As a BAM associate, I just want to say thank you for hyping us up! We take SO much pride in our store and a lot of pride in our bargain sections! It warms my heart to finally hear a booktuber mention and get excited over Books-A-Million. ❤
🖤🖤🖤
I have exams all october so binging your videos is my only way to vicariously live my October bookish girlie fantasies 😭
good luck with your exams!!
@@jessethereader tysmmm
I love Harper in The Curse Breaker series she has the same type of Cerebral Palsy that I do. Love the accurate disability representation 💚
I LOVED DEFY THE NIGHT SO MUCH! So excited to pick up the next in the series!
Jesse, don't do this to me. I already have 5 in my cart T.T
LOL
Now hit “check out” and enjoy your books 😊
I have 20 o.o
The Mary Shelley Club is easily in my top 5 favorite reads this year! I related to the MC so much and if you love Scream or a “Whodunit?” you’ll love it! ❤
that’s awesome!! i’m still working my way through it, but I’m enjoying it so far.
I enjoy Brigid Kemmerer's books. Been waiting for Defend the Dawn to come out! Her style of writing is great :D
It really is!! Excited for her future books as well.
I love the Curse Breaker series. I read the first book based on your recommendation. 😀
Yes! It’s so fun!
Brigid Kemmerer's YA fantasy is fantastic, but I feel like it is criminal how not talked about and forgotten her book Letters to the Lost is. It's so beautiful and my heart couldn't get enough. Maybe it was talked about and hyped up when it came out, but that doesn't change the fact that I think it should be talked about more in relation to her as an author.
I haven’t picked it up yet, but it seems like something I might like!
I love Brigid Kemmerer’s books. Letters To The Lost is my absolute favorite book.
OMG JESSE, The Mary Shelley Club is so GOOD. I ranked it as one of my top three books of this whole year
Thank you for the BOOKS A MILLION justice! 😭❤️
xoxo a BOOKS A MILLION manager ❤
It seems all my other book vloggers I follow are romance centers so finding you is a refreshing change. 🖤
BAM is my favorite of the major/chain bookstores. Their bargain section is always HUGE with pretty great selections and I’ve gotten so many books from them for hella cheap 🤌 Thank you for the book recs 🙏
I'm on a book buying ban till I make room on my TBR shelf 😔 looks like a really good haul, can't wait to hear your thoughts on some of these
huu u sold me on a curse so dark and lonely trilogy and the defy the night book too adding them to my tbr. i had seen both books around etc but wasnt curious about em/ didnt know much about em at the time.
Love a book haul but everything ends up in my basket and my bank account is empty 😂😂 love the videos
oops!!
Tommorow, and Tommorow, and Tommorow is so good I'm in love with it
👀 bumping it higher on my TBR!!
defy the night has been on my shelf for months, you gave me the final push to read it!!
I love the Defy the Night cover, still have yet to read it
really excited to read tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow
Poison for Breakfast is fantastic. And you're right, the description tells you nothing, haha.
I wholeheartedly stand with you in BAM is underrated and their bargain bin is unmatched!
There’s no books a million in California!! 😭 so many people I watch always talk about it & im so jealous. Same thing w half priced books! There aren’t any near Los Angeles I think the closest one is over 300 miles away 💀 to be fair tho, we do have many great indie bookstores BUT STILL the fomo!
I bought Daughter of the Moon Goddess today and I haven’t even read it yet and I’m already about to pre order Heart of the Sun Warrior 😭 it looks like such an amazing book I can’t wait to start it
Also bought Lore by Alexandra Bracken the other day! I’ve been wanting it for a few years so it’s so exciting to add it to my collection!
The Storied Life of AJ Fikry is my favorite one too!
Amari and the Night Brothers is fantastic!!!
I, too, have yet to dive into A Heart So Fierce and Broken, but I am looking forward to it for much the same reasons. Also, I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow...it was one I thought about picking up, but have been wary of for triggers. I just had my birthday recently and went on a book buying binge...23 new books. lol. But to be fair, I've only bought 4 books since January besides these new ones. 😄
23 new books? that’s exciting! happy belated birthday.
@@jessethereader Yep...went a little overboard. lol. Thank you! :)
B&N's bargain section use to be amazing. Like the rest of the store, it's been declining.
From the one BaM I've been to, the bargain section was on par to the Waldenbooks, that use to be in the same spot, or B&N's of yore. Alas, it was the only one in the area and it closed during the panini.
Awesome haul! I hope you enjoy these!
thank you!! & me toooo!
@@jessethereader. You're welcome!
Geez...so many books. Love that for you lol Museum of Wonders is really fun I'm sure you will love it. YAAAAAS Amari!!
I think B&N is rated so highly because being a huge chain, sometimes its the best bookstore available. I mourn the loss of Borders and Waldenbooks from my childhood/teen years, B&N NEVER compared to walking into Waldenbooks and seeing the manga right there, and hanging out in the mall with my mall goth friends. But good haul, Jesse!! I hope all your book choices are good!!
