Life too short for long RUclips videos? Please see the ‘Interesting bits and go-to sections’ information below.
Well, it had to happen eventually. We three have been friends for many years now so it is with great pleasure and much love that we welcome the wonderful, the inimitable, and the very Danish Peter Honoré to the show.
Peter is known and loved by countless RUclips viewers across the globe from his work on Andertons TV. But he did plenty of interesting, real musician stuff before that too - if you want some history on this Great Dane (woof) watch this: • The Captain Meets Pete...
In this video Peter talks about his collaboration with Thorpy Pedals on The Dane Overdrive & Booster, as well as entering into a little Tele-off with Dan’s pair of pickin’ planks.
Yes, we could have gone on much longer… but there will be more when we build Peter’s pedalboard. In the meantime, please enjoy the episode!
Please note this is Mick’s board not Peter’s… but with The Dane on it!
We still haven’t built Peter’s board. That will happen at some point.

My god I love you guys..... 💜🥓🦄
Peter Honoré Mmm bacon...
Make sure you have .11s on in the next episode! @Peter Honoré
Pete, I've only been playing for a few years, but have increased my string gauges continuously. I'm not certain about the tone, but feel the guitar experience is better with heavier strings. Chords seem to be easier to play, they seem to stay in tune better, muting seems easier and the overall guitar seems more robust and less delicate with heavier strings. Of course, it's a personal choice depending on your style. But, heavier seems to be a better fit for me. Best of luck with the pedal. 1 suggestion - make the letters on the control panel black. Chrome is so difficult to see....when you're old like me :-)
Ah like to do dat!
Don't we all
Oh how I miss the guitar paradiso days. That was the best segment on Andertons because both Mick n Pete were in the same room.
I agree, only I loved Acoustic Paradiso a little more
Agreed, great vids to watch over
the best one IMHO was the Duesenberg episode. simply magic!
Anmol Karki bring back paradiso!!!
In addition to Mick and Pete, I also liked Pete and Ariel Posen, and Mick and Ariel Posen - cannot remember if the three of them were ever there together.
Now I watch the occasional Andertons video (watched one yesterday in which Rob Chapman again did a staggeringly accurate job identifying Marshall and Marshall sound-alike amps), but find them mostly tedious. Apparently they are changing their way of doing things - let's hope it makes things more interesting.
Rumour has it the kids are still at the school gate to this day!
Pete's been doing a lot of stuff lately. Makes the internet a little bit of a better place.
hes fab!
Great dude.
Red tele, Purple tele. They walk into the room ready to duel, ready to show off their tones. The mood lightens, the competition softens as once rivals now play in tandem as friends. Purple tele, Red tele.
Mcdanny out comes a maroon tele.
Classic Vader vs Windu...
I thought for an instant this was going to be a bar joke. More beautiful words have never been spoken. Genuine tears. Okay I'm tired, it's late.
My wife is now getting into the routine. “Ah Friday night - That Pedal Show. Is that Danish Pete?”
if that's what your wife has to do on a friday, watch her husband watch a youtube vid about pedals, it's only a matter of time before she is getting rifled by some big LeeRoy that can excite her.

wow must suck to be married to someone that takes an interest in things you like
Dan killed that intro improv.
I completely agree!
Whenever Dan is playing to a track or with someone else, he becomes a different guitar play. Him and Mick should jam more, or use Pete's backing tracks in their videos.
Agree!
Whoopty Doo h7h7h;
Danish Pete on TPS? Be still, my heart!
Playing elevates around this guy. He needs to be everywhere for the betterment of all.
Agreed! A few fresh licks in there...
Benjamin Lebofsky Hot Damn Dan!!
That's what I always say. It's like everyone sounds better
Benjamin Lebofsky I think it’s because he doesn’t over play. Lots of feeling and dynamics.
When Pete was a touring guitar player for big artists, nobody knew him. He stopped touring, and we all know him now. And adore him. Amazing.
Danish Pete, I love this guy. He's a riot as well as genuinely wonderful player!
You guys don’t know it but you are not only providing entertainment, education and information, but you provide such uplifting and lighthearted food for the guitarists hearts. Bless you guys!
Thank you Darren!
Danish Peter always looks at the people listening to him playing guitar like he's a kid showing other kids how he can fart the tune to Happy Birthday
Goodness me how well you know him!
Le Pete-omane!
With the same enthusiasm.
@@hoboroadie Seriously underrated comment.
