I agree; however, as both were professional racecar drivers (Tiff in F1 and GT racing and Jason in Touring Car racing), the deficit between the two would have likely been less than a second around the track. They are equally skilled, with Jason being a tad quicker, whilst Tiff arguably has better car control. Overall, whilst in principle, I'd like to control as many variables as possible (meaning only one driver), in practice, I think the test would have likely ended the same way no matter who was driving based on the gap they observed.
Without aids you learn from your mistakes and progressively become better driver! It is also much more fun. You don't do the track days for wining a price - your job isn't race driver. It is for fun. And lets face it 90% of the electronic are annoying and literally ruin the cars!
I think though even if you turn most of it "off", somethings are actually still on. It's just more off then on, but still not completely off... It's just giving you a bit more control... but the computer is still there and helping you out although not that much... I think actually it was the same almost 20 years ago with R34... They should have done a better test... same drivers on and off, i.e both should have driven it on/off...
No, it's not pointless. Driving the GT-R without the computer without computer do feels different than with computer. I know this because I had driven one.
I have a '15 911 Turbo S. I'm faster with the driver aids off (or as off as they can be). I'm embarrassed to say that my times are nearly identical between automatic and manual shifting.
NuclearGrizzly you're embarrassed to say your shift times aren't any faster than the technological wonder known as PDK? I'd be surprised if they were even the same as it
I’ve never timed myself with and without, but I’m almost certain I’d be the same. When I’m racing I’m constantly doing things that the computers in modern road cars just don’t permit. Max grip for starts is with a little slip, plus slight oversteer pre-apex is often faster as it gets the car rotated early.
Watching Tiff and Jason going on about cars is better than laughing at the Top Gear boys mocking around Btw the best way to improve the GTR is by gutting all the unecessary weight
Even the Nismo version gets destroyed by R8 and 911 Turbo. Obviously it has improved over the years, but so have its rivals, which are step ahead of GT-R now
They should have gotten both to drive with on and off to get better results, what if the other is just simply a better driver on this track?
Zeppo yes indeed, the test is not complete enough to reach a conclusion.

I'm pretty sure Plato is a better driver than Tiff, but yes, this is by no means a scientific test.
I was thinking the same. Would be a fairer test
@@Obi-WanKannabis Didn’t Plato reach FR, but Tiff F1?
I always think the Fifth Gear episodes were filmed in the 90s.
bbb12345 because they're still using 90's topgear format, they used to be in top gear before clarkson change the format
Same

Sure if you have the money and life to do the mistake lol
Once a GTR fan always a GTR fan ❤️
The first edition R35 still looks the best imo
Still...it's not exactly a looker is it.
I've always preferred the looks of the R-34
No! The R35's just too ugly.
The very first gen KPCG10 and the R34 looks better than that.
I think the 2012-2016 facelift is my favorite. The interior is the current is much better though

No way a GTR does a 1:12 on Yas Marina. F1 lap record is 1:40... Must have been a short circuit.
Yes, there is a short course version.
different drivers so a pointless test

Randy Probst is faster shifting manually. That's right. I just compared myself to Randy Probst :-)

The answer is at 1:32
they should have called it tiffgear
It’s 2017 and the video quality is from decades ago , even a phone can film better then this
Yeah if you're Tiff
Watching Tiff and Jason going on about cars is better than laughing at the Top Gear boys mocking around

Top Gear? Oh you mean, the Grand Tour? 😎
Farhan Ahmad Tajuddin same
Eu achei legal vocês terem feito o teste do Nissan GTR na Arábia saudita.
if you are Tiff turn off computer otherwise it turns you off
Original R35 was the best, it's kind of lost it's point over the years. Not as fast as the supercars anymore and it's quite pricey aswell
Hea Mees Really !!! Go look some reviews of new GT-R friend. ....The new is is best
Even the Nismo version gets destroyed by R8 and 911 Turbo. Obviously it has improved over the years, but so have its rivals, which are step ahead of GT-R now
Hea Mees Yeah If that's the matter then You are right .
