Great video now the smart thing to do would be to mount the speakers from underneath when reinstalling very simple by getting I believe they're called clip nuts that way you don't have to go through this hassle again
Thank you so much. Your video is wonderful. I'm not sure what's happening with my car speakers. They are giving out static sounds. I'm gonna replace my speakers hopefully that helps.
If it’s static it’s most likely a ground wire in the head unit ( CD player ) if it’s when your using the radio it’s the antenna connection. Both of these would mean you need a need CD player head unit and not speakers .
Adding to what Mr S said, it could also be a torn speaker (as was the case in the video), some debris on top of the speaker or a loose connection. Hope you get to the bottom of it!
My condolences. 🙂 It's an awful lot of trouble to have to go through just to change speakers, but it's the only way to do it unless you don't mind getting in there with a grinder.
Thank you so much Maynard. This video reallly helped me. I was breaking my head for the longest trying to figure it out. If I may add something to your video. For those that have the coupe you need to remove the bolt for the seal belt rail behind the passenger seat. The bolt is a 14mm socket. You can remove both bolts or if you can shimmy the rail up after having loosened the bolt. The bolt doesn’t come out though so be gentle when removing it out the way.
Yes, they should be the same on the 2001 to 2005 Civic Coupes, and possibly the sedans too but I'm not sure about the sedans. You can look to see - just open the trunk and look up under the rear deck.
I’m gonna just cut the speaker vents off with a dremel for the rear 😅I did the front speakers this morning and it was a pain. It’s a beater anyway and I don’t really plan on reselling. I’m not taking all of the crap apart.😂
That's probably the best way to go. It is really a pain to do it the way I did in the video. But it was my wife's car, so I didn't think she'd appreciate me going at it with a grinder and a jack hammer, lol.
@@MTMiser well I ended up taking it all apart😂 I definitely would’ve not had enough clearance and no way would I have been able to take the bolts out holding the speakers down. Took me about an hour and a half but sounds 3x better! Thanks for the video. Now I gotta swap the head unit, install amp and subwoofer.
No, I believe your car takes 5-1/4" round speakers for the rear deck. Here's a list of speakers that Crutchfield's shows to work for your model, but make sure they are rated correctly for the power your head unit or amp puts out. www.crutchfield.com/g_400/All-Car-Speakers.html?tp=105&l=E&pg=2
Thanks for your effort! Not looking forward to doing this after experiencing how easy replacing speakers in cars used to be...
Just replaced my speakers today , cut center of speakers out. use vice grips or 8mm gearwrench to turn screws. Twist and pull speaker down.
Thanks for this. I went to do mine today an hour before work and realized there was a lot to come off.. Appreciate the video!

Now you tell me! :-)
@@MTMiser I cut the center of the speakers out then used an 8mm wrench for the screws . Twist and pull down hard. Hulk Smash

Thanks for making this how-to video. Really appreciate your help since I have not done a Civic.
Thank you for the information…I will be doing this on my son’s car soon…just ordered the speaker connectors for his car

Wow I thought it was going to be a 8 screw removal from the trunk...lol ... my bad.
Thank you sooo so much!
Thank you very much for this video! Greetings from Poland.
Going to try this tomorrow. Wish me luck. Will comment when done...
Would the speakes be the same size on a 05 ex coupe?

Mines a 05 coupe, looks the same . . .
Yes. I got 2 speakers out of an abandoned 2016 dodge . Holes line up too . . .
@@MTMiser what size are the speakers though?
@@ya_boi_yachtylook like 6x9 speakers
Fuck That, I'm cutting my old speakers out with an angle grinder and mount the new ones from the bottom. That's too much work .
That's what I'm doing too buddy f#$! That 😆 🤣
Sounds like a plan too me Fuck the dumb shit
Yup! 😂😭
Gracias amigo, buscaba este tipo de explicacion, saludos desde Chile ✌️
De nada, amigo. Espero que te sirva de ayuda. Estuve en Chile hace mucho tiempo. Es un país hermoso. Feliz Navidad.
Were the Pioneer 6" x 9" TS-G690 speakers direct bolt in? All the holes lined up and didn't have to drill new holes?
Bolt holes lined up perfectly - no drilling required.
@@MTMiser Awesome, thanks.

Just finished. Good video!
Привет из Беларуси!!! Спасибо что рассказал ! Очень нужное видио
Where do you get the wiring hornist?
Crutchfield dot com
thank you about to do mine now
Would these speakers work on an 03 sedan civic ?

It helped me brotha. Thank you.
Thanks for making this video! I would've had to pay quite a bit otherwise. Hardest part was getting those dang pieces back in lol
It definitely is an overly complicated job. Glad the video helped you out.
Thank you guess I'll better start this in the morning then
SUPER helpful
great job... the video that keeps on giving
I hope I never have to do this again...thx for the video
You and me both!
Is a lot of work
Yes it is, considering they could have engineered it to be so much easier.
I just don't know why manufacturers had to do this so difficult.
