Hello from Germany 😁! Yes, our Christmas Markets are a bit different, because it's mainly about food (historical) and alcohol. And that's still, what we do here: Drinking mulled wine, eating Bratwurst, roasted nuts,... People in the middle ages bought their "winterfood", like meat, on these markets or little wooden gifts. We also have shops (called Buden), but the main thing is food. It's winter, it's cold...we need some fat on our hips to survive 😂.
Ahh love Christmas markets! I’m from the Netherlands, what I miss the most in your Christmas market is actually the use of cute little houses/cabins as stands, instead of the white tents. It really makes a lot of difference in terms of coziness. But it seems that the three of you had a lot of fun so that is the most important! :D
MaCenna, you're definitely one of RUclips influencers who left a deep impression on me. A woman, designer, builder, entrepreneur, and hardworking mother who spreads positivity on this platform. I don't celebrate Christmas, but I always enjoy your Christmas vlogs because of pretty decors & the uplifting vibe! Sending love from Indonesia 🤍
The European Christmas markets ARE truly magical! I studied abroad in college (yearssss ago now) and I went to both Germany and Italy’s markets. True perfection! Kara & Nate made 4 or so videos about the best Christmas markets in 2023. A great watch!
Finnish person here! Flammlachs is basically flamed salmon, it's sooo good 🤩😍 You definitely need to go to a European Christmas market, in Vienna, Riga, Helsinki or any other, we have plenty❤
Thank you for including your viewers. Encourages me to see a young family with strong morals and values out making their first Christmas memories with their first child! Provides HOPE in a world that darkness can overshadow. Merry Christmas!
German Christmas markets are truly magical! The ones I loved most were - Nürnberg with Lebkuchen (ginger bread) - Cologne cathedral for sure but it’s a little too crowded now - Hamburg Rathausmarkt with Santa coming twice a day - München Tollwood with huge tents wherein the little vendor-houses are Christmas markets I have yet to go to but I am so excited for: - Dresden Striezelmarkt - Rothenburg ob der Tauber
Well, as a German I can say this Christmas Market is trying to combine European markets with the American taste. Europe itself is very different. I am used to little wooden huts with either foods or decorations you can buy. Personally most of the decorations are not my style but to me that's not the reason to go, it's the atmosphere. All the activities you saw I am personally not used to but maybe because of the different weather. Choirs from schools or other organisations might also perform. Depending on the city you might have ice skating, a ferris wheel or even full amusement park. There's really quite a versatile way to a Christmas Market. I'm glad you visited during the evening, it's the most magical at night. One day I'm sure you'll visit a Christmas Market in Europe. Looks like you enjoyed yourselves and that's what's most important.
I am from England, living in Germany since 8 years now. I personally think Christmas markets are far not that magical as Americans think. It way too many ppl around and extremely much foreigners as Turkish, Arabic and so on what doesn't make it as magical anymore. I even saw a Döner Hütte yesterday when i visited a Christmas Market 😅 I mean... 😅
I’m currently on a train from Cologne Germany to Strassburg France for the Christmas markets and so far we’re having a great time, the markets in Canada are nothing compared to what we’ve seen so far!! It’s everything she’s describing, very magical😊
@@LindsaySever personally I find that some markets can be extremely packed with people which is not something I like all the time. But the lights and the smells quickly make up for it.
The European Christmas markets are the things I’m going to miss the most when we move back to the states 😩it’s truly magical. Strasbourg France has been our favorite
Hello. Loved the visit to the Christmas Market. My daughter is 15 years old and sometimes she joins me watching your videos because she is in awe of how much I enjoy them. ❤
I'm from the U.S. but I've lived in several European countries, and now I live in Vienna, Austria. I've experienced a lot of Xmas markets abroad, and while the one you visited had a lot of the stuff you'll experience in Europe, it was definitely very Americanized. Maybe it's missing some charm, but you definitely had more options there :) Here, they set up rows of little wooden huts side by side in many of the important city squares, and they'll sell food and ornaments. Really it's all about the vibes at these markets for me; it's enjoyable just to walk around and look at the lights and drink a mulled wine while being surrounded by beautiful architecture. Unfortunately, I love the idea of the Christmas markets in Vienna, but we are so full of tourists that at many of the city markets you end up shoulder-to-shoulder and back-to-front with a solid mass of people the entire time. Still, I love the markets and I cherish the ideal memories I have from when I've gone and not faced the masses. The markets in Bratislava (in next door Slovakia where I also lived) were honestly much much calmer and I was able to enjoy them more.
