In all of Star Wars? Not even close. The X-83 Twintail carried more torpedoes, was faster, more durable, and more powerful. As a bomber? Again, nope. Anything the Y-Wing could do, the K-Wing could do better, aside from its lack of hyperdrive.

@@jamesleduke873 I don't think the Y-Wing's strength comes from being specifically good at one particular task, but rather being "good enough" at any task you could possible hope for. Its strength lies in its simple versatility; being able to drop bombs, fire torpedoes, and still be able to challenge air supremacy all in one sorty is not to be underestimated, even if it's not the best in any of those categories alone. IMO the best of anything would be something that can do well in any circumstance rather than something that does very well in a particular circumstance.
Could you please do a strategic analysis on naboo like you did with kashyyk last year?

The Y-Wings were great. But like everything great from the Clone Wars, the Empire scraped them and went with other less effective stuff, which is another reason they had to be stopped.
Yeah, now that I think about it, the empire us kind of like when a reputable company gets new management, and they scrap everything for cheaper, quicker solutions
Which doesn't make any sense for a Galaxy spanning empire. If you own all that territory you can literally artificially run the economy instead of just ya know depend on the actual markets. Palps literally did this during the clone wars why couldn't he do this in the Empire? He literally had all political powers and industrail sectors easier to just mix the tarkin doctrine with efficient military forces and police forces.

The only goal of the ball gun is to make the enemy miss. As long as the enemy is so busy dodging fire, they can't line up a good kill shot, keeping the bomber alive. Killing the enemy is just the highest form of making the enemy miss and never take a shot again.

i'd argue that the sluggish trait is for loiter time. the longer you can be on target the more ordinance you can accurately send.
True, and it allows for clones to make droids do certain moves other than a dogfight so it's easier for the to hit droid ships

I love the loyalty and brotherhood (most) clones share, I remember watching the show as a kid and feeling like I was part of the story. Keep up the videos Geetsly!
One of my favorite moments in the show is because of these things.
It's the landing on Point Rain. The 212th is surrounded, on their last legs. As the clones back up to a grouping of crates, an injured and battered Obi-Wan Kenobi pushes himself to his feet, takes a pair of deep breaths, and ignites his lightsaber, ready for one last-
"REINFORCEMENTS! REINFORCEMENTS HAVE ARRIVED!"
With a low hum building up into a scream of engines at full power, a squadron of Y-wings swoop overhead, raining proton bombs into the assaulting separatist forces. A ragged cheer comes up from the clones as Kenobi breaths a sigh of relief and slumps to the ground.

Y wing pilots were clutch during many battles, they deserve big props. We also have to remember the pilot that made it out of a crash when General Grevious boarded kenobi's Venator. A very lucky pilot.

As a pilot in the 104th, having to be the air support all the time sucks. You have to find the point of contact, make sure no clones are within 10-15m of the blast radius, avoid flak, random blaster fire, and environmental hazards like trees or giant kriffing mushrooms, all while hurtling towards the ground. When you fire proton torpedoes, it’s not even over, cause then you have to decrease speed and pull up so you don’t crash, but decreasing speed makes you an easy target for anti-air/surface to air batteries, and you have to avoid those and get their attention on someone else.

Canon: Nah,just strip the clone wars y wings from its armor and remove the bubble turret and just call it a day.
I preferred the BTLA-B to the other two models. It looked really cool, and I loved it whenever they came in to save the day in the clone wars.
Y-Wings are my favourite Star Wars ship.

The A4 may be a classic and an icon for the Rebel Alliance, but if I want to fight the Empire, the BTL-B will be my main bomber, if it could pierce swarms of droid fighters, then the swarms of TIEs will be nothing but easier obstacles, and every ISD will fear them to the core

Would be interesting to see an Analyses of the Arc 170. How effective that was and what exact role it served/ how it was used most of the time. After all it had one more Pilot then even the Y-Wing.
Out of all the ships in Battlefront 2 I love this bomber since its my fav starfighter
BTL-S3 is my favorite. I would’ve used the R-2 as my gunner if I didn’t have extra personnel. It has a torpedo mag of 10 and was only 16 meters.
I think that over the years it’s look becomes more and more rugged.
I feel like it would be cool if there going to be a cargo pod adaptation of this fighter.
Like a: Y-Wing light freighter. Best suited for running through pirate-riddled sectors

That's what I always thought, probably why I've always loved the Y-wing as well since the A-10 has been a fav of mine forever.
