No thats not the reason why . Many " Hifi " speakers have large magnets and large voice coils . But if that magnet is Y45 grade ferrite it wont need to be as big .
These retards think that size is everything. If you look at some of the loudest concert subs you'll see "small" voice coils aswell compared to what a basshead would want.

When i was 15 i was building 1:3 ratio 4th order boxes for my subwoofers . Wasnt that well off so had to make the most of what i had . And it sounded goooood
That sub is way out of the glory days of Canton when they destroyed the competition, from 1974 to 1990 the company made speakers others could only dream of making. I got the GLE 100, their top model and largest speakers that they made up until 1980. Extremely rare, they exist only in Germany really, had to import them. Sound is out of this world, nothing comes close.

BassErex Hah, you wish a 2 inch could beat Dayton. Unless it's the beefiest 2 inch driver ever, it won't hit anywhere near 20 watts. The Daytons are taking ~1400 watts daily without getting warm.

BassErex It must be a car subwoofer then. A normal bookshelf speaker takes 100 clean watts RMS, 140 watts peak. The rated RMS rating is 60 watts.

a Tangband or Dayton 6 1/2" would probably be better. paired to a Dayton 70 Watt Plate amp.

I think this is a Canton AS5. I have an AS10 now (about 100watts) and it shook the eaves :o btw in mine the woofer's facing the other way.
It is an AS 10 actually. See the video when he removes the screws. The type number is on the sticker at the top of the speaker at the left of his left hand.

I got a real nice front fire 12" canton along with 5 surround front towers etc..... its one of there older 5.1 higher end sets though.

The port is kind of big but you can replace the driver in it with one with more excursion so there would be more bass and the sub can blow more too
The issue is Bandpass enclosures are extremely driver sensitive in the T/S Parameters, and you would need to find a driver with _near-identical_ parameters to the original woofer. This is just a very oversimplified explanation. It's not nearly as easy as it sounds.

Canada Kid Yes, but the Canton woofer is so much better than the Logitech. If you put a clean 100 watts into the Logitech it'll bottom out. If you do the same with the Canton it'll take the power with no problems. Even Sony woofers are better than Logitech for their price range.
@@whatismylife3546 the canton looks like a fuckin car door speaker, as the z623 sub actually looks like a nice little sub, yes they bottom out, but that happens to any logitech speaker that size or lower.
i have a z313 system, blew the sub, that shit distorted like crazy, put a different nicer sub in there, and now its all fine, the z313 amp is actually really good lmao.
@@realchronal even the Z523 wasnt very good, the Z623 was decent, the Z323's amp wasnt powerful enough for it's own sub, i was able to bottom it out all the time at full bass and max volume and the woofer didnt even get warm
the X-240 was most certainly better than the 323 and 313, apart from the satellites atleast

I work in a warehouse with all kinds of stuff that people just give away and I'm pretty sure I have the same one standing there in a rack. It's just the sub alone though, don't know where the other speakers went. :)

I had a black one of these with the tiny surround speakers. The tiny speakers are also black. My sub blew out though :(
Found one like this but black in the garbage, took it and hook it to my Marantz NR1603 ,sure it is not a good Sub , but actually working and sound not too bad. And yes it is not so powerful.
My 10 inch Magnat Sub is sound much better.

Ita a isobaric 4th order, 6th order has poorts on the front of the sub and the back of the sub
Actually it depends. He might've ment a quasi-6th order bandpass, but mistakingly said the chamber inside the outer one was sealed, instead of ported. Quasi-6th order bandpass boxes are weird. basically a ported box in a ported box. I had a shitty one with my old RCA rt2770, bass response was peaky as and the bass was far from sub bass. They can be brilliant boxes, but are very difficult to perfect afaik.
Update: never mind, it is a 4th Order bandpass.

Tuned in between 2 frequencys eg port 1 tuned to 25hz and port 2 tuned to 40hz

Yep that's a type of mosfet. Mosfets replace transistors in class A/B amplifiers. Class D amps don't use mosfets that uses a special I/C.
I know both are IC's. I meant that Class D uses a different IC design then a A/B mosfet amplifier. A class D is a hybrid amplifier that's linear rather then push-pull, though people often mistake Class D amplifiers for using mosfet to drive speakers.

You could get a dayton plate amp that can take 4 ohm. Just make sure the amp has a little more wattage than the sub can theoretically take.
is there a way i can get away with only 1 amplifier? (the klipsch towers are rated for 150w at 8 ohms each)
