I've had much better luck mining with the drills running at a low speed. They bounce around less and grind far more consistently, plus they use less fuel.
normally, the power slider doesn't affect consumption, i've done a lot of testing some months ago and max power and minimum power on any level of GAS engine ( I'VE ONLY TESTED GAS DONT INSULT IF IT'S DEIFFERENT WITH ELEC) stops at the exact same time.
@@weewoo341 power slider certainly does affect consumption because mass is taken into effect. the more power you have the faster it spins the bearings, this consumes more power to go faster. makes perfect sense and the math in the gas engine script itself states this as such. speed isn't free.
Mount a crane on the tailer at the back with a grapple on it and the next to it mount a arm with the drill head one all controlled from one seat on crane at back of trailer saves time loading and also on multiple vehicles and steps
Personally I'd build a claw arm similar to the farmer collecter for picking up rocks. Lose the drawbridge door, and trigger the pusher and drills with sensors so you don't have to think about order of operations, you can just get straight back to picking up a new rock.
You could convert the pusher to pinch the rocks, extend a pole or two under it in case it slips and then lift the pinchers up like a forklift. Will need more weight on the back but this way you don't need to entirely shred the cute pusher idea. You really are good at minturized efficiency. Every build exercises my eyebrows quite a bit XD.
You should put that drill onto the Little bulldozer and builen on the back of the trailer a Little garage with a ramp to go to the ground and close the garage and in the garage you can weld him for extra safety
Was at a trade show once and saw a robot arm that was using several tools. Tools were mounted in a star pattern and the fixture on the end of the arm would rotate depending on what tool is needed so that same arm could stamp the part number, stamp part info, and then cut the part to size. I think a similar idea would work great on this mining trailer: one arm mounted to the trailer itself that has a drill or can flip the end around for a grabber.
Get rid of the drawbridge style, downwards-opening door and make the trailer sit as close to the ground as possible. Then put the hitch pin and trailer wheels on pistons so you can raise the trailer to move it without it dragging on the ground. Edit: Make a replica _Killdozer_ and use it as you rock mover. That would be epic
Great build kAN! you should weld your double wishbone suspension vehicle to the back of your trailer and add a bulldozer pushing mechanism to push the stone into your trailer! ;)
It's definitely possible to push multiple rocks with a bigger vehicle. Just bulk that up with some higher-tier concrete, widen the wheel base and the blade and put some slanted"wedge" pieces (base extension or small steel bracket, from road security checkpoints outside warehouses) on the bottom of the blade so you don't drive over them. The excavator/grappling crane sounds good, as long as it can grab multiple rocks and isn't too slow. A more powerful front loader/dozer would work great with the current trailer, especially if you also put slanted parts on the end of the ramp.
I wish they had angled blocks so you could make a better ramp and a scoop for your mini dozer. So here's an idea, for your dozer maybe put a small floor and some rotors on the dozing part to lift it? Allows you too change the angle of the dozer's pusher and a floor to actually scoop the chunks and lift them of the ground. Maybe some front grabbers that swing in from the front to push the rocks into the scoop?
i'm loving the trailer a lot. The little bulldozer didn't get the job done but i think you got the right idea with the Loader. If it were me, i wouldn't change the trailer at all, i would simply improve on, or change the bulldozer to something that works better and that's it. The trailer is perfect as is, even with the side door.
I'd make something like a hopper with drills at the bottom and resource collectors around them and then a crane gantry that'd pick the whole giant rock of the ground and put it in the grinder.
I would: A) put lights in the roof of the trailer so you can see what's going on inside during the night; and B) make a crane on top of the trailer, perhaps where you had space for the bulldozer. You could also make the door be on the roof and move the proposed lights to the floor, this way you can load the rocks from the top of the trailer.
Mark peeler had an idea for an rv, but i think you should have food storage in the nose of the truck for the same reason. I remember that you removed the food depositing system from the truck, so I think that you could have quite a bit of storage space for even spuds!
