- In 2015, Lesley Stahl traveled to Kenya, where a "mobile money" revolution was sweeping the country. Kenyans were sending and receiving money on their cell phones through the platform M-Pesa, which improved commerce and brought basic necessities to poorer areas.
"60 Minutes" is the most successful television broadcast in history. Offering hard-hitting investigative reports, interviews, feature segments and profiles of people in the news, the broadcast began in 1968 and is still a hit, over 50 seasons later, regularly making Nielsen's Top 10.

@jamesambrocio you my friend believe in fairytale. Western civilization think that other countries are as transparent as developing countries. But that's far from reality. You believe that el salvador is having all th3 bitcoins in their treasury that they are selling on their app? But no one can verify how many coins are in circulation on the app. Start using critical thinking, not everything is what they say it is.

Your own bank is the thief. You already know banks create money out of thin air on a spreadsheet at zero interest and give it to themselves to then lend it out at interest to you in the form of credit. It is a ponzi scheme you all gladly allow.
It is interesting that Americans find this so fascinating that they did a documentary on it.
In Kenya, this is as common as bread.
It just goes to show that innovations should be based on local needs.
It’s literally how Americans do 99% of transactions. You must be joking right?
Can you see the down side??
The technology itself is nothing special... it works this way because you are allowed to use it without KYC.
I think in Africa, in Drc we also have Mpesa
People in London where I live are shocked when they come across a phone that has 2 SIM inserts but in Somalia where I was born everyone has a phone with 2 SIMS instead of 2 seperate phones because a lot of their family/friends are in America/Australia/Europe and they communicate daily/weekly with them. But white Europeans don't have relatives in different continants to support/send money to. So like you innovations are based on needs.
Even if you invented the first waterproof jacket in Somalia you'd be out of business before the end of the year because Somalia for example, only got 3 days of rain last year. No need for waterproof jackets in deserts haha
THIS is journalism! WOW i like to see how countires are advancing. The USA needs to take notes!!
They have, block inc's cash app and paypals venmo

The United States has to be very careful; we have the most sophisticated con men in the world
The US has to protect their robber barons who dominate their money markets.
What do you mean struggling? Those in power want to keep the status quo.
On the flipside kenyans are struggling to have a basic account…. Something very old and basic
