The Percy Jackson casting announcement AND a new Jesse video?! TODAY IS A GOOD DAY!!!
I was not aware of the former thank you
where are they releasing the announcement???
@@avantisoman1746 On Disney+ and Rick Riordan’s Instagram!
@@alexishurtado6183 ohkk thank you!!
And a new Taylor swift song
✨Daddy the reader✨had me ☠️💀. Tbh this video made my day
I blindly picked up The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo when I entered the bookshop today and after searching it on Storygraph I figured out I would be emotionally crushed while reading it.
P.S- I am preparing a hell lot of tissue boxes to wipe my tears now
😭😭😭 that was me when I read it
Oh you will need it. Especially the ending. It WRECKED me.
@@Divyyyaaaa Read it and now my standards are too high for myself even..XD Evelyn Hugo is a perfect example for a strong ambitious woman in today's society
Book hauls are literally the best things ever
The girl who fell beneath the sea totally has studio ghibli feels. It kept giving me spirited away vibes while I was reading it. You need to read it! :)
I agree with you it does.
Gallant was my introduction to young adult V.E. Schwab books and I am obsessed with it! Think of it like if Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children and Coraline had a love child, then married V.E. Schwab's storytelling style!
Me:
OMGG I am so excited as I am on a YA kick as well.
Also me:
The way my reading life has synchronised with Jesse's is insane...
OMG! I read The Girl Who Fell Beneath The Sea, and was 100% amazing!!! Took it out from the library and I just had to get my own copy because it was that good. 😍😍😍🥰
Who else imitates Jesse when he is doing the outro?
Just me?
Okay...
The fact that Jesse managed to get all his books in the same genre without realizing is killing me
I just finished "The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea" this morning. I LOVED it! Once the Spirit Realm came into play, I couldn't put it down! I hope you enjoy it!
I’m a huge bookworm as well, I don’t have quite the collection like Jesse but close, I love how Jesse reacts about books. Hands down new favourite book RUclipsr, I will definitely be reading some of the books he has mentioned over his videos, the style of books that he loves I love.
Me having Gallant in my bookshelf for a month or two watching all the Booktube community talking about it . But also me trying to beat my endless TBR.
the jumpcuts and the overall editing are giving very much early 2010s era of youtube (with peace and love)
I need to put myself on a book buying ban. But I have no shelf control. My physical TBR must weigh almost as much as I do.
Me too
The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea is my best book read in 2022 so far! And I've read 54 books at this point! It was really ghibliesque in the best possible way! I reaaaaaaaaaally loved that book :D
The only Daniel Jose Older book I read was Last Shot, which is a Star Wars novel. The interesting thing about that book is that the main story takes place 2 years after Return of the Jedi, with sections that take place in different points in time, like there’s one section that takes place a year after the events of Solo: A Star Wars Story, another section that takes place a few years before Solo, and another section that takes place even further back that provides an origin story for the book’s villain.
It’s easy to read, and it’s fun to read if you’re a Star Wars fan. I will say you have to be familiar with the Star Wars movies (at least the Original Trilogy and Solo: A Star Wars Story) in order to appreciate the novel more.
I am so excited for an arrow to the moon! Love romeo and juliet and pretty much anything mythology related. And the girl beneath the sea and the firekeeper's daughters are ones I have heard so many positive reviews for that I'm curious to try them now too. Enjoy your new books!
Can I just say how much I appreciate the fact that you put the imperfect bloopers in at the end for us all to enjoy and see that even amazing booktubers are really just human like the rest of us-'cause I really do(!!). ^--^ 💜💜
All My Rage was an absolutely fantastic read - enjoy!! (And you’re absolutely right, it’s a sad one 🥺😭)
yes the piano I do still and will always love music it is very important in my life
Ooooh A Magic Steeped in Poison is so good. And that series is only a duology with book 2 coming out in August so you could even finish the whole series this year!
jesse, you're so wholesome. i always have a great time watching your videos (and i get great recommendations!!). i also sat up stick straight when you claimed you had a whirlwind romance and then proceeded to rescind the possibility. brilliant.
Jesse, I finished reading The Lucky List and I loved it 😍 one of my favorite reads this year ❤
Thanks Jesse!! Once again adding books to my tbr, and once again lightening my wallet :")
Great haul! I hope you enjoy these!
Hi Jessie!!! I watched all your videos and I love how passionate you are about books. Have a lovely day!🥰
Ive finally decided to pick up the percy jackson series so.ill be more informed when the new series comes out i cant wait
Enjoy the ride, I was sceptical at first, but it’s now one of my all time favourites
@@thatcrazydaisey3437 yeah I know im one of the very few who enjoyed the movie which made me want to read the books to see what i was missing out on. Kinda ironic really.
@@quasi8180 that’s the same thing that happened to me 😂😂
@@thatcrazydaisey3437 huh who wouldve thunk huh? I know most fans of the book really hate the movie. Even rick riordan himself hated it. Im quite excited for the new show though
@@quasi8180 I’m SO excited for the new show, they announced the trio cast today
I marked several of the books as to-read that you had too. I'm especially looking forward to A Magic Steeped in Poison or he Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea.
The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea is exactly as what you'd expect a studio ghibli movie to be! The atmosphere, the characters and even the plot! I actually gave it 4 stars and not 5 because (personally) it was way too similar to spirited away 😂
Jesse's chaos in his videos is me everytime I try to organize the new books I bought on my shelves even though I have no space left. 😂😂
All the Gallant editions are beautiful 🥰🥰🥰🥰 also the girl who fell beneath the sea is so beautiful 😍😍😍😍
the girl who fell beneath the sea and a magic steeped in poison have been on my TBR for the longest time now :) so excited to finally get my hands on both and wait for publication of the latter. your description of gallant also makes me wants to read 👀👀
Such a fun video, thank you 😊 and a romance book?! 💖 love it! I feel like you'd enjoy Christina Lauren's books
Currently reading Gallant and LOVING it !
