- Is this the best sounding LMDh? Cadillac's V-LMDh shows off it's monstores sound as the 5.5 liter V8 engine in the back of the Hypercar roars out on track. The V-LMDh won the best sounding hypercard award on a previous video I made, plus there has been a lot of talk about how incredible the Cadillac sounds, so with that in mind I thought it would be a good idea to make a 2 minute video on just the sound of this LMDh entry.

@@FriendlyCroock yes lol, more interesting and varied cars, more teams, and better racing, is infinitely superior to one or two teams going 2% faster with bland f1 style development.

Imagine being the Engineer that had the pleasure of saying to the board of directors "yep, we're done come and see. Nah, you wont need ear defenders, she's real quiet on start-up"

Coolest part is that we will be able to hear it time and time again when they go to the pits compared to years prior. I was a skeptic myself about the hybrid age but holy hell, bring it on.

@@UniverseIndistries apparently you haven't heard about the new Vettes that are in the works. The new E-Ray is hybrid, and there are rumors of one if not more hybrid models in the works.

The hybrid start up is so so so good. I showed it to a buddy of mine today who hates EVs. I prefaced it by saying the car sounds insane. Once he heard the electric whine he started laughing at me. Then when the engine came to life his face went blank and his eyes got all big. Was hilarious
@TreyR I also hate EVs but this is a damn good exception... because it sounds like a beast that woke up pissed off
Well this aint an electric car, 90% of the time it runs on gas so
I'm not to fond of EVs but if the electric motor is used for more go (LaFerrari, McLaren P1, LMDh group in endurance racing), I'm in. Let's face it, nothing will ever beat 0-60 acceleration of electric motor, so if we can have best of both world, that would be awesome. Also that 5.5 V8 does sound mean as hell, I remember first time I saw IG reel of it driving out of the pits. that transition is one of the best things I've heard.

There's three sounds in life that absolutely send me into the nut zone:
1. A10 Warthog cannon
2. Star Wars Slave-I Seismic Charge
3. Cadillac LMDh Bump Start

Never get tired of that blaring startup V8 engine after the electric motor shuts off, goosebumps everywhere
The electric motor doesn't shut off i think, it just has torque level configurations if i recall correctly
It's always either giving torque or sapping energy to charge the batteries
Hybrid tech will put NA back on the table and I'm here for more NA V10s
The electric motor shutting off would cause problems, it replaces some of the roles of the ICE like powering accessories.
As an F1 fan, this thing looks quick as hell
WEC Hypercar and IMSA LMDh, which what was LMP1 in WEC. They are easily the second fastest racecars in the world and can with the "gloves off," so to say, can set lap times similar to F1 cars. The carbon fiber tubs of those cars can look quite similar to F1 cars with all the body panels missing.

I hope I'm not the only one who thinks this, but that engine's sound honestly almost sounds like the engines that the NASCAR Cup cars use. AND I LOVE IT!

A Nascar engine is 5.9 (i think i'm not American), this is a 5.5, almost the same engine
@@spikespeak918 Yep, NASCAR runs a 5.9, though they're pushrod motors and spin even higher than the Cadillac. There's some absolute madman in New Zealand that threw an unrestricted Roush Yates FR9 in a Shelby GT500 touring car and it happily revs to 11k RPM.
This car is proof that the rawness of Motorsports has a future.
That Turbos, Electricity and Muffled Sound isn't the only way forward.

Once F1 gets their hands on eco fuels, you never know what kinds of sounds we'll be hearing *again* in the future.

It sounds like a Z4 GT3 with slightly different pitch. Considering the Z4 GT3 is one of the best sounding race cars of all time...yeah, its up there.

This car is a fucking monster no two ways about it. This literally makes even some of the nicest sounding f1 cars sound like a 17 year old on a moped.
The start up and glide coming out the pit box really have that Batmobile vibes.

Looking good.. it really seems to hold the track well. As soon as it leaves the pit box and comes off the electric power, that LMC55R just blares. Sounds great.

this thing sounds perfect, its like a nascar but deeper and higher rpm. ive been trying to find a modern race car similar in sound but i havent found one. i initially thought of the c6.r but thats a far lower revving and deeper sound so a nascar or a v8 supercar are the only things that are in the same ball park.
The switch from electric to combustion sounds like something straight out of the pits of Hell.. awesome 👌
