Great job Wyatt, nothing but respect to you and Jack. My uncle was a peacekeeper in Cyprus, and he saw some pretty grisly things, so I thank you for treating Jack’s story with the utmost respect.
Normandy and Okinawa? That's f**ken wild man! I've read dozens of books about WW2 and I can't recall having heard anything about US personnel seeing action in both Normandy AND Okinawa. I just ordered his book. God bless you Jack. And thank you Wyatt for sharing his story 🤘
Wow. I love hearing their individual life stories and experiences. Most people, including myself, have no comprehension of how important this generation truly was. And there’s less than 1% of them left. My grandpa was in the Navy as well. He was one of the CeeBees who helped build makeshift runways for planes. Then, he was stationed as a prison guard out in Guam. He and his friends had a pet monkey there. He has a picture of him with it on his shoulder.
Respect for this video, Dude. Jack Sounded like an amazing human being and stone cold badass. What a legend, His life sounds like an awesome movie. Rest In Peace Jack. 🇬🇧🤝🇺🇲
Wyatt thank you for sharing your interaction with this wonderful, heroic, and humbled man. Jack seems like a great person to shoot the shit with. I have heard his name before probably because of either his book , documentary, or his comedy. To witness both Normandy and Okinawa and the ways inhumanity was on full display during these two invasions not to mention the entirety of the second world war, to find the bravery to continue, to trust, to love and embrace life as Jack Gutman obviously did is more example of the character of the man versus a faithful willingness to call it a miracle of a god. Hope you get an update on Jacks health soon and if you could please share. Thanks again man.
much respect for this D-Day veteran, my dad was a gunners mate in the Navy 1940s . We need to renew Patriotism in this country, most have no idea what they went through. thank you for showing this video.
This is fantastic! Thanks for doing the interview. We need to preserve these stories.
Oh my God, please send a copy of this to the WW2 museum in New Orleans.
If I didn't work in mental health, I'd be knee deep in a history MA program right now, with my focus being WW1.
