I bought my Sierra Live a few months back on one of the Almost Perfect sells. 835 was an absolute steal for that guitar. If I had 635 I'd buy this one too on that sell. Amazing job! No guitar is perfect but for the money these are close.

Love my Oliver Mahogany Live ! Great tone...and the Oliver is very affordable. The more expensive models come with a hardshell and case and the others a lovely gig bag. The "live" versions which have pickups with volume and tone controls.

I bought my niece one of the cheapest orangewood guitars last year for Christmas, maybe $220 i think. I was blown away with how fantastic it was. Easily competing with many $500-600 guitars.

Last year I bought my brother the Oliver Mahogany model B stock for around $200. I was super impressed by the sound and quality for such a low price.

I bought my Orangewood about 2 yrs ago & am still very happy with it. Fishman electronics, gig bag & plays really well @ just over $200. Worth every penny... I'm extremely curious on their higher end models as well

I'd like to meet this universe you speak of! My perspective is quite different. Music keeps me on the tracks!!! Love your work. I played to one of your backing tracks for a friend and he said, " Is that a DP track?" He knew! I thought that was pretty cool. Keep making these videos. I am learning so much!!!!

What a lovely guitar. Sadly, it seems that Orangewood guitars are not currently available in the UK, even via Andertons of Guildford.

I've been a Martin guy my whole life. D42, D18, 000-15M, SC-13e, OM28 and more. The 00015M and the SC13e are reasonably priced, about $1500, SC13e is Mexican built with electronics and the 00015M is US built without electronics. My point is that I hate taking the D42 and the OM28 to gigs even though I had electronics added (non evasive style LRBaggs lyric so as not to affect the value although some might argue it wouldn't). Anyway I found the Orangewood's early and purchased an Ava Spruce top in 2002 if I remember correctly. Years ago I got tired of losing money on buying non-brand name guitars so I spent the money on Martins and I don't regret it. Then I got tired of the size of the dreadnoughts, so I went for a 000-15M and was happy with it as a daily player for some time. But over time I missed the lows that you get with the larger body guitars so I bought an OM, but it's a much more an expensive guitar and I hate taking it places for the fear of damage.
As you can probably figure by now, I've been trying to balance price, sound, playability, and travel risk which might be a subheading under price really. I found my balance in the Ava.
The Ava plays well right out of the box. The guitar is well designed and well built and thats not me saying that, thats my luthier saying that. Now compared to my more expensive Martin's, the Ava does not hold up against them, but frankly I don't think they were made to. Amplified however the Ava sounds just as good....thats right I said just as good. Now before you shake your head and say he's an Orangewood employee, I am not. I've been playing for about 40 years now and I've played them all. The Ava body feels like the OM28 body to me. The Ava delivers some really good lows and I like the lows. The ability to amplify it right out of the box is great and the fact that it comes with a hardshell case and free shipping is just even better. Even though Orangewood "sets it up" for you, the truth is there is no one setup for every player so take that claim with a grain of salt. I tend to like a little lighter action so I had my luthier bring it to my liking and I'm very happy with the way it plays.
All in all I guess I'm saying that the Ava is the perfect cross for me between a great priced guitar that has a smaller body, but not so small I lose the lows I like so much. Once setup to my liking, playability is equal to any of my Martins, and lastly I am not concerned for the risk of traveling with it. It hits my sweetspot I guess is what I'm saying. Right now Orangewood has Ava Mahogany on sale at $795 with hardshell case and the LR Baggs Anthem. I just ordered it.

Amazing sounds from that OW solid tone wood, I trust your judgement as a real player and musician , also with your broadexperience with martin guitars. It’s awesome to hear your feedback after playing. A few years ago OW didn’t ship to Europe yet, has that changed Pete? Love your channel ♥️💟☮️

You can ONLY buy one of these IF you live in the USA or until recently, Canada.
They DO NOT SHIP anywhere else.
I really wanted to try one when they first came out but after two years of waiting I gave up. It's a shame they can't get their distribution sorted out.

Thanks for checking out an Orangewood I'm always curious about guitars I haven't had a chance to see or hear yet. BTW does that happen to be an ES-350 TDN hanging above your Marshall stack off to the side? It caught my attention as I own a 1963 Gibson ES-350 TDN.

Thank you Belo. I can't really remember which pick I as using. I use different picks for different styles. I have spend some time using different picks to get used to them so I am not tied down to one type, because they all sounds different. So you can have 1 guitars and 10 or 20 different picks and you'll get different tones from the same guitar. P