I'll be in NYC to visit some places, including iconic bookstores so I'm sure I'll pick up SOMETHING
GRAY IS IN FORGING SILVER INTO STARS
OMG BLESS
Picked up "Horrid" by Katrina Leno yesterday. Super excited it looks like an amazing spooky season read
Such fantastic reads😍😍😍
so pumped! 😊
I haven't picked up any of these books yet, but I recently did a huuugee (mostly Fantasy &/or Romance genre) ebook-haul on a total whim, because..I was like...if I just already have them..then I have zero excuse(s) to not start reading them. And I really want to be reading things! (It actually started with me just grabbing a few ebook copies of some books I already own physical copies of, but for certain reasons they're currently in boxes which I can't get to at the moment for a while, and I was sick of waiting until I can get back to them to start reading all of my books again. But then I was compulsively just drawn in to this long list of other ebooks of books that I've been wanting to read too but didn't even have yet because I told myself I wouldn't get any more until I after finish reading my physical TBR😶🙃😅😅 👀 😁
You have reminded that I _want_ to read Brigid Kemmerer's books though!!! (I just really suck at remembering author names or book titles unless I happen to be looking at the cover, and then I recognize the cover and I'm just like "Oohh, yyeeaaahhhh, THAT's one of the ones I wanted to reeeaadd!!!!!" 😅 🤣🤣🤣)
i love how he always matches the background to his shirt haha
Amari is so good!! The sequel was even better!
Love Brigid Kemmerer so much! Yes Gray is in Forging Silver Into Stars I can vouch for that. But don’t read the description because it will spoil!
Great book haul 📚😎💯
Omg I'm need those two Lemony Snicket books! I already have Poison for Breakfast and read it. Wasn't what I was expecting but It was low-key interesting!
Also Jesse I highly recommend Cain's Jawbone by Edward Powys Mathers
I like the shirt!
Jesse, I recently read The Sky Blues and I loved it 😊 now I’m currently reading 📖 the last book to The Kingdom Of The Wicked book 3 Kingdom Of The Feared I just hope it doesn’t disappoint.
I am currently reading Aurora Rising and damn it ITS SOOOO GOOODDDS!!!!
Nice!!
Thanks for sharing!!!
I got Amar and the night brothers as will this is the first i saw in these book hauls that where i got the some book as Jesse. Don’t know why but i like it
awesome!!
Grey IS in Forging Silver into Stars, but he’s not the protagonist unfortunately. 😭
Also, if you want a “magic gone wrong” book rec, I recommend Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas! Definitely a great ghost book for the spooky season!
I LOVED the cemetery boys! Such a great one. 😊
I recently picked up Kafka on The Shore at your suggestion
Grey is in Foraging Silver Into Stars!!!
YESSSS 🥹
I agree about Books A Million
BAM is awesome, hard agree!
Gris Grimly os the best!!! Also Shane and I read the Lump of Coal book aloud on Christmas eve last year and it made me cry audibly uhhhhhhhg
cry?! oh no! i’m not ready for a sob fest lol
Great Book Haul Jesse and I absolutely loved the Curse Breaker Trilogy and I didn’t even she did a spin-off book of the trilogy I’ll definitely be picking that up along with Defend The Night Duology 😊 Have a Wonderful Day tomorrow and happy reading 📖🙂 And I Have That Illustrated Book of Hocus Pocus as well and side note did you see Hocus Pocus 2 yet Jesse?
Happy reading to you as well!! I haven’t gotten to hocus pocus 2 yet… bc I’m nervous about it haha
@@jessethereader Thanks Jesse and I understand but I’ve watched it twice and I enjoyed it but I will say nothing can top the OG but this sequel was fun and I enjoyed it hope you get to watch it soon 💜🧡💜🎃🐱🧟♂️🕯💜🧡💜😊
Woo, new video! And grey(t), now I have a new series to look up and become obsessed with. (Ps. That was a horrible pun, but I regret nothing 😁)
i’m here for the pun hehe ✨
Poison for Breakfast was definitely not like other mysteries ✨
cough cough sneeze sneeze **dead**
sums up the last three years
someone get jesse his special peculiar box STAT
I used to exclusively shop at books a million as my hometown only had that as a bookstore in all of our area. I would agree the bargin section of books a million is so much better then barnes and noble bargin section...I have a theory that barnes and nobles bargin section is not a real bargin section. So I agree yall books a million is always thrown to the side but they have good details!! I think nobody thinks of them because they don't have the special editions that barnes and nobles has (They have some special stuff you just gotta figure out!)
If you can do a Books A Million vlog, that would be great! 👌
I am glad that you are into middle grade fantasy these days! I am too!
I am currently reading Aru Shah and the Song Of Death by Roshani Chokshi.
3:31 That is me and I agree
I can’t believe he forgot about the new Adam silvera book
It is really difficult for me with fantasy sometimes but i really want to try Brigit kemmerer work so i think i am going to trust jessy like i did with ransom riggs books and read a curse so dark and lonely series
I feel like Brigid’s books are a solid way to break into fantasy!
