People whining about evil corporations prove the need for automation in the first place. Robots don’t unionize, they don’t show up late, and they don’t decide that they’re worth more despite zero increase in value to the company. Enjoy your $20 minimum wage while you still have a job 👍🏻
if everyone upskilled to machine operators only a few would get a job. essentially its like the floor manager would be the only human on the floor. A warehouse would only need a fraction of the human workforce. the working class of america would be forced to move to developing countries to find work and lower cost of living. AI/Robotics should be used for healthcare and government application only.
The moment robots learn how to load trucks sequentially from a belt line for delivery companies ie fed ex/ups its a wrap. Package handlers amount to 70% of their work force. Would cost the company billions to set that kind of operation at every wear-house.

An Amazon automation manager. They can afford to pay nothing, because they have an unlimited supply of desperate people. And it'll only get worse.
@@Chopsuey087 okay. That makes more sense.
How much did Amazon pay for this?
Training and skilling up at work are non existent. I have not experienced or witnessed this in my entire corporate life. Only layoffs - then watching the producers fight for scraps to make their managers look good.
And When you ask your sup or hr they will tell you there aren't any spots in the program.
Will companies employ the same number of employees or reduce their workforce?
Anyone could do it, but not everyone is needed.
People whining about evil corporations prove the need for automation in the first place. Robots don’t unionize, they don’t show up late, and they don’t decide that they’re worth more despite zero increase in value to the company. Enjoy your $20 minimum wage while you still have a job 👍🏻
They are lying, most lose their job and fired from automation
Heck Yeah….Love This
Basically if you party more than you study for new skills you're on the chopping block.
if everyone upskilled to machine operators only a few would get a job. essentially its like the floor manager would be the only human on the floor. A warehouse would only need a fraction of the human workforce. the working class of america would be forced to move to developing countries to find work and lower cost of living. AI/Robotics should be used for healthcare and government application only.
If only more companies would invest in their employees...not their board members!
The moment robots learn how to load trucks sequentially from a belt line for delivery companies ie fed ex/ups its a wrap. Package handlers amount to 70% of their work force. Would cost the company billions to set that kind of operation at every wear-house.
yeah they really aren't looking to hire mechatronics and robotics apprentices in the US now
A truck is not an office
Why are they acting like this is something new. If you’re at a job and you want to move up learn the skills and network and make it happen. 🤷🏽♂️
2:00 If "anyone can do this" why do they get paid 6-figures???
🤣Because it is financial suicide. She is independent. You pay for the gas, truck, maintenance and health care while taking all the risk for Walmart.
Also, you work 70hrs a week on the book.. probably closer to 90 when you factor in the other things she has to do off the clock (and thats being generous).
Never home
Depending on your schedule 1-3 days before you can stop for a shower.
I got out of the industry, too much bs.. not enough pay and best of all.. automation on its way to take those jobs too.
Great PR. We all know there's going to be jobs watching over the bots, but it still doesn't cover the many jobs it takes away.
Truck driver looks amazing
Don't be deceived. The ratio is close to 100 to 1, meaning for every 100 layoffs 1 new job gets created that requires a brand new skill.
Which means the other 99 are out of luck.
Soooo a company offered TRAINING???? Geee....it's like people do want to work....
Awesome! Do that and stop believing bombastic politicians telling you they will bring your job back. They won’t. And the longer you wait for them the worst it is for you. Move on and learn something new. I did, have not looked back and I am super happy and secured for my retirement.
this would only be good if you can train as many as you let go because of automation
Fluff piece 💯
Did Amazon and Walmart pay for this ad... I mean "report"
Fact is, Amazon is paying for these *_few people_* to upskill by laying off *_the many_*
Software can replace "most" human minds, but not all.
Never to late to get educated
What no one tells you is the Cost associated with that education. Most people are in debt before they even begin their "careers".
@mepulley7913 u don't have to go to a 4 yr college anymore. What are you talking about
@@mepulley7913 Always excuses. One can learn anything online.
@@batman-cu1ep - Depends on the field you choose. Most employers say they "prefer" a four year degree. Much hype was made about "Smashing the Paper Ceiling" but you still see plenty of office job postings where they prefer a four year degree. Not all, but a lot do.
what happens when a robot can drive your truck
It's already happening. I remember 60 minutes covering a story about two years ago where the auto-driven trucks were preforming on the road. Amazon already has been using this tech for their trucks.
At a certain point automation will cause massive unemployment. Not saying its gonna happen now, but in 15 20 yrs we'll start to see it
Robots must be pay social security, medicare and Medicaid too, like a regular employee 👍👍
Lady liberty coronet prospect is a crown.
wow, this is good news!
Now THATS an Ad 😌
The trades are the worst jobs for the majority of workers. Unless their unions of course or if they are self employed. These people are jokes. There's a shortage for a reason...
74% are wrong. They need to learn steam/stem. period. you don't need to go through expensive schooling either
so what school or courses do you recommend
Most people aren't STEM material, though.
@@theotheleo6830 industrial revolution happened and most had to relearn. from farmers they became the blue collar jobs we have now.
@@DedesFewscres What does that have to do with STEM?
@@theotheleo6830 what part didn't you understand? google it, apply yourself 🤣 My comment was straight forward, I don't understand what flew over your head
Looks like this is gonna put a lot of people out of work. I wonder who’s gonna be able to buy stuff in their stores if they don’t have any money sounds like that’s gonna put them out of business as well.
You will always need someone to repair products after robots and someone to fix them!!! Easy manual labor like this anyone or almost anything can do it will get replaced
That truck job will be replaced by autonomous trucks...
60k in management is hilarious low
Welcome to 2008 and the ever changing world of work.
The white zone is for loading and unloading only, there is no stopping in the red zone.
manager roles for 60k? effing weak. good for him but managers make from 80-100 by me
Wait a minute you replace humans that make mistakes for a robot that makes mistakes planet Earth is doomed😂
But someone has to repair these robots because they don’t last forever
They do know the bot will upgrade to self-learning A.I. then gone are their jobs.