I think a simple fix for the bulldozer would be wedges along the bottom edge of the blade, cause the biggest problem (aside from not pushing much) is you kept driving over them on the ramp. Robot arm is probably the way to go, tho if they're that heavy it'll have to be really sturdy. Top-loading, of course, but maybe with a latchable lid to keep them from bouncing out?
for scooping up the rocks, use the ramp pieces, that you can take from the rooftop of a warehouse. The rooftop is not part of the warehouse complex, gameplay wise, so you can basically take with you all building blocks, that you can disassemble there.
I think the way to go about the mini bulldozer situation is to make a scooping vehicle that has a bottom layer + walls which can be pushed into the actual grinder itself. It'll save time, require less effort, and overall make pife easier. Also, put stuff on a max spinning L.5 Controller instead of engines on Loop, it saves fuel for more important scenarios Love your content, keep it up
If you build a scoop on the bulldozer you might be able to lift rocks over the edge of the grate/door. You'd probably need a heavy counterbalance though
Adding to the side door with some sort of scraper that pulls items onto the door and closes the door loading them into the grinder area could work. Then you just need to push the big stone into the collection area near the side door.
I built a refinery with a large gantry crane capable of grabbing and lifting those huge bolders that break off into the back of my crusher. Those Big boulders that break off are really heavy and so satisfying to watch it get pushed into my drills and into the refinebot
How about inserting the rocks from below the trailer? Lika a cage on pistons, that seals the rocks, when you lower it. So you just need to drive over the rocks, or push them below the cage
You should definitely try to make a crane like arm on the back of the trailer to pick up the rocks. You could try to make it with pistons to get additional reach on the arm.
If you can get the rocks close you could have an arm go out from the trailer, drop down, then pull the rocks into the maw of the beast. Also could double joint the ramp so it folds down flat to the ground.
Maybe the minidozer dont need a picker but the refinery trailer needed one. The minidozer does its job which is to push the rocks. You can create an automatic robot arm to pick up the rocks like garbage trucks pick up massive garbage bins
A big box that goes over the rocks and then drills down from the top is the most efficient way to mine. The walls keep everything in and the drills crush it. If the whole roof moves you can put collectors and refinery bots on top to collect everything.
maybe get a downscaled version of the thing you have for the farmers. probably just slap a claw on the crusher trailer and use that to pick up rocks and put them in directly, by cutting a hole out the top.
What this really needs is a big, heavy bulldozer on a second flatbed behind the grinder trailer. For extra bonus points, make the trailer have a ramp for the bulldozer to drive up.
When you make the trailer again you can make the loader on the back of the truck like the caged framers trailer. I would keep the side door as it can be useful in some cases and put a top door on the top
How about borrowing a couple ideas from Alaska gold rush and Squiddy? Use Squiddy's conveyor belt idea and Parker's Frankenstein conveyor idea. Build the conveyor onto the truck so you can load the conveyor and it can load the hopper it doesn't have to be all that big
Imo the crane idea would be great and would make your trailer awesome, since you could have a more vertical setup = more rocks at once. what about a crane with the suspension glitch and a big storage in the back, like that you line up with the rocks and with un button it puts it in the storage, once full you line you up with the trailer and with one button it loads up the trailer . great stuff, so much ideas now !!! thank you
Maybe switch out the door blocks for a couple of ramps so there's no lip to go over, and just make the loading vehicle bigger and heavier, maybe put the grabbers on pistons so you can pinch the rocks and lift them a tiny bit off the ground to move them.