You could put star shaped confetti glitter in the Christmas bauble with the moon. That would sparkle. Loving all your vlogs. Thank you for your hard work putting vlogmas together for us. We appreciate you. ❤
Thank you for sharing your life. You have taught me how to stand up for myself, and live in the moment…. I didn’t know that men like Romeo exist! Being best friends and supporting each other, and he doesn’t make fun of you or your interests. Full disclosure : thank you for being vulnerable !
A cute idea for Cade's christmas bauble is to place a piece of ribbon inside that is the same length as he is tall .... its a cute reminder of how little they were. 😊
Greetings from the Netherlands, this looks very magical and very European Xmas market like. Although we are usually having small white tents (150-200) in which you can buy many hand crafted items, I do appreciate your American version of it. With us you may have Sinterklaas coming by once at a specific time, but you have Santa actually sitting there and you are able to take pictures and do many activities, so that looks like fun. Ours here do not have as many activities, they are usually scheduled as side events next to the Christmas market. In the German Xmas market (I am also German) are usually small wodden huts, particularly you will find Gluehwein stands and open fires and an ice rink.
I live in the Netherlands and the most beautiful Christmas markets can be found in Germany. Personally, the Christmas market in Cologne is my favorite Christmas market, you really have to set aside a weekend for it because you can't see everything in one day.
Thank you MaCenna for sharing this Vlog it really made me miss my son who has been in California for the past 2 years. I would have loved to visit the Christmas Market with him! You give me great inspiration in so many different ways. I am happy to say I am flying from Boston to California this weekend to see him, and I am planning to go to the Long Beach Flea on the 15th for the first time, you and Romeo make it look like fun. I have watched your channel from the DIY's to this amazing chapter that you are currently sharing. So many congratulations to you and your family, enjoy every glorious moment with your precious Cade. I am hoping to have a few wonderful moments with my son this weekend. Happy first holiday day season with your little one, may you, Romeo, and Cade continue to be blessed!!
If you can, you should totally find one of the historical, medieval Christmas Markets here in Germany. Some of them are located in one of our many castles, without electrical light, only lit by candles and torches. Now that's magical! And if you`re lucky, there will be snow ...
You and Romeo are truly enjoying your new little Xmas angel. Seeing this season thru a child's eyes is truly magical. You were born to be a mother. So lovely to see.
Germany, Austria and Switzerland have the best Christmas markets in Europe (imo). It is truly magical. Also London looks insanely beautiful during Christmas
I went to the LA Christmas market this weekend and I definitely agree with everything you said! I had a lot of the same dishes/drinks y’all tried and that apple cider… so bad haha
Getting to watch your vlogs every day at bed time and relax after the kiddos are in bed has been absolute heaven! Also baby Cade is looking like Dads twin!
I’ve heard it said when talking about the difference between introverts and extroverts- Extroverts are fueled or energized by being around people, and introverts are drained of energy by being around people.
I was born in Poland, raised in Germany and living in France. Poland didn’t really have Christmas markets, maybe now or in the big cities, Germany, is like someone already pointed out, it’s all about the food and alcoholic drinks and France is totally different again. In the north east they are almost like Germany and they have beautiful markets but in the the south west, were I live, it’s very tiny markets that are only one weekend long and it’s about artisanal products and no food. I was really bewildered last year when we went to one and I was so ready to eat and drink and there was nothing.
The Christmas Markets in Sweden are all about small business vendors with hand made stuff, everything from ceramics and knits to candy and food delicacies. Usually really well crafted stuff that are investments and long lasting, nothing plastic in sight! 😅 You should definitely plan a winter trip to Europe to experience it. 🥰🎄🕯️✨✨✨
@Heydrayheyhey I imagine they will be the same. The market is obviously geared to people who celebrate Christmas and those people will continue to celebrate Christmas.
