A cover of Jerry Reed's 'Struttin'. I first heard this song performed by Tommy Emmanuel, then I researched further and discovered it originally recorded by the great Chet Atkins, but is in fact a composition from the fingerpicking genius Jerry Reed.

@@ZarekSilberschmidt yup. Btw Jerrys picking can be chalenging. This slapping sound all over the tune. What strings gauge do u use?

Hey great question!! The sound comes from the ‘Boom Chick’ technique, it’s a four note per chord movement of the thumb, when the thumb hits the 2nd and 4th part of the movement, I try and pluck both the D string and a little of the G string to get the think slap sound. I hope this is not to confusing, it’s difficult to explain through writer to text. I think I’ll make a video lesson on this topic soon.