@@kaiying74 Well it really only works in French so no wonder :D
Just can't stress it enough - all you guys rule so much, not only because of your knowledge and expertise ... it's pure joy and entertainment to listen to you ! Thanks for bringing Pete into your show - he's definitely THE MAN !!!! AND BRING HIM BACK PLEASE :) Cheers
I know this is 4 years old but wow great sounding pedal. This is all from your guys play. All of you are amazing.
Put one pedal on and find it's sweet spot, then do that to another AND THEN hook them together to see how that sounds. Too many pedals not dialed in sounds like mushy crap.
Got to agree you have to reach a certain age and standard to appreciate and understand the telecaster. Took me only 25 years😕
I love how all over the place Pete is
Too much caffeine. Of Coca Cola. 😂sniff.
I love how Pete has come dressed as John Mayer. What a great bloke.
Every time a guitarist drops a pick, it ends up in Pete's pocket, it's the only explanation why they can't be found.
Or the pump filter in my washing machine..!
I want mine back ... all of them !!!
You could be on to something. All those missing socks, I'm looking at you Pete.
I can attest that the Danish Pete backing tracks are all kinds of wonderful.
3 of my favorite guitar players in one room finally. So much talent.
3 minutes in, and some of the best tones I’ve ever heard on TPS. Everyone should have a Tele. Or two.
Recipe for tone?
Great teles, beloved daughters, awesome stickers.
TPS + Danish Pete = great start to the weekend. Well done lads.
I could not even go 14 minutes without liking this.
The Danish Viking has landed. Rock some more Prince, Pete!
What a show... tasty Tele tones... my favourite guitar absolutely & and what a comparison between Red, Pete’s Purple beast & butters!
This was one of the best shows ever- Peter: Really great playing- epic....
Is this show getting TOO good? I haven’t even watched 3 seconds of this video and I know it will probably be my favorite episode ever.
The 3 Teleketeers are back baby !! Love telecaster so muchhh
I have not watched this yet.. but I’m pretty sure it’s the greatest thing on the old inter webs today!! Love
Danish Pete - you see him here, you see him there, you see him everywhere...
Can’t get enough of the bloke, keep it up Pete you deserve every success!
Mick, Dan and Danish Pete in a room together may be the greatest example of collective self-indulgence I have ever witnessed. Keep up the great work boys. We love it!
Well done, gentlemen. Wonderful mix of personality and gear. Rock on.
One thing that struck me is how great The Dane sounds with humbuckers - fat, but not muddy. Noice!
I've been waiting to listen to these two Tele's being played side by side. 😍👌
Red is still the dream.
I've said it a million times and I'll say it again: Those two (red and purple) Telecasters are the best I've ever heard. They both have "something" to their sound. Different "something"s but both amazing.
Everybody should own a Danish Pete!
It's a Tele-thon! Nice work guys!
This is what its all about, fun, cool, guitar banter. All delivered in a easy listening format.
Nice to hear you three together, good playing, beautiful tones.. Couldn't ask for more. Pete.
the boost side of the Dane should be made available just on its own.. the addition of the lows control is genius.. thats a boost I'd have in a heartbeat.. great show fellas.
oneguitar Thorpy has strongly hinted ( sad git that I am for knowing this) that’s in the works. I’ve known him online for years, well before Thorpy FX existed but I’ve never owned one of his production pedals ( I used a friend’s pre production Thorpy MIAB) although the boost, if it turns up, will be on my shopping list.
The internet’s two most famous worn sparkle colored teles in the same room
Tasty licks, Danish Pete, the Schwang-meisters and yet another boosty/overdrive pedal of love! My Friday night is made yet again!
Oh my god, the intro made me remember the time I would spend with friends playing guitar with my neighbors, we would even play siting on the ground on the street. That is for me the real personal experience of music, playing with other humans, not just playing in front of a computer.
Totally! It’s what it’s all about. Niiiiiice. :0)
After seeing 3 of my fav RUclips persons, each with a Tele in their hands, in my recommended, I had no choice but pick up my Jay Turser Tele and click :)
Oh yeh, best way to start my day, red and purple rock! can't wait to see this so many people are watching this video right now it won't even play right now here😂
Danish Pete puts a smile on my face. A very big smile, a happy smile. Thank you Danish Pete for you are the Telecaster god!
I wondered where that was going for a while ;-P
Yeah. These Danes!
Great show. Awesome playing all round - and epic tones from The Dane. All of you have such great musicality! Look forward to the follow-up.. :)
Ah! Can't wait for the next Danish Pete episode!
Just woke up from night shift saw this and thought I was still asleep and dreaming! I dropped my phone trying to speed click on this video! Only my wife should make me feel the way I feel right now!! 😂
Watched this so many times, awesome. Can’t wait for the Danish Pete board build👍.
