides a clean break for Season 3. So while we wait for however long it takes to give us that, I'll have to find more things to watch. What you say? Why yes, maybe a Marvel box set could help me get through the monotony! :-)
Now I’m thinking about it what happened to the kid (I forget his name) from the tail that was going to be trained as an engineer? He goes up train, is seen in maybe one episode after that and then never appears in any engine scenes again. He wasn’t in Big Alice, but he also wasn’t in the Snowpiercer engine in the finale either? Given his relationship with Leighton and being the next generation of engineers you’d think he’d get mentioned. Just a thought anyway.
Miles did make a guest appearance: he told Josie that he's working on engineering life systems for their possible future colony and wants to be one of the first people to resettle the planet.
I honestly don't understand how people don't like this show, Every character has grown on me since season 1. Maybe its just because I love the concept of the show, but I love it. will be looking forward to season 3
You are right. Its must see, stop doing anything else viewing in our house. I watch each ep at least three times to first get the impact then the fine details, then just for Sean
Even Layton? His acting is cringy and he doesn't fit the role. C'mon how could the smuggle a large black man with obvious gigantic dreadlocks around the train without anyone noticing? He keeps his eyes open too much, the way he speaks makes me want to tape his mouth and he just speaks utopian none sense.
Series 2 ended with fear and hope, and the chaos of being free. I felt mid series was slow and then ran out of time towards the end. Id prefer an extra episode or two to wrap up certain stories. I do hope series 3 doesn’t follow the movie, but become it own narrative. The comic is slightly weird and the film is too bleak and dark in the ending. I am hope it can run for 5 series in total.
I adored this season of SP & wish you had the time to have done weekly breakdowns but alas this was not to be. Hopefully when season 3 revolves you will give it the weekly love it deserves. Much love to HEAVY SPOLIERS from Scotland, I watch a lot of your content & love the patter. Keep it up m8 & take care.
Personally, if you really look hard at her character and development, it just doesn’t make sense for her to give up and die like that. She’s just met her daughter, and reconnected with her, and all that research, she isn’t likely to give that up. I think regardless that she wrote that letter for Alex, she also had in her mind that if she wrote that she died, and Wilford or someone else found that letter, it’ll sway them to believe she’s also dead, if that’s what she wanted. I just don’t think she gives up easy. And would see Alex not live in a Wilford world. Other wise that letter really suggests a hell of a lot and makes a huge guess in the future that Alex will be ok and Wilford somehow gets overthrown. She’s cunning, and a fighter. So I think we will see her again somewhere.
So many puns i couldn't keep TRACK of them all... you kinda went of the RAILS towards the end... PUNCEPTION ! Awesome vidya, i loved the wonka nod & yh the aquarium scene was awesome, I am certain that when the series ends that our team will leave the train to live on earth & mr wilford will continue doing laps, lying to the remaining people onboard & tying it into the movie as a prequel. *SIDE NOTE Have you seen the new movie "come true" ? i would recommend a watch as it is a great film with a lot of layers & was filmed with only 5 crew members + actors.
man jenny Connelly still that looking pixie that i remember from labyrinth and also let us Hope that is true the Legends of Sir Boromir Stark been granted eternal life
Could you do all of series 2 episodes review with themes and content about 12 weeks before series 3 airs? It would allow us to refresh on the show and countdown to the premium of the next series.
Great breakdown Paul, thanks! Like you I believe Melanie will be back. Snowpiercer is like the MCU where you have to assume nobody ever dies, unless you see a body. And even then... But we won't know until next season, so Schroedinger's Melanie is both alive and dead. I suspect we'll see her again once it's been long enough that we've almost forgotten about her.
Am I the only one that thinks whether or not Melanie is dead has nothing to do with the story, but is dependent on the actress, Jennifer Connelly, and how involved she wants to be (maybe due to busy schedule or interests in other projects, etc)?
the only thing that dissapointed me this season was that miles was put completely on the backburner. He got his brief appearance to cheaply explain his disappearance, but I feel he had so much more potential. Plus it seems like Josie and Layton have all but forgotten about him. Hopefully he'll have a bigger part in the upcoming seasons
Certain episodes in this season was really hard to watch, as it seems to reflect too much what's reality out there...on this train we all call "new normal". I think the brightest point (emotionally and character-developmentally) was the Melanie episode, and I think they put that there intentionally so that the season would not end on such a down note... Super excited for S3! We could not stop believing that things will get better just because we're comfortable from the status quo that we both benefit and suffer from.
Not entirely thrilled that Wilford survived. However, he's always been the villain and Melanie the hero in both seasons. Melanie used his name, and rules but she kept most alive. She's not dead. The show is not the same without her. I'm ready for season 3!
Thank goodness for Heavy Spoilers because I was super disappointed that Jennifer Connelly wasn’t going to return for season 3. Hopefully it’s not just a flashback.
