The only thing I have running for me is acceding academically, (99th percentile in all my tests, A+ student, and I skipped a grade). Do you think I can get all my achievements and ECs (that I genuinely do have passion in) in this one year I have before getting into a highschool?
Yes. Hi! Im going to be an international student looking into ivy leagues, does the high school matter that much as i doubt they will know of secondary schools outside the us?
I have 18-21 AP classes at my school (I think), and I’ll probably take 9. Is that enough? I can’t fit any more than that in my schedule I’m pretty sure
And I couldn’t start freshman year because I think there are only 2 APs allowed for that year and both of them weren’t what I was interested in. Then sophomore year I took 0 as well because I wasn’t in honors history freshman year (so I couldn’t move up to APUSH)
Hey limmy, I wanted to ask about the sat, what score is considered like okay for these top schools like yale and would it be better for me to apply to yale wirh 5/5/4 ap scores since rhey are test flexible, and because my sat is pretty mid
I’m in a similar position looking at the test flexible at Yale, it really depends on what your SAT compared to your environment is. A 1450 from a public school in West Virginia would boost an applicants profile while a 1500 from a top private school would probably be a negative
Did top schools ever accept mid-GPA students? Our school doesn't offer ranking because it's a small private school, but I'm around the top 12-13% of the class. What if I'm an international student and we don't have AP classes here? Do I have a chance if I'm a top student in my Lyceum? I don't really have many opportunities in my country due to war. Last question, where can I check my essays?
About the first questions, I believe they'll be understandable if you have no AP's, since there's not much you can even do about it About war, that's what your essays are for. You can justify the lack of any parts of your application with your essays, explaining your life has been tough, not many opportunities and talking about whatever you have been through in war About essays, I believe it's in Common App website (Someone correct me if I'm wrong at some point please)
how would you rank the 4 main parts of the application in terms of importance to an AO? As in, essays, ECs, stats, and awards. If there is benchmark for GPA and SAT/ACT, then does it even matter anymore after you've met that benchmark. I'm asking this because I feel almost every competent applicant in the pool applying to these unis is going to meet this benchmark. And I also feel like most will have very similar ECs and awards, like Olympiads, Research publications, founders of NPOs, and presidents of clubs at their school. Are essays the most important, then?

I was wondering if there was any quota per continents/countries as I know there are probably only 3 or 4 people each year from my island going into such schools, so will they be more lenient when considering our applications than, i.e, the applications of US candidates? Also for extracurriculars I'm in the national football team and the Liverpool academy (their African 'branch' is in Mauritius), so are those strong extracurriculars, or do they focus more on volunteering i.e? @@tadh1 everyone has different opinions which make it confusing even after watching the video. it doesn’t take a lot to be kind, if you don’t have good intentions then just don’t reply.
@@ni4940 i don’t think there are any different opinions on this question

What are my chances with a 3.0 gpa in 11th?
Unless you have extreme extenuating circumstances or some great parts of your app (like a amazing essay, volunteering, awards, or SAT) it’ll be very rough. 3.0 is the average GPA of the USA, and Ivy’s aren’t looking for average.
@mishaf19 I am an immigrant with family issues and mental health problems(now I'm fine).I changed the education system too, which impacted my performance

Hi , I’m a british student applying to ivys and I have kinda mid ECs still published Astro research , non profit volunteering , math olympiads (not IMO or anything )e.t.c. But not all of my activities are up to ivy standard and dont have these awards and the quantity most American students have because I go to an awful public British Highschool with less opportunities. Will they take my lack of access to as many opportunities into account or will I be held to the same standard as the US students ?
Astro research is pretty sick

30 kids to each ivy league......
No private boarding school has 240 kids in their senior year going to ivy leagues... there's not even that many students.
😁
Hey Lim, I am indian and live in a foreign country and go to international school. I am gonna go to grade 10 next year, I just wanted to ask how do you find extracurricular/intership and other opportunities to further enhance my application as I am not sure how I should do this. If possible can we connect more through instagram or any other way possible?