I am not into fantasy but I love Brigid Kemmerers YA books so much! Have you read any of them? Always good to see her books being promoted. She's way too unknown.
To Amazon I go 🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️📚📚📚📚
And Grey omg Grey is just >>>>>>
📚🏃♀️ 🏃♂️ 🏃 💨
JESSE, AMARI Is amazing!!! ENJOY IT!! There's also a second book❤
i too love Books a Million
the best!
Between Fikry and Tomorrow, I think "Heartwarming and Heartbreaking" should be Gabrielle Zevin's middle name. Her writing makes me feel things whether I want to or not, and that's why she's so brilliant.
If you’re looking for another sibling/magical book. I highly recommend The Honeys by Ryan La Sala
I’ve heard such great things about that one!
I don’t have a books a million 😭 I visited one last year and it was so cool though, I love how they have a cafe and lots of random merchandise. The last book I bought was The Very Secret Society of Irregukar Witches, I just finished it and I did not like it :(
If you ever come to the uk. Try Waterstones
😭😭😭 I love books-a-million and I do not have one in my area!! I have very little in my area, really. Its sad. I'm sad about it. 😂😂
Amari and the Night Brothers is one of the best middle grades out there in my opinion!
this has me even more excited now!
I read it right after the nevermoor books, so my brain kept noticing how similar they were which lessened my enjoyment of it a bit. Still going to get the second one when I get the money to do another haul.
Now I really want to read A Wicked Magic.
doesn’t it sound fun? i’m excited about it!
Hope you’re doing well! Reading IT by Stephen king! LOVE it so far!
ooh it!! that’s a big one! good luck.
I'm also currently reading IT!
The only bookstore in my town is book a million. So I think it's ok. I don't know about other books a million in other places. All I know is if you find a book you like you better grab the rest of the series cause you not going to find it again at least for me. I have been to a book store in Texas that was two floors!
i’m kind of jealous that you have one in your town! mine is around 40 minutes away from me so it’s quite a drive!
The phrases “curse breaker” and “Beauty and the Beast retelling” are giving me ACOTAR flashbacks. I’m afraid. Haha.
OOP 👀
I'm sadly in an area that doesn't have a physical Books A Million store. I usually access the website, though.
that’s a bummer! I’ve noticed that they don’t have as many locations around the US so maybe that’s why b&n tends to be favored.
@jessethereader It is. When I was looking at maps, they were all in the Texas area/nearby states just east/north of TX. I’m in California - none to be found.
I finished Defend The Dawn this past weekend and I’m still thinking about it??? 🤐
omg im scared now lol
❤❤
🖤
I'm reading hocus pocus and the all new sequel
Have you ever counted how many books you have?? I'd be so curious to know what ~X~ number of books looks like with your shelves!
I have in the past, but it’s been a minute since & I know my collection has grown quite a bit haha
PLEASE READ THE BROKEN HEARTS SERIES BY STEPHANIE GARBER
Can anyone tell me where he got the shelves?
ikea! they're called the billy bookcase.
@@jessethereader thanks!
How are you doing Jesse? I mean truly. Is there any way I can pray for you? ❤
doing well! 🖤
You like to backseat magic?? 🤭😁🤣💜
Grate video. U have good taist. Have you read fullmetal alquimist?everything u said u like on a book reminded me of that series.
i have the first book in the manga, but i haven’t read it yet. 😅
Slay
🕺🏻💃🏻🕺🏻💃🏻
*Heavy Sighs*.
Add to cart.
LOL
Say less!
😊
So I read These Ghosts are Family...it was a book.
oh noooo now I’m nervous lol
@@jessethereader Maybe it wasn't for me, but I can't explain what about it wasn't hitting right, you know? Kinda just gotta try it.
Me when the characters don’t listen to me: 😤
EXACTLY!! makes me want to rage lol
Tokyo ghoul my hero academia vol 32 and that time I got reincarnated as a slime vol 20 and spy x family vol 8 I'm on a manga kick
here for the manga!!
I love reading manga you should do read that time I got reincarnated as a slime it's a really good manga
Probably not the right takeaway from this video, but he has piercing eyes
I wouldn't be so excited about Books A Million (BAM). They're a very anti-LGBTQ+ company and I really don't like to support them.
Do you have sources on this by chance?
@@jessethereader Of course I can't find any at the moment. I looked into the company many years ago when they bought the old Borders where I live right after they went out of business (early 2010s). At the time, I read several articles about LGBTQ employees being fired for their sexual preference. They were mainly a Southern-based, very conservative company at this point.
I will admit that I could be wrong about this since it has been a long time or perhaps they've changed their policies. I have not spent a lot of time looking into them since then, choosing to support other booksellers.
Miss Peregrine Museum of Wonders doesn't add much to the story line but it has these annotations that have me screaming because they are so sweet. The book also has those wonderful peculiar vibes.🤍🖤
Just finished Letters of the Lost and I didnt like it 🥲 and I see almost everyone who read it loved it & so now Im cautious with Brigid Kemmerer’s books as it’s my first book of hers
is letters of the lost a fantasy?
@@jessethereader no, it’s a YA contemporary