She's actually confirmed to appear in some form in Season 3 so probably not dead. The showrunner or whatever implied in an interview that Javi's not really dead either. @@AfidaSS She's still confirmed to appear in some form next season so she's probably not gone for good and its been hinted that Javi at least isn't either.
I feel like if they were actually gonna have Melanie die they would show her body and have it be super emotional, She was such a big character that there's no way they wouldn't show her body and have Alex cry over it or something. I feel like she gone out and probably found another base or cave to survive In or maybe someone found her and saved her
Agreed, the writers did a great job developing the characters throughout the show. I hated Ruth at first, but then she became one of my favourite characters.
@@riseofazrael same here. Found Ruth annoying, dumb and a bit useless. Now she’s probably my favourite character, she’s smart, heroic and brave. When she saved Layton from getting his arm cut off, when she spoke to the little girl when she was hiding, when she declined wilfords offer...mwah! Excellence.
I've looked into a couple of theories 1. Travelling to a warm region: From what I saw the closest 'warm' region from Melanie (who is in the rocky mountains) was in Mexico, or approximately 2,931 km / 1821 miles. This journey is too long to go by foot, thus I don't think its plausible that she got to such a region. 2. Another train?: She might have been able to catch 'Icebreaker' a third train from the canonical graphic novel 'Le Transperceneige' (1982), however it should be noted that this train has never been mentioned in the series, after all when Big Alice was first mentioned in Season 1 Episode 10 why wouldn't they also mention the existence of Icebreaker? 3. Going underground: their might be another bunker somewhere around the Rocky Mountains that Melanie was able to get to. 4. Going up: Melanie would have been able to get to a high enough elevation where she would have been able to survive, the highest elevation in the Rocky's is 4.4km: Mount Elbert. In season 2 episode 2, when they were measuring the climate model of the rate at which the CW7 compound was falling, the temperature began to increase after the 4000m above sea level (a.s.l) mark. From 3995m to 4005m a.s.l. the temperature increased from -120°C to -105°C (a 15°C increase). I am going to assume that this increase was constant. This is because in the episode you can hear a beep for each 10°C increase in temperature. After Javi recounts "-96°C" you then hear a beep, another beep is heard at "-86°C" this trend indicates that each 'beep' measures a 10m increase. This trend continues until the temperature hits -26°C, however we don't know if it stopped their or continued. Assuming that for every 15m increase in elevation the temperature also increases by 10°C, then the -26°C mark would be hit well before the 4.15km point and definitely well before the 4.4km mark (highest Rocky Mountain elevation a.s.l.). This indicates that there would be some regions in the Rocky's that may be warm enough for Melanie to survive. It should be noted that the difference in elevation between Breslauer Research Station (3.6km) and Mount Elbert (4.4km) is only 800m. However we don't know exactly where Breslauer is (probably in Wyoming, Utah or Colorado) and thus cannot calculate the distance between it and Elbert. However, it should also be noted that there are at least 50 other mountains in the Rockies exceeding an elevation of 4150m, so Melanie may have reached one of those as well. However, I am less inclined to theory no.4: if there truly were habitable regions in the Rockies wouldn't it show up on the screen at the end of season 2 episode 10?
I didn't know you watched this show bro so I'm glad to see this video. Can't wait for season 3. This show is one of the better shows out there for sure.
I didn't understand Alex's initial loyalty to Wilford. Only at the end of season two does she reveal that "he culled half the people" to save on resources. Why is she expressing disloyalty now when she's always known what a monster he is?
Wilford really played the Savior complex with Alex, he saved her and turned her love for Melanie into hatred. I think Alex was just blind at first because she hated Melanie more than Wilford, but once she realized the truth she began changing sides.
FINALLY!!!! Your episodic breakdown is what I’ve been looking for in this series bec of the good ones you made in season 1... but... you...you got stuck on Mephisto, man!! 😅

Enjoyed the final two episodes, they were tense and had a lot of desperate actions being taken by all sides. Good to see Wilford wasn't killed off and will be in season 3 for when they inevitably reattach both trains and old grudges will reunite. Should be interesting for sure!

they were shown in early season 1 too, just like the movie, its how the tail is "fed"
@Purple Carrot in the film it was meant to be shit but change it to insects in edits.
The only reason they dopnt have enough engineers is because at one point josie and leyton completely forgot that they adopted miles
Miles is engineering life systems for their potential colony. He appeared briefly but his role was much reduced this season for some reason.
@@WarGrowlmon18 miles Actor went to work on other show. Same with jinju
@@mikechansw748 At least they gave an explanation for his disappearance. They gave us nothing to explain where Jinju went despite how important of a character she was even outside of her relationship with Till.
