    The reason there are fewer "official" visitors is that there are no gated entrance/toll booths where the majority of cars/visitors are stopped and funneled towards so rangers can get an accurate count. Instead visitation is mostly counted by the number of people who voluntarily stop by the free visitor center and MAYBE a few popular trailheads. The majority of park entrance is through hike ins, most of which are at the ends of deep forest roads. Make no mistake, there is more than enough vehicular traffic in the tourist/summer season to crowd popular trailheads and overflow parking onto highway shoulders for at least a mile in both directions. Plan accordingly.

      uwlwsrpm Thanks for the heads up. So do the crowded trail heads and overflow parking during the summer apply to weekends only or is it busy during the week as well? I read a review somewhere that even though crowds won't reach Rocky Mountain National Park numbers, it does get busy on weekends.

    Thanks for this! I'll need to check out Diablo Lake and Washington Pass Overlook. I was thinking of doing a day trip to Maple Pass Loop! :)

      You're welcome! Diablo lake, I think, is by far my favorite--especially better at 7:00 if you can head down there and soak in the water for a bit (especially on a hot day). Have a fun and safe travels!

      Hi! Tnx for watching :) Here's the full shot of that video at 7:00 - Quick Detour to Diablo Lake. It's Diablo Lake itself. It's located just a short walking distance by side of the trail at the starting point of the Thunder Knob trail hike.

    Awesome vid helped me out a lot planning our day trip there! I have a question and if you mentioned this in the video I apologize I missed it but what month and time of year did you go? The weather looked great!

      Thanks for watching and glad it helped! I don’t think I mentioned it, so thanks for asking-we went on a Thursday morning back in June 30, 2022 just before 4th of July weekend that year.

    Hi there,
    So you started on Washington pass overlook (furthest east point) of all your stops right?

    • @LloydSim
      @LloydSim  Год назад +1

      Hi! Tnx for watching. Yes, that’s what we did as it makes more sense (for us) since Washington Pass Overlook is about 40 or so miles east of Gorge Overlook Trail and it took us roughly 1 hour last time to get there from Gorge Overlook Trail due to some minor traffic