Yay! My birthday is today and how do I celebrate by going to the bookstore! Whoop!whoop! So thank you so much for showing me books that now I’m definitely going to buy.🤩😭🌿lol
your bb blue shirt along with the joy if book hauls is just perfection 💙 also, manga haul when? >
I just finished Gallant, and loved it!
Your videos never fail to make me laugh out loud
Im currently Reading Gallant (Illumicrate edition) and it’s amazing!
Great haul 📚😎💯
Hey!!! Hope you’re doing well!!! Thanks for posting!! You’re the best!
I was a kid who has paino drilled in me you can go back as an adult. I've had that change of heart for romance to.
I always crave books from the Rick Riordan presents imprint. 📚
Okay now I want a full version of you singing fire by bts lmaooo :D
i loved the fire keepers daughter, i hope u like it
I literally just finished Gallant today. I actually have not read any of V. E. Schwab’s books before, but my friends and I collectively decided on Gallant for our book club book, and I thought it was super fascinating and well written!
I recently read Klara And The Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro, it was my first read of his, and it was amazing. Hope you enjoy A Pale View Of Hills.
I own girls of paper and fire but I still need to read it. It’s a part of my tbr that’s screaming at me 😂😂
I got Run Rose Run by Dolly Parton and James Patterson and it came with a poster.
Lurrrrrrrrrvvvvvv Girls of Paper and Fire and Firekeeper’s Daughter
I have this conflict where I want to read more grown up fiction.. But I also want to binge read every book under the R.R. imprint. 😆 lol So adult books under the imprint would be great.
DaddytheReader.....Jesse dont be surprised if some viewers actually call u this behind your back. Not me tho! You're always Jesse😁cant wait for a reading vlog of these books if you do
Also Bookish Box is doing a Gallant SE if you're interested
The girl who fell beneath the sea and magic steeped in poison were okay reads for me 👀 like 3 star reads 💀
I have read Fire Keepers Daughter, which Trigger Warning: has elements of death, drug abuse and SA of a minor. But it is extremely well written and has an incredible balance of mystery and romance. It has a main plot of drug abuse in the tribe( sorry I forgot the name) which has been causing deaths of teenagers. The MC becomes an informant for the FBI to try and find the dealer who has been selling the drugs. I hope anyone who reads this book enjoys!
Only one I've read is Girls of Paper and Fire. I suspect it might be a bit darker than you're expecting.
I have read books by Daniel Jose Older (Shadowshaper) and Kazuo Ishiguro (Never Let Me Go) and they're both good authors, imo.
My most recent book purchase is Seasonal Fears, by Seanan McGuire, which should be showing up today.
Watching a Jessie the reader video with some pho and bubble tea
YA competition? You should read Wolf by Wolf!
*adds all books onto my list while the unread books I bought months ago stare at me with disdain*
Can we all agree life would be better if the stickers were either printed on or on a removable tag??
Thanks for the comment about the demon hair when I’m about to go to bed 🥲😭
I really think you’re going to like Gallant. Probably.
I read Girls of Paper and Fire last year. It was kinda dark and a little underwhelming. I feel like the side characters were way more important and entertaining than our main.
Jesse: FIREEEEEEEE!!!!
Armies: **throws away the device**
Jesse's fans: OH my gosh, Jesse, you're TALENTED!!!!!
I'm the latter lol
Jesse! What do you think of the main 3 from the PJO cast?
Jesse you bought so many books 😮😮😮
Plz let us know if u like romance books soon cuz I still have so many recs if u do 💕
I read the first book in the girls of paper and fire trilogy.
The first book is good, really good actually. And then it all ends from there. It just spirals out of control, the sense of for bidden love is gone and spoilers, whenever they talk about the main characters eyes they make a sound something big and grand. And it just wasn’t.
I need to go through my shelves cause last month I bought 40 books and I have no room😭
if you were to guess how many books you have read how many would you guess?
I have the forbidden planet edition and it's beautiful lol
Is it only different by the sprayed edges from the Waterstones edition?
@@ajmatt574 The front of the book, once the dust jacket is off, is slightly different as well. Apart from that everything seems to look the same
@@shannonmccay Thanks. I was looking and could only see a difference in sprayed edges
Cant wait to see you cry when you read All my Rage 💀 (its reallllly good tho!) Also Sal's father didnt pass away, its the mother 😂 just saying so it doesn't change ur perspective of the book or give a misconception
You don’t hate romance anymore, plot twist
Oh no I'm going with daddy now
Stickers on books is THE WORST
First time being this early
Could you review our books?
The devil is a part-timer manga and that time I got reincarnated as a slime vol 15
Ok… people from India would you guys like to have aesthetic or cute annotation tabs?
..
Are you Phil from Dan and Phil
Hey Book Daddy 😏😉
🤮 haha sorry cringe couldn’t help myself 🤣🤣🤣
You are being so dramatic..
Gallant was a great read, & my first VE Schwab read. I get the hype now. 🤍
A Far Wilder Magic… I kept getting pulled out of the story because of the opposing time elements (lanterns & horseback, but in the next sentence paramedics with flashlights… it was confusing for me.). But I did enjoy the book.