@@WarGrowlmon18 Yea it sucks. Dk why the writers just pretended like she doesn’t exist anymore and hope nobody cares/ are apathetic to the audience’s opinion on that
@@mikechansw748 Maybe they just couldn't find a good way to explain where she went off to.
Felt like the last few mins of episode 10 was rushed! Felt like there was more to explore if they had more time. But all well. I’ll curl up in a ball and wait for season 3 now!!
yeah you can tell when covid started to effect filming, such a shame
It's a shame that Audrey was so easily corrupted by Dubs man, she was a great character
I don't think she is corrupted. I think she is playing the game all the way to the end.
@@WarGrowlmon18 i really hope she found a way to get back on the train and start doing damage in the shadows.
@@madjames2392 Well she's their prisoner now.
@@WarGrowlmon18 Hopefully they bring her back to the good side
Snow piercer is a good metaphor for humanity, especially now during Covid, where majority suffered, bit a few got super rich and benefited heavily.
If Mel was going to die they would have shown it on the show
Right? She was such a central figure in season 1 and 2 that an off-screen death would be straight disrespect.
Mel cant die shes very important to the story of the series
I think show runner has confirmed that she will return for s3
So class here's Snowpiercer Death 101: unless you see a body and a person is confirmed dead, there's a good chance that they AREN'T actually dead. Sometimes even when you see a body, they aren't dead. We got that with Wilford, Alex, Josie and even Kevin class. So who bets that Melanie is not really dead, especially since she's still confirmed to appear in Season 3??? Oh and Javi maybe too??? Opinions class???
are you crazy noone would wonder about s3 if they show it so that was so clever
@@jamiestevens3074 The showrunner said something like you'd be surprised when asked about Javi in an interview.
@@jamiestevens3074 Well I think the Headwoods can do something about Javi specially since he's one of the only two experienced engineering left in the train. Lets just hope for the best for Season 3. I say no corpse, not dead and I think the show cant afford to lose Melanie.
Don't touch me mum, I'm sad and about to cry 😭😭😭😭😭 Mel and Javi 💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔
@gloriapsy if Javi is not dead, headwoods can probably fix him up if not and he died in the jackboots attack, then Wilford is the only person that can make the train move
@gloriapsy bruh....
I think the dog just maulled his face 😶
Wilford's guards are seen dragging Javi away after the dog attack and the producer says we will be surprised when asked if Javi is really dead so im sure hes alive just like Kevin. They will brainwash him!
@@thomaskunz8029 If they brainwash Javi then i'm not watching season 3! He's the best underrated character in the show!
I was hoping theres also other humans surviving out in the cold, like living in a bunker etc
@@Hunpecked I think Snowpiercer was originally supposed to be a Luxury Train. It just got turned into an Ark Train when the Freeze happened.
@Sir Dinzhi that's where Melanie is
@@claudiusndlovu7958 theres still hope that shes still alive, people might've rescued her or something

You and me both!!! this show is so amazing 🔥
Wow. It’s amazing how we’re on different sides of the world and enjoying the same show week by week. I’m in Ireland, we had heavy fog last night and sunshine this morning.
hii im also from the Philippines, im glad that some of us here are watching and supporting this series.
I forgot how good a villain Sean Bean can play. In recent years we know him for playing salt of the earth protagonists. But throughout his career he's played many villains. A mark of a good actor that can play both convincingly
Sean Bean being alive at the end of a second season is shocking itself!
Really missed your breakdowns and puns this season mate
Agreed. Would love if he could do a breakdown of each episode at a later date, perhaps a refresher before series 3 is aired.
The Willy Wanka theory video getting a mention is just perfect lol.
Jennifer Connelly is confirmed to return for Season 3, Flashbacks? or she met someone in the white? Time will tell...
But now i think she’ll realize Wilford really won’t give a damn to protect her and so she has to recalculate her moves here
For the love of god, Sean Bean and Jennifer Connely make the show and are the reason i loved season 2, please don't kill Melanie or Wf (Yet).
Oh and Alison Wrights character development brings me tears of joy
Seriously, their relationship needs closure. Melanie and Wilford need to have a final scene together.
Fuckkk yeah ive been waiting for you to cover this new season for a hot minute! Thanks bro!
Love your breakdowns mate...
Cheers
Fuck yeah I’ve been waiting for you to get around to reviewing this show and now it’s here !
Can’t wait for season 3, Sean Bean has smashed Wilford out the park epic performance
Thank you! This was just the catharsis I needed after catching up to the latest episode :)
I remember seeing him again recently. Like 2 episodes back. When they were moving people out of second could be.
Miles did make a guest appearance: he told Josie that he's working on engineering life systems for their possible future colony and wants to be one of the first people to resettle the planet.
@@WarGrowlmon18 which episode was this? I must have missed it haha
@@ashjonah32 Can't remember exactly which one. 4 maybe??? Just before she got sent to Big Alice I think.
