    I’m absolutely in love with how they display emotion in this anime. It’s not about “we’ll win with friends”, it shows the complexities of how each character feels in scenarios. Even bad assets like apeas and bosse are shown expressing grief. It shows the male audience that it’s okay to cry, it’s healthy

    • @littleorphananimeYT
      @littleorphananimeYT  2 года назад +6

      Never thought of this. Those expressions of grief really do help humanize characters who might otherwise be one-note villains.

    This show does “show, don’t tell” better than any other show I’ve ever seen.
    And honestly I like this show more than most anime I’ve ever seen. Including death note that didn’t get nearly as much of an emotional reaction out of me.

      While I'm not sure if I can compare the two, for me the Western Animation 'Arcane', done by Fortiche Studios has to take the cake for me, but I agree! As a self-proclaimed "biggest fan" of that story telling technique, Ousama Ranking definitely blew me out of the water with how many times I went, AHA!, you gotta love when shows take the time to provide those early visual details. Good day to you my brother.

    It's my new favorite anime. Love how the story is very condensed, never a slow moment or filler episode, each thing leads to the next, or a flashback will give you more context. Animation and music was very cinematic.
    10/10 Bojjis

    • @littleorphananimeYT

      Yeah, I kept looking for a "gotcha!" moment in the early episodes where it looked like Bojji reacted like a hearing individual, but I couldn't find any. Maybe there are some, but I never noticed. Eventually I just came to trust the show and go along for the ride.

    I'm suprised there are so many "casual netflix anime fans" that hate this show like I see them in this comment section and others like them disliking this anime. I've been watching anime since the golden age and boy there are a ton of bad ones, this one stands out more than any this season.
    The story is consistent and the themes are consistent the only reason those casual netflix anime fans hate this is because they are the type to judge based on what is seen, they see a kid, they see a character that looks low budget, then they see characters doing things that make no sense to them and the final reason they hate this show is because it makes them look like hypocrites.

    My little problem with the series was its narration, and the use of flashbacks and characters. I felt like some developped way too quickly, some were expanded upon way too late, some were forgiven way too easily (yeah... Miranjo tho...) like... Eh? I'm still salty bout her. But anyways, i've had some problems with some plot points, related to flashbacks, like the bosse ritual thing, the gods war thing, we've had a glimpse of its repercussions thanks to desha and despa, but i expected a little more? Some expansion on the worldbuilding, like Gigan's people, the Shadow clan... To sum it up, i've had only problems with Worldbuilding and flashbacks. Other than that, great anime. A solid 9/10 on my list! Good video!

    The title of the video is how I feel about this anime. It's a great anime but adds in all these things that literally made no sense at all. For example why would Boss attack everyone near the last episode only to heal them and then fight them right after. It literally made absolutely no sense. Miranjo thing was that she wanted to make boss wish come true but how the heck does murdering his wife help that? Why did she want him to have another kid so he can go into that child's body when it's clear that he would be upset about the entire thing. Why the heck did the queen leave the castle when she was told it was going to be an attack on her only to come right back to the castle 🤦🏾‍♂️.

      Exactly. King Bosse didn't do anything about his wife's murder. Like what?
      I love the first half, but the second half is the confusing part, like what's their motivation to the current timeline? The characters are complex, I get that, but seeing how they play out, it feels incomplete. The biggest miss for me is Ouken. He had so much potential becoming a major antagonist yet it was overshadowed by Miranjo's ordeal.

How would she know where these people are if she's a kid that travels with him. • @JavierGomezX
      @JavierGomezX 2 года назад +7

      Yeah, I got some friends that didn't like the last parts of the anime because of qualms like those you have. I understand where you are coming from, but those things don't bother me that much personally. It is not like it ruins the rest of the show. My personal interpretation was that Bosse's priority was Miranjo, but it is not like he didn't care about the other things in his life. He wanted a compromise where everyone would just accept Miranjo's will, so he gave his new friends one last chance to accept the conditions of his old friend.
      In his eyes, he already betrayed all of them for Miranjo anyways. He married both of his wives just to please Miranjo, cursed his own son for his own desires AND to please Miranjo. He used his family and friends, so of course he would feel guilt and pity for them... But he felt even more guilt and pity for Miranjo. He wouldn't even have the family he had and his kingdom without Miranjo anyways, not to mention he owed a invaluable debt to her parents. It is a difficult position to put yourself in, since everybody is a victim of some sort. And to top it all off, nobody is truly blameless in the story... Except Bojji. Which is the reason only HE could stop the crisis. Not out of guilt or selfishness but out of the purity of his heart... Just like in the old stories of noble knights and their gallant deeds.

    Had a strong start but didn't live up to its potential in the 2nd half. Boji became the strongest too easily, characters who should have died simply got healed, and Miranjo got off scot free despite the crimes and atrocities she caused. Point is, there's no consequences, and it becomes a glaringly obvious issue.
    There's other issues I have with the story telling like the overuse of flashbacks, particularly right before something with 'x' character is about to happen and some episodes noticeably dipping in animation quality, with some fights being still images with sounds to cut on animation.
    I'm not going to read the manga (translation isn't even past the anime and the art is terrible) so I'd like to see a season 2 as the world itself is quite creative and has potential and to finish off the other plot points that didn't conclude.
    In the end I rated it a 7/10 but it only stays that high for the art and animation, the story itself is more like a 5/10.

      I dissagree with a lot of this, obvious spoiler warning
      "Bojji became the strongest to easily"
      It's revealed the Bojji has essentially trained in secret throughout his whole life. He is the son of two incredibly strong/strongest giants and is only missing muscle strength, not perception, intuition, talent or anything else. Even before training with the rapier, Miranjo predicts him to be the strongest in the land. It's not something that happened easily or suddenly, it just happened before the show started.
      "There are no consequences, characters that should have died simply healed"
      Why should they have died? Does the theme of having people traumatically and regretfully dying fit with anything else in the show? To be clear you might not enjoy it, but it's not out of place and definitely not a marker of story being bad, that most if not all survive. There are definitely consequences though, lost limbs, Ouken is still suffering indefinitely, Bosse is permanently dead, Desha is taking a deal foreshadowed to lead to disaster, Bojii realising his dream is not to lead Bosse kingdom but create his own. To me it's been more interesting to have characters not be as 1-dimensionally evil an be able to grow and change viewpoints when receiving new information.
      What would you like to happen with Miranjo? Her dream of travelling the world with Bosse is gone. As every character in the show grows to be more empathetic and understanding, this being the theme, what sorta punishment for Miranjo would be fit to include?
      "Overuse of flashbacks", I just don't have the same impression, the dip in animation quality I didn't notice I felt it went up as the season went on, soundtrack was also good quality. I'm hoping you are not meaning the thematic gag animations.
      One thing I do agree on is that reading the manga is probably not worth it, my impression from about 25 chapters in is that most of the story was told better in the anime adaption, things being reordered, scenes hiding more information made the show more interesting and less predictable than reading the manga would be. And yeah if you care about it, the quality of the drawings in the manga is definitely not impressive.

I believe your energy with anime is really low and you are wanting to hate it because deep down you can't reach that level like everyone else which is respected but you shouldn't force yourself to watch something you don't like.
      If you can't compose an argument that is realistic then you don't get traction.
