- North Cascades National Park in Washington is the 2nd least visited national park in the lower 48 states, but don't think that means North Cascades isn't worth a visit. North Cascades is 100% worth it!
Only a 2 and a half hour drive to this beautiful national park covered in waterfalls and sparkling turquoise lakes like Gorge Lake, Diablo Lake, and Ross Lake. Just outside the park you can do a short hike to the Washington Pass Overlook with views of the Liberty Bell Mountain. A must see is Ladder Creek falls behind the Gorge Powerhouse near the visitor center. You can easily take a day trip from Seattle to this hidden gem.

Thank you! It’s such a beautiful place. I want to go back when it’s sunnier to enjoy more hiking. Hello from Utah ❤️ Thanks again for watching and commenting.
So glad you enjoyed it and so bummed that we were out of town that weekend, otherwise we totally would have joined you!! So honored to be the “local friend” 🥹❤️. Fantastic video with lots of great tips!
Thank you for the awesome recommendation! We’ll definitely be back. We really liked Seattle and Washington and there’s still so much left to explore. ❤️
Great video, detailed explanation is good, it's a place I want to go
Thank you! You should definitely visit. It’s even prettier in person.
Thank you for sharing!

Very good orientation. Thanks from Spokane.
Thank you! And thanks for watching 😊
Great job on video. We went there in july.
Thank you! How was it in July? I’d love to go back when it’s a little warmer and sunnier.
This was my Park.I was stationed in 1979 at Sedro Woolley. I was at Stehekin, Crater Lake,. Mt St. Helen from Cle Elm.
What a beautiful place to be stationed! I hope you enjoyed the video 😊
@@AnyoneCanTravel Thank you very much. Glad to see it.
North cascades in May is an interesting choice.
Typically by mid July the slow has mostly melted.
We don’t live in Washington so we went over Memorial Day weekend since we had time off. It was definitely a little early in the season. I wanted to see waterfalls and in May I was told there would be too much snow at Rainer and heard Cascades would be a little better even if there is still some snow. It was still beautiful. Of course if you can go in mid June that’s great but not everyone can.
Makes sense. Completely agree that Mt Rainier’s too snowy at that point.
I think many of the mountain areas are pretty snowy in Washington into July, including Hurricane Ridge on Olympic National Park.
North Cascades is certainly less travelled than some of the other areas in the state.
Wow, it looks so much lush! Could you tell if other people were hiking the snow covered trails with boots or snowshoes?
It’s was so beautiful! We did see some people that were cross country skiing, so I bet snowshoeing or boots with spikes would have worked too. Living in Utah you’d think we’d be more prepared for snow 😂
Cool video. What month of the year was the visit? - Nevermind - Just got to that point of the video. I will be there for the first time this upcoming June. Can't wait!
June will be beautiful! Late May was a little early but still worth it. It’s such a beautiful place. I hope you have a great trip!
Nice vid , which month was it ?
Thank you! This was almost a year ago the end of May 2022.