Where I live in Cullman Alabama has a fair just like the ones in Germany, the town was founded by Mr. Cullman from Germany. We have ice skating people dressed like the native Germans do. Our town is so Unique and it is done in our down town Depot area. People come from all over the south to taste and experience the culture … this year was the every best because it was built with small little building like the ones in Germany.
Enjoying vlogmas so much! Nice to see your mom! Hoping to see more of the cottage when you visit Texas!! And can we please see the progress in your mom’s studio? Merry Christmas 🎄
I would like to see the cottage again in a volgmas. It doesn’t need to be all decorated for Christmas. I would just like to remember what all you did in there.
seriously she worked so hard on her cottage and I learned a lot. Too much for her to walk completely away. I love her home in la but feel happy with the cottage. She’s a great talent 👍
Please go to a European Christmas Market :D I don't know how it is in other cities/countries but this is not what the markets look like in my area. The best thing is all the wooden hutts, lights and christmas trees. As someone else said there are a lot of stalls with food and drinks and some little shops for decorations and gifts. And the Bratwurst you ate looked like a Hotdog :D you should give it another try when you are in Germany 😅
Last year I went on a riverboat up the Rhine in France and Germany stopping at multiple Christmas markets. It was magical ! Real snow and beautiful towns.
Considering how small European countries, and there’s lots of tradition in each of the villages. People either come home from the large cities or the villagers bring it because people want those markets and it’s time for these quiet villages to make some money. My husband noticed in videos he rarely saw children. So even though it’s wonderland like, maybe kids don’t think it’s wonderland like. In Calgary I noticed they have pony rides, horse drawn wagons taking people out for hot chocolate and a ride around the farm. But my kids always wanted to be outside playing in the snow. The dark usually was not fun because it was boring for them ( constantly hearing don’t touch) and easy to lose them if you get distracted.
I've been to a German Christmas market (Rothenburg ob der Tauber) and yours is definitely an Americanized version, but still nice. I plan on going to Germany to a few Christmas markets probably in 2026. The German Christmas markets have lots of mulled wine, sausages, sweets (more native foods of the region). Each market in Germany is a little different from the other. Some have kiddy rides and Ferris wheels. Rothenburg is a medieval town with different tours you can take once inside the town. I absolutely love the Christmas markets in Germany.
I love your videos Macenna! You have such a joy about you that I desperately needed today. We had to say goodbye to a family pet today which was... incredibly difficult. Thank you for bringing some joy to the end of a hard day. ❤
Waaaaaait, was that a Muji?! Muji literally has the very best fine point pens ever. It’s one of the stores in Japan I miss the most (lived there off and on for nine years).
I'm traveling to Scotland next week for Edinburgh Christmas markets and this just makes me stoked for it 😍😍 first time! From Midwest USA 😊 We have a local Christkindl market that is apparently relatively authentic. I got stressed about how many people were there and left so I can't really compare 🤣 fingers crossed that Scottish people are less shovey 😅
I always put my tea in the microwave and forget it 😅 When my girls were still small, the midwife told me not to carry babies looking forward because it is not good for the back. 🤷🏼♀️ maybe something has changed since then. Love your videos
When you first showed you painting the ornament, you looked just like your mom. I thought it was her at first, but alas she has gone home😢 I can’t help thinking she would have loved doing that.
Our market here in Lincoln England was just as you described apart from all the ‘shops’ were wooden cabin lots crafts gingerbread and mulled wine it was all around our cathedral area unfortunately it became so popular too many people came from away our council had to call it off last 2 years shame it was intrinsic part of our Christmas
The ornement you made make me thing of "Le Petit Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. It's a french children book about a Prince in Space. Very Poetic.
Huge! Been trying to trade on my own for a while now, but it isn’t going well. few weeks ago I lost about $40,000 in the trade. Can you please at least advise me on what to do?
Mr Marion Such a genuine personality!! He is really a good investment advisor. I was privileged to attend some of his seminars. That’s how I start my crypto investment.
Robert platform maintains a unique perspective and is very transparent with their investors. Regardless of whether or not he outperforms. I will forever stay invested!
Magical is the perfect description for European Christmas markets. Some of my best memories were spent with family in Munich, Herrenberg, Nurenburg, Koln, Rothenberg…you must go some day! ❤

