Algorithm doing it’s thing, and it’s working.
Always nice to see Imageepoch in any form of discussion in current year.
And with that, a discussion about 7th dragon, such a shame it never got officially released in the west, the history for the 7th dragon as a whole is fascinating one to me.
7th dragon III was the only entry I got around to playing in the series like some others out there, the difficulty spike was a surprise in that game. But, in the end I did enjoy my time with it.
Anyways, bring on more of that imageepoch goodness.

Imageepoch games are tremendously interesting, as their company's story. Im glad to see more content based on them and their works. Thank you

I don’t know why RUclips randomly recommended this to me but I’m glad
Never played any of this series but I do have 7th Dragon III Code VFD installed on my 3DS

Theres a youtube channel called "The Hipster Snek" that reviewed all 4 games. (though he used fan translations and not the original japanese like this youtuber does)

I’m so mad that you linked to a phenomenal LP of this game after a really good and interesting review, only for that LP to end -right- before the ending sequence! Truly you’re a master of torture.

Edit: Kazuya Niinou’s catalogue is just incredible, and I want to see the other ones in his resume get covered

Really interesting video on 7th dragon that goes even into some of the jp side of things which i appreciate, i played all 3 of them before starting to learn japanese so some things didn't really bother me but were kinda rough in hindsight
The team building and fun flow of combat are definitely a highlight on top of the very nice artstyle/character design in general and im glad you mentioned that its not for everyone as i feel the same about a lot of games the more time passes
Really looking forward to Arc Rise as i played it with an undub so the story was kinda hard to follow but the dialogue didnt wanna make me wanna mute the game and a combat system that really took everything to figure out
Keep up the good work! サンキュ

I really appreciate the battle animations on each of the different portraits of the classes, considering that in most RPGs around the time with first person view combat, the characters were pretty much just portraits, while 7th Dragon went the extra mile to give each different portrait it's unique flair and charm.

The entire 7th Dragon series is great to play through. They're very cozy.
There's a lot of mechanical depth to them, but they're also not so hard that you need perfect understanding to win.
And, as you said, all the extra embellishments to the game aren't really done too well, but you play it for the combat and what you can do with it.

I only watched a small portion of this video as I plan to eventually play the fan translation, but this game looks SO damn good, and I definitely look forward to eventually doing that.
Also, I love how they implemented an entire alternate OST in 8-bit/chiptune style. The only other game I can think of that did that specifically is Pokémon HGSS, and even then, I think that's a post-game thing. I'd probably play through the first time with the original soundtrack, but if I ever played it a second time (And assuming the retro OST stays unlocked even into new games), I'd definitely use the retro one. :)

I loved that opening. Where was it from again. Etrain odyssey 2?

      @maroXUprising 2 месяца назад +1

Yep, it’s EO 2 untold’s opening, “reaching out for our future.”
God, til this day I am still upset they never made an untold remake for EO3 for the 3DS.
      I guess it’s nice to play EO3 in HD…along with EO1 & 2, but, it’s just the untold entries for 1 & 2 are just better imo.

I've played this franchise before, years ago so I wasn't interested in watching this review.
However, RUclips recommended me this video after 7 days it was uploaded. I knew it was a sign XD

That feeling when I'm hearing about ImageEpoch for the first time... While owning at least four of their games.
And I don't really hate them. Sure, I see they're usually horribly flawed, but... I don't know, there's just something about them I find charming. Need to find time to finish my quest for Platinum in Time and Eternity, and also just... figure out Arc Rise Fantasia. I'm sure once I beat the first boss, it'll all be smooth sailing from there, right? ....right?

it's not fair nintendot keep all the exclusive games while most pc games are ported to their inferior console.

The PSP version is hands down the best iteration of 7th dragon. The NDS is too hard with ridiculous 5 steps random encounter. The 3DS got stupid story of multi-billion company hiring 3 random gamers to fight dragon with time machine also with cheesy difficulty, meanwhile PSP had the player as new recruits of government secret agent meant to combat supernatural entities (also the PSP got Hatsune Miku collab).
3DS got more features, but it was way too easy and the writing is just bad, with time machine they should be able to call help from protagonist from PSP timeline since they saved the world twice. The PSP story is much better, the first PSP game had everyone depressed, selfish, incompetent, and egoist, this result in a lot of conflict between people and so many people dead due to lack of skill and cooperation, then second game show us the result of their character development from the first game, seeing what they went through actually progressing between game is great. In terms of story and gameplay, PSP is just plain best. Sega should have let Atlus handle the 3DS version of 7th dragon after buying the IP.
Poor Imagepoch, died since 2015. May they rest in peace.