LOVE the jams, LOVE the Teles, LOVE Danish Pete jamming with you, THANK YOU! I would be thrilled to just see you guys jam and tell stories, gear demos optional.
“It is so hot in this room!”
*proceeds to take out comedically large bottle... AGAIN*
I'd just accepted that as 'bigger bottles are better value'.
Now you've pointed it out I'm beginning to have suspicions about everything he does. Maybe he's a comic genius!
It's going to bring a new dimension to watching the next episode.
Awesome episode. Pete is so amazing
Simply Thank-you.
Just soooo much pleasure in all of this show, how can any other Friday top this?
Episode 2 - Danish Pete's board build and further playing will be damned close. YEEAAH!
Pete's a cool dude and there really is something special about teles. So I think I'll enjoy this one.
P.S. I was watching Mr Bonamassa the other day. He is such a guitar geek, I couldn't help thinking he would be a great guest on the show. I'm gonna email him and tell him that the next time he's in the UK he MUST pay you guys a visit. :)
Obviously there’s an open invitation to Joe. He doesn’t like pedals though, so it might be a no. ;0)
Lol, good point about him not being a pedal guy but he is still a total tone geek when it come to amps and using the guitar controls to sculpt the tone. It might be fun to have a "no pedal" Pedal Show, and perhaps it could be a challenge to see if 'we' can find a pedal that he likes or 'must have'.
That was good, I enjoyed it lots, shame it wasn't longer, damn those meddling kids. I look forward to part 2.
That was really good fun (with terrific playing and a super quality sounding pedal too)...
Great stuff! Always look forward to more from all three.
This is what Fridays are for.
Picks up two Fender Teles. Dan: "they are fundamentally different guitars."
I believe only car and bike gearheads would comprehend the truth of this statement 😁
The two greatest teles I’ve ever heard in one room together!
when mick and pete come together, that's some magic happened! great sound great playing!love you guys
Yeah!!!!! Mick- I saw you last night at the Joey Landreth gig. Should have said hi. Can't wait to hang out with all of you three legends on the guitar breaks holiday in a few weeks time.
See you there Will! Should be fun!
Schwanger's Convention: when Telecasters are getting swapped around. ;)
Throw the car keys into the basket :-O
When I saw the thumbnail and title, I thought "The perfect TPS episode is here". Like Guitar Paradiso plus Dan.
Wonderful opening playing Dan. Don't remember ever hearing you play blues. Great pocket.
Ahh, cheers mate, that’s very kind :)
northof50now it did sound great and dan also played a lovely blues solo in their first Kirk fletcher episode.
You know what amp also takes pedals quite well, is very well built and can be found used on eBay/reverb for a really good price? The older Peavey classics.
So, if you can't afford all the nice boutique amps and don't wanna join the fender club, give it a chance.
I LOVE how Danish Pete just hands guitars out and picks up guitars. Whereas Dan and Mick tend to keep their hands off each other's guitars. Very refreshing to see. But I understand the respect of keeping hands off other people's property. It's just funny and very entertaining to watch.
Dan's opening solo was just wicked! Bravo!
So glad Pete was finally on the show. Now I’m just waiting for Ed O’Brien and Adrian Utley.
"you got to pick the kids in 15 minutes".
Video lasts another 19 minutes. Bye kids :D
😂😎
Wow! Fantastic show! Really loved this one today! Thank you guys!!!
This is what it's all about for me. Love you, Pete!
Dear Lordy this is going to be good!
I came for the dan vs pete tele but that les paul into the dane sounds so sweet-creamy- viscous goodness. maybe pete should put heavier strings and the same bridge as dans tele and they will probably sound the same. seriously the best teles on yt.
Really nice to hear Pete talk for himself and his ideas on the contrary to demoing for Anderton's! Reveals his character so much better.
Great episode. Have him on more often! What a player and great tones.
I bought a beautiful Telecaster Professional last year.
I walked into Guitar Center intending to buy a wha wha and walked out with a gorgeous all rosewood neck Tele...
Under the pick guard I noticed it was already routed for a middle pick so I went ahead and installed one.
Now it's a "Nashville Telecaster".
Although it's really convenient to have those Strat tones I feel I have somehow defiled it.
It took away the mojo, that reason you play a Tele, the simplicity.
I think I'll put it back to stock...
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah Pete. So so so so good.
