Oh, wow, really? Compliment your dad for the great and excellent job they are doing. Can you ask him if this car I filmed is really the 2024 EVO version? This is a doubt that always remains with me.
I think the base is more than kompetitiv. Just take a look at the results in Le Mans. Finish at Pos. 3,4 and 7. Porsche lost all 4 cars in 2 hrs. Or Daytona 24 hrs, they finished 3,4 and 5.
I wonder about that, I was hoping that Cadillac would have considered an two-car effort in WEC as they do in IMSA, but that is not in the cards for this year. I think that the only other concern that I have with the V-Series.R is that from all the reports around the car, from even the drivers, is that it drives on a knifes edge in race trim. You see with how the drivers have to wrangle with it when traffic hits, and how aggressive drivers are with the car. It makes for some spectacular driving, until your luck runs out.... and for this program, it has. A Lot. They are competitive, but it going to take more work to get the performance where podiums are a constant. And the grid will not back down.
Give it a couple decades, when the Cadillac LMDh becomes a classic, people will remember it much more fondly than the other hypercars. Because it just has so much more personality, regardless if it succeeds or not, like the McLaren F1 GTR Longtail, racing fans will always remember this car more than most other Hypercars.

I was fortunate enough to see IMSA at Laguna Seca this year and let me tell you, you know when these guys are coming. When they fly by you, you feel it in your chest. Man what a sound and feeling
These are the sensations that every racing car should leave behind. If we are surprised that only a few cars have the magic to do this, we can say that nowadays motorsport has taken the wrong way.
I saw them at Long Beach and they do sound awesome, especially compared to the rest of the field but I really miss the absolute thunder of the Corvette C7.R. That car was the sound of death metal on wheels. Also the historic IMSA GTP cars sound incredible. Mazda RX-792P, Toyota Eagle MK III, Jaguar XJR-9. With the exception of the Cadillac and maybe a couple others, modern race cars sound pathetic to what they used to be.
When you take a closder look at the race in Laguna Seca, it was unbelievable. Bourdais Caddy was at the last position at the beginning, and he won the race👍👍👍 Pos 1 & 2 was Caddy 👍👍👍👍 ah yeah !!! 👍👍👍

Cadillac v series r looks amazing with no livery exposed carbon fibre wow. Also I can't really see any changes to the aerodynamics of the car. 1:46 what a flyby can't believe anyone c would consider these cars slow. Look at that cornering speed.
Anyone who thinks these cars are slow has never seen them in person. I'm used to seeing everything, including F1 and I can confidently tell you that these cars are fast. I agree about the all-black carbon bodywork, it drives me crazy too, beautiful 👍
Yikes! Now that is an amazing and brutal engine noise. So cool. Not the scream of tiny little pistons going incredibly fast. I hope they seriously race it.
To be fair, those big pistons are still moving pretty damn fast. The 5.5L V8 revs out to 8.8k RPM, and the gearbox is clearly set up to keep it up there as much as possible. I'm not as familiar with WEC, but in IMSA's GTP class, only the Acura revs higher, with its Indycar-derived 2.4L V6 redlining at an eye-watering 10k RPM
I haven't had the chance to hear that engine live yet, I hope I get to hear it soon. I agree with your consideration regarding the sound of the engines, F1 should also change and do something in this direction 👍
In Marshall Pruitt's Rennsport video he and Patrick Long said the V8 in the 963 is from the RS Spyder. Seems most of the turbo engines are so efficient there is little energy "wasted" in sound @@BlitzMekanika

I had the chance to see one of these up close in Michigan at the annual Eyes on Design show a few months ago. Very impressive car design and tech. I love how they captured the signature Cadillac vertical tail lights on the race car. It did very good for its development year and expect it to be in top competitive form soon. I heard the power used in this video...about 650 hp as I recall....was turned way down from what it could produce...over 1000 hp. I am a retired engineer and those scenes of the car running in the wet revealed some really trick aero. Did you notice the lack of a big rear wing? The aero is internal on the car using routing of air under and through the car to minimize drag while still providing huge amounts of down force.
Everything you say is correct, even about aerodynamics. As for power, I'm pretty sure that 650 hp is the maximum regulation limit because even the Ferraris and Lamborghinis I filmed recently have the same power as Cadillacs.
The overall power isn't 680hp/500kW. That's a baseline for wheelpower. Actual wheel power, depending on BoP is between 510 and 525kW (694-714hp). The actual engines power is between 797 and 821hp.