Downtown Pittsburgh has the wooden huts in their market. It’s really adorable! I was there last year. I’ll have to search for one in Texas!

What does Romeo do for a living? Does he have a full time job or does he just sell used shirts?
That looks like so much fun!!! 🎄❤️
You should do some salt dough or clay hand and footprints for the tree so you can remember how tiny he was xx

Love the ribbon idea. Thanks for sharing.
I've suggested this to her a couple times... maybe she'll read one of our messages

Ugh. I don't want vlogmas to end. 😢 This is my favorite time of the year.
Omg the coffee in the microwave 😆 I totally empathize!! I have a 5 month old and I feel the same way.
The christmas market in London is magical😍 Would def recommend!❤

Just visited some awesome Christmas markets : Vienna and Munich ..... Such amazing experience ..... Truly unique❤
Your hair is absolutely gorgeous! You are very lucky 🖤
I am truly enjoying these Vlogmas Videos. Seeing your joy over being a new parent is so precious… keep them coming
You could put little metallic stars in the ornament, that would fit the moon and is also lovely to shake up :)
OMG, Cade is soooo precious!!!❤❤

OMG Hightide DTLA is one of my favorite shops! Ugh you would love the brush writer pens/markers
Thank you MaCenna, I love the Christmas market, baby Cade have good time
I love little man. You guys are so awesome!
I have recently been to Christmas markets in Vienna.. it was fairytale magical 🎄
Try a harness for Kinsley that you can hook in front on her chest. This totally stopped our dog from pulling. I don't know why it works but it does.
Our German friends always go “home” for the holidays. They have wonderful things to say about the markets.
For our sons first Christmas we put his baby socks in a clear ornament. Years later it is his favorite ornamwnr
Thank you❤🎉

I think it’s true, even a somewhat introverted person can feel completely drained by being in a social setting for too long.

The Scandinavians value homemade crafts at Christmas. Homemade things and folkart is so much nicer than mass produced plastic junk!!!
Same in Norway!!🥰
I wonder what Sweden's christmas markets will look like in 20 years when 30% of the population is muslim :) I am muslim too :D

Watch tubers Kara and Nate …they did a whole travel experience to several European Christmas markets last year. It’s pretty good.
Also did the Christmas markets the weekends!! Came home empty handed, but love it anyway

A side note my favorite distressed denim where the ones I wore daily and natural distressed them. But a fun market
My boss just did a Chirstmas Market Cruise through Europe. What a dream!
Look forward to vlogmas everyday!
Can we agree at about 5:20 ish Cade looks like Charlie Brown !!❤❤❤❤❤❤
I got the candle sampler!! Thank you for releasing that! I'm excited to smell them all.

I'm sure we are missing out on experiences but I couldn't handle the crowd and traffic. I truly enjoy living in the midwest.
Merry Christmas everyone!

Oooohhhhh noooo are the vlogmas done now after vlogma day 7 ? 🥲

You could paint his little hand and mark it in the blank space of the ornament 🙌🏼
Love when you do Vlogmas!!!!! 🎉❤🎉 Merry Christmas friend!
You should pour the cold coffee in the oatmeal
You could do little gold stars or gold glitter inside the ornament for stars in space
Lovely video again, MaCenna! 🙂
From the little peek of Cade he looks so much like his Dad except with lighter hair
When you first showed you painting the ornament, you looked just like your mom. I thought it was her at first, but alas she has gone home😢
I can’t help thinking she would have loved doing that.
Instead of fake snow, you can take small pieces of paper to write a love letter to Cade. And every year put another one in.
Pretty much the same in Belgium but Brussels is beautiful at Xmas time !
Germany has the best markets. They are magical!

The ornement you made make me thing of "Le Petit Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. It's a french children book about a Prince in Space. Very Poetic.
I think the first stuffy at the market is supposed to be a capybara?
Yay❤❤❤
I’m favoured financially with Bitcoin ETFs,.$90,700 biweekly profit regardless of how bad it gets on the economy
Huge! Been trying to trade on my own for a while now, but it isn’t going well. few weeks ago I lost about $40,000 in the trade. Can you please at least advise me on what to do?
It's all thanks to Robert Marion, God bless America 🇺🇸
Mr Marion Such a genuine personality!! He is really a good investment advisor. I was privileged to attend some of his seminars. That’s how I start my crypto investment.
Robert platform maintains a unique perspective and is very transparent with their investors. Regardless of whether or not he outperforms. I will forever stay invested!
This man has really change the life of many people from different countries and I'm a testimony of he's trading platform.
Kinsley at the window in the intro is the cutest thing ever