Is it just me or has Dan’s playing gotten way better over the last year or so....? Good job Dan! Love you guys
It is always fun to watch Danish Pete. The guy is so much fun to watch play and talk. Another plus of this video was the Tele-Off, which was interesting to see the slight differences between the three Telecasters. For a Tele player like me it was fun to watch. You should definitely invite Danish Pete back on your show in the future. His great playing and fun personality are always a pleasure to watch.
Just had mine delivered! I’m so happy 😀
Hooray!
Shaun Wilkes Yeah 🤘🏻🥓
Did it weigh 8lbs?
That’s right. It calls me daddy too.
Of course! They all do if you treat them right ;-P
A Hot Rod with the FROMEL MOD KIT sounds amazing..
Oh holy buckets.....only time to watch the intro but can’t wait to watch this whole episode!!! You guys rock.
I feel like a serious fan boy sipping coffee out of my TPS mug while wearing my new have Schwang shirt. Great show guys Danish Pete has an infectious positive attitude I love that.
Thanks Adam! And for buying stuff too - it keeps us going!
11-48 strings all day baby!
And on some of mine 12's baby! I have no feeling in my finger anyway.....spinal injury...long story
42:18 Mick tests Telecaster balance
+That Pedal Show
Holy smokes Batman, that was incredible! More Danish Pete on the show please!
as a lover of teles, i loved this vid as well. thanks guys, looking forward to the next one!
Please do a Pedalboard and Story show with Dane! With as much sounds as possible! :)
I was waiting for Pete on this show for so long, thank you guys! If you make a "Schwangrila" Shirt - instabuy!
Such a great video and hats off to Pete for designing a great sounding pedal.
The tele shoot out was awesome and Pete statement about picks can change the tone of a guitar is so true.
For those who haven’t tried this, get a bunch of picks and play your acoustic you will soon hear the differences.
That was cool!!! Great show as usual. *High-fives*
Stop making me want to buy things! You know what the ol' Buddha said about desire and suffering...
But he never played a Tele, did he?
Did he also say something about not owning a Tele? Like it was some kind of basic human failing? We think he/it/she did.
I don't think he was down with private ownership, period. OG Commie-Satva
Danish Pete is very Zen tho, so it's all gooood.
Pretty sure that Buddha Geddes owns a few Teles and FX :)
GET YOURSELF A TELE! Seriously... I've always been a Strat and SG type guy, but ever since I got a Tele... man, that was it!
@@ThatPedalShow pretty sure the line was something like "life is suffering and rife with fundamental dissatisfaction -- unless you've a rippin tele." -From the Book of Schwangri-La
@@mattcole8923
That's the one. It's in the section on the Four Noble Tones.
Could not agree more with the comment about Teles being grown up guitars, for years and years I hated them, then all of a sudden it just clicked, now my Tele is up there as one of my favourite guitars, they are amazing and still amazes me how amazingly versatile they are for such a "simple" instrument.
Reading this back I really need a different adjective to amazing in that last sentence.....
I'm amazed you owned up to it.
As for Teles being a grown up instrument, I will say this.
Women's bottoms.
cavetroll87 Growing up always thought a Les Paul and Strat would do me fine! Now own more Teles than any other model(75 Black Custom-92 Blonde American Standard with Joe Barden Danny Gatton Pups-06 1962 AVRI Surf Green Tele) All AWESOME!!! At 51 and 40 years playing... I have grown up! Cheers!!
Watching this on a Sunday afternoon. What. An. Opening. 🙌🏼
I love you all. I find all of you extremely talented and continue to enjoy the episodes. I am now seriously considering upgrading to 11s and picking up "The Dane".
Gents, please, for all of RUclips, call up Fender with Red's serial number and they can email you the whole spec sheet including pickups and wood etc. The world wants to know!
I want to go and see Fender at the Custom Shop to talk about Strats. Wonder if we can take Red as well to examine and go the whole nine yards. Mick here. :0)
@@ThatPedalShow Matt here, hello! When I found a custom shop tele that really connected with me at Guitar Center, I phoned up Fender because I was curious about the specs. Gave them my serial number, and now I have a whole spec sheet for the instrument. Fender recently started including these spec sheets with all of their custom shop instruments by default.
Are you thinking about having a custom Strat made? Custom Shop strats are a dream, I have an Ancho Poblano that I love to death.
Great show as usual!
That Pedal Show Pleeeease do that - AND also with my dream Strat: Mick’s Blue beaut. Then I can plan Christmas 2019 and 2020 in one go!
So it is written, so it will be done.
Mick, re. your going to Fender Custom Shop comment, I've never been a tele player, but Red makes me smile. There's something 'more' about that guitar.