Kevin's scream is my comedy relief until season three brings back more serious moments.
Ayyy Peace and Love from Rhode Island. Me and my girlfriend have been loving snowpiercer.
Missed these breakdowns!! Hopefully when season 3 comes around you can add them to your schedule!
Did he say "Icy Soldier?" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 That's a new hip hop name in the making
Series 2 ended with fear and hope, and the chaos of being free. I felt mid series was slow and then ran out of time towards the end. Id prefer an extra episode or two to wrap up certain stories.
I do hope series 3 doesn’t follow the movie, but become it own narrative. The comic is slightly weird and the film is too bleak and dark in the ending. I am hope it can run for 5 series in total.
Honestly loved this show, The world-building was fantastic and just felt absolutely believable. Can't wait to see what's next
I AM SUCH A BIG FAN OF THE SNOWPIERCER SERIES i loved the ending it was both sad and amazing at the same time
Heyyyyy you did have something saved for Snowpiercer!!!!! That’s awesome that you enjoyed it so much as well man, I freaking love this show
I adored this season of SP & wish you had the time to have done weekly breakdowns but alas this was not to be. Hopefully when season 3 revolves you will give it the weekly love it deserves. Much love to HEAVY SPOLIERS from Scotland, I watch a lot of your content & love the patter. Keep it up m8 & take care.
IM SO HAPPY FOR THIS RECAP
Awesome vidya, i loved the wonka nod & yh the aquarium scene was awesome,
I am certain that when the series ends that our team will leave the train to live on earth & mr wilford will continue doing laps, lying to the remaining people onboard & tying it into the movie as a prequel.
*SIDE NOTE Have you seen the new movie "come true" ? i would recommend a watch as it is a great film with a lot of layers & was filmed with only 5 crew members + actors.
I miss the breakdowns. But the show is one of my favorites as of now! Can't wait until season 3!
I think jossie is going to be key to the future of the Human race !
loved the season, this show should get a lot more attention
man jenny Connelly still that looking pixie that i remember from labyrinth

Could you do all of series 2 episodes review with themes and content about 12 weeks before series 3 airs? It would allow us to refresh on the show and countdown to the premium of the next series.
Great breakdown Paul, thanks! Like you I believe Melanie will be back. Snowpiercer is like the MCU where you have to assume nobody ever dies, unless you see a body. And even then... But we won't know until next season, so Schroedinger's Melanie is both alive and dead. I suspect we'll see her again once it's been long enough that we've almost forgotten about her.
So glad to see a review on this series again
Dude, love your show can’t wait for next season
Ruth has had the best character development ever
Last episodes were EPIC
Im gonna miss Javi and that breachmen Boki. 2 awesome characters played by great actors!
I like to think Melanie is alive tho
I’m going to wait till Netflix. I liked the first season
Am I the only one that thinks whether or not Melanie is dead has nothing to do with the story, but is dependent on the actress, Jennifer Connelly, and how involved she wants to be (maybe due to busy schedule or interests in other projects, etc)?
She's confirmed to return in Season 3. How exactly is unclear though.
She's getting another story line with new characters next season
I see so many comparisons to the recent divisions in US politics recently (Wilford-Trump) etc. Looking forward to season 3.
always enjoy your break down on the shows. thank you for your hard work!
I'm callling it right now: Melanie and Javi are still alive!
Great RUclips Page Dude!!!
Love it!!!
This season did a big u turn I thought the first half of episodes were meh but honestly it got amazing afterwards
First 2 episodes were intense then from 3 started to get gradually boring and slow then from 8 starts to build up again and ep 10 was the most excited
Absolutely loved Season 2. I agree that I think someone found her, possibly even a small colony?
the only thing that dissapointed me this season was that miles was put completely on the backburner.
What's there to flashback about. Flashbacks from Alex spending with her mum.
I feel like she gone out and probably found another base or cave to survive In or maybe someone found her and saved her
Bess Till is my favourite character :D
Glad you are at it now as this was the best thing to come out of the pandemic.
I’m starting to like where this show is going even though doesn’t follow the original, lot of likeable characters
Excellence.
The character i understand the least after watching both seasons is Lilah Junior (LJ). She's confusing.
I've looked into a couple of theories
5:20 "...slits Wilford's throat." No, Alex punctures Wilford's jugular.
That was the biggest shock to Wilford. Really got his mean streak going.
I didn't know you watched this show bro so I'm glad to see this video. Can't wait for season 3. This show is one of the better shows out there for sure.
Hey, why no mention of the introduction of the roach bars that was the tail’s staple food in the movie? 🤣
i love this breakdowns, when you stopped making them on snowpiercer i thaugh you forgot it
I didn't understand Alex's initial loyalty to Wilford.