I thick you should make the little pusher be a mix of a forklift/bulldozer to move the rocks and I think it will improve the Weight issue but also the speech
I made something similar to this in my world cause I hated the whole idea of a full drill/refinery on one vehicle. So, here’s what I found out during my R&D. 1. I made a front end loader that scoops up the rocks by lowering the bucket and the sending out a grapple to pull the rock in as I tilt the bucket. You need the puller to lock the rock into the bucket so you can go faster. But it take practice to know how to position each rock to scoop them. 2. There are 3 tiers of rocks. Tier 1 - First break, Very Heavy Tier 2 - 2nd break, Heavy Tier 3 - Raw rod, medium This is important to how heavy your loader will need to be to maneuver the rocks around. Remember, this is a front end loader. The goal is to break the node down to the Tier 1 and pick it up and drop it into the grinder. So having enough counter weight is key. 3. I put a drill on the back that runs off 3 bearings and a controller so it is long but, I used the counter weights from the big factories to help with weight. FREE GRINDING! 4. The electric engine is nice as it adds torque to get the bucket under the rocks. I added the small wedges to the front to make teeth so the rocks will roll up much easier. The only problem with this is that when you turn the engine too high it wants to flip when you stop, this is the down flaw to using electric. I wish they would add a low and high mode for this engine. That way you can swap between speed and torque. THIS WOULD BE A GAME CHANGER. 5. I use a 4 wheel triangle shape system to have better handling. The two front wheels are on no suspension and the rear middle/side-by-side wheels have suspension. This helps with taking off and stoping. It prevents it from tilting forward when under a load. And allows for better control with the electric motor. Feel free to ask any questions, I will try and answer what I can. I will try and upload it to the steam shop so it can be played around with.
Second option sounds way better with a driller and a rock collection bucket that can drop it in the refiner. Its just they are so heavy it could glitch a lot with more than a couple in it.
I agree with your second option, replacing your little pusher vehicle. I say you need a Bobcat e85 excavator with the claw-scoop attachment and front plow. You can have the scoop and your drill on the end of the arm and rotate them on the arm to switch which you use. I know the seat is limited in the number of things it can control, but I think you're up to the task of simplifying the controls with timers, sensors, and under-engineering the design.
I think you could take the little bulldozer and just add pistons to the side plates, because what i noticed was the rocks aren't heavy, the just have a lot of friction.
Hey kan, have an awesome bulldozer modification idea, make the claw of the bulldozer reach its own back to make it have its own storage area so when its full you can dump it in the refiner
Oh dude! I just had a thought. Have a dedicated Tractor for that Trailer, that is the Bucket Loader. Drop the trailer, break the initial rock formation, then dump it all in. While it's processing the stone/metal, move to the next formation. Lather, rinse repeat.
If you have the piston stop a little short, you could use sensors ganged to an OR gate to activate the drills - they'll only turn on when there's something to crush. The bigger problem I find is filling the collectors - a single refiner can't keep up. It's the heaviest thing on the trailer, though. My current go-to is to have a vehicle with drills on the front and arm on pistons go up and over the rock and pull it in like giving it a hug. A few extra blocks keep the stone in and a collector gobbles it all up.
Dude. Keep this idea! Just make a better bull dozer type vehicle! I love doing this kind of stuff. Totally not the most efficiant, but hella fun. Maybe make a dozer that can pick up the pieces and dump them from the top into your trailer. It will remove the side door issue. But, then again, you would need to make a much bigger little dozer. I dunno. I know you can make something awesome.
use a piston to push the side door onto the ground flat, then load all the stones onto that, then close the door to dump all the rocks into the refining trailer and youve got it. alternatively, a crane that can switch between mining mode and pickup mode would be awesome, and to make that work, just make a roof that opens rather than the side. either way, those are my ideas
Hey kAN, you inspired my cousin and I to get this game. We live 8 hours away from each other, and it's been great using this game to keep in touch. Regarding the bulldozer not working that great, you should build another arm for the mining arm. One with a drill, and another with a grabber to actually pickup and drop the rocks into the trailer. That would be awesome
my vision of this trailer is - there is a hatch on top of it, on the highest point there is attached a lever that rotates, extends forward and than extends an arm down with a drill bit and some kind of bulldozer hook thing, so you crush rocks with a drill, than collect them with a hook, move it over a trailer and drop them in it, and than refine
here some suggestions from me 1. make the trailer using wood, therefore the trailer is less heavy than extruded metal blocks 2. make some kind of crane system the same like farmer cage crane system. 3. attach the drill and crane system to the back of your trailer. 4. it far more convenience, if you can attach drill to the crane system as well that's all from me...
put a shovel arm parallel to the door (it could be the door it self), so you just need to push the rocks in front of the door in a resemble distance and the shovel arm will drag the rock inside its belly
Change the refinery into a top loader and have a vehicle for gathering the rocks with a crane. The vehicle could be a front loaded dump truck with a crane and then put a collapsible ramp on the rear. The ramps from the top of a warehouse should be perfect for that.
Or perhaps even better. A small truck that picks up the rocks with a crane. Have the side door move up with a piston. Have the small truck align with the hole in the side of the trailer and just push the rocks in to the side. That way you can have more ground clearance.
Make ramp longer, so its all way to the ground. I would even considered flat(90 degrees corner), ramp that turn 180, so it will not roll back. But pushing rock on block can be tricky. About loader its harder because those big rock blocks are heavy as hell. Lifting them up is going to be hard. Catching them between two pistons(or bending arms) could work, but that will be more work than just pushing them. Make your loader block or two wider, so big rock fit perfectly inside. That should help pushing it without bouncing on top. Make it height adjustable, because terrain can be bad and if theres gap then its more likely bounce on top.
Why not add a paddle that makes the rocks roll forwards onto your dozer. It will move them easier and also provide the much needed lift for getting the rocks up the ramp. Make sure you fine tune the speed though... We don't need flying rocks yet we don't want it too slow as that will make it well... Slower XD
Oh btw I'm not a huge streamer yet (and I may never be) but I would love to do a collaboration stream with you if you are willing. (My stream is on twitch and I'm nightb49)

I think you could take the little bulldozer and just add pistons to the side plates, because what i noticed was the rocks aren't heavy, the just have a lot of friction.
I been looking alot of mining stuff lately , and the only think i have is a horse shoe shave with 5 dillers and it works like a dream
This was a very fun video to watch
You can make a 2 in 1 robot arm, that xan drill the rocks and cvan pick them up, so you don't need a seperate drill or bulldozer.
My first time here. Great video. Makes me want to play.
Do a crane on the trailer!
Love your vids!🤩🤩🥳
use a piston to push the side door onto the ground flat, then load all the stones onto that, then close the door to dump all the rocks into the refining trailer and youve got it. alternatively, a crane that can switch between mining mode and pickup mode would be awesome, and to make that work, just make a roof that opens rather than the side. either way, those are my ideas
Thank god you uploaded ive been bored for so long
my vision of this trailer is - there is a hatch on top of it, on the highest point there is attached a lever that rotates, extends forward and than extends an arm down with a drill bit and some kind of bulldozer hook thing, so you crush rocks with a drill, than collect them with a hook, move it over a trailer and drop them in it, and than refine
Genius!
It may not be faster than just doing it by hand....., BUT, it certainly looks to be WAY more FUN! LoL
make a grinder with drills on the bottom and you just throw the rock in from the top, like a Blender.
here some suggestions from me
1. make the trailer using wood, therefore the trailer is less heavy than extruded metal blocks
2. make some kind of crane system the same like farmer cage crane system.
3. attach the drill and crane system to the back of your trailer.
4. it far more convenience, if you can attach drill to the crane system as well
that's all from me...
make the pipe mesh out of glass when you redesign the bulldozer or figure out something else because you can't rlly see thru well.
You can Carry 7500 and a little bit more but I can be bothered to work it out so now you know how much you can have
Maybe you can put a loader attachment on the truck? Might not work, but always worth a shot.
put a shovel arm parallel to the door (it could be the door it self), so you just need to push the rocks in front of the door in a resemble distance and the shovel arm will drag the rock inside its belly
You should make a scoop that grabs the rocks with pistons for a bigger bulldozer
