- This is the Morning Break show from D.C.'s WDVM Channel 9 on Valentine's Day, 1985. Grease took part in a 'Dating Game' where his bachelorettes consisted of a Penthouse Pet, a comedian and a bodybuilder. Watch to the end to find out who he chose! Brought to you by Greaseman.org.

More genuine than stern. Howard Stern’s a fucking sell out or used to love the guy I should’ve gone with my gut instinct that he was a phonetic. When he turns into a politically correct/liberal (Or at least became obvious about it) and promoted Hillary Clinton I was done. I never put the shell back on ever again. I hadn’t been listening to it as much but that was it.

The lawman as a rookie...walking in the station with his instructor asks "why are they dipping their bullets in dog poop? .......So if the bullets dont kill the perp...the infection will" I almost died.
Loved the old line: "Why are rookie cops like bananas? They're born green, they live yellow and they die rotten!"
A classic I never knew existed. I came to DC in August 1985, and discovered Grease within a short time. He really did change the way Washington talks.
Once I started to listen to greaseman I could not listen to no other radio station in the mornings

Used to listen to him everyday on my drive to work in the D.C. area. He had a great show - lots of fond memories of his hilarious bits.
i was lucky enough to be able to have this man wake me up daily , i moved away in 87 came back home and year later did some work with this guy and i can tell you he was a blast to hang out with

I listened to the Grease man in 78 through about 81 on WAPE the big ape out of Jacksonville fla while I was riding to school in Saint Mary’s GA with my older sister

I was listening from Annapolis when Greaseman first moved from Florida to DC. He was still there when I left the Navy, and moved away. Years later I visited LA. I was searching for a station to listen to, and mind blown, there was that familiar voice! Sure enough, it was Sgt Fury! Gotta love that very sexy voice.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the Greaseman on 95.5 KLOS FM Los Angeles during the short time that he was here. Unfortunately, the West Coast didn't appreciate his exaggerated intellectual humor. Nevertheless, I was able to record a few shows for my own personal enjoyment. Unfortunately, they are on cassette tape, and I no longer have a player.😢

I'm a West Virginian who lived in the D.C. area '85-'91' & The Grease was the best part of it all, except for the great times in USAF. My city gal left D.C. in '93 & I tuned in the Grease whenever I got within DC101's range until...Grease made a comment about race that turned me off, & also turned the heat up & burned his doodads off on 101.Called him two times around '90-'91 when he made negative comments about WV. Still the Grease is the man who gets the most gut wrenching laughs out of me. Is he still on the air, and where? I need a grease fix.
jeff Craven Grease retired from broadcasting about 2005 or so; I used to be part of a Yahoo Greaseman Group but that fell apart a few years ago. I miss him too!

I don't know if it's my browser (Pale Moon, a Firefox clone) or my internet connection or what, but I was never able to tune him in on WRC. I just have to content myself with listening to all the great CDs that Grease cranked out. Sigh...

I remember seeing him on Larry King along with Scott Shannon of Z-100. Grease brought his personality with him. Shannon barely said two words.

I've always thought that was what got the Greaseman in trouble was his routine was getting predictable and Sterns antics were somewhat refreshing and the Grease was trying to match that but went too far.
Just hearing grease again makes me want a bone dry!!!

I was listening that day . . . that moment . . . when he "commented" on the new "Martin Luther King Holiday". It was just a joke and incredibly funny if you could use your detached sense of humor. Unfortunately, SOOOOO many others didn't find it very funny.

When I first heard the Greaseman in Washington D.C. I thought it was pirate radio. The first bit I heard him do was the Clint Eastwood, well punk, did I make you squeal 5 times or was it 6? I thought no way would the FCC allow this.

Does anyone remember a radio show in the DC area in the 80's - it wasn't Greaseman or Stern - it was two jocks and they had a pick the ugly bride contest. Listeners would phone in and call out the ugliest bride from the society pages and the winner would receive a free bucket of KFC. Does anyone remember anything else about that show?

I worked at a Sam Goody in 1980-81. People would come in asking for "the song about the yellow taxi."
That poor bastard, that comedian chick must’ve felt like shit. He barley covered it up at all that he was a bit annoyed. Even as a good looking disc jockey it’s still a pain in the ass to go out and find these girls when he just could’ve picked her and they were going out tonight.
The fact of the matter is he will not be going out with the Penthouse Pet that night, which sucks.
As long as you’re decent looking if you can keep these girls laughing you can get a girl that’s literally a 10. They get to a certain point in hotness where they just don’t even expect you to be as good looking as them (In the male counterpart sort of way) the less good looking you are the more attention for their looks which they are perfectly fine with. You just have to have something about you that turns them on. Good looking, money or very entertaining/funny. Preferably a combination but not necessarily.

The 80s were a transitional period. That 70s into the 80s were the time that America’s “innocence” of any sort was lost. At least in major cities.

I’m too damn nice, I should’ve just driven away and told her she was a lying bitch. I couldn’t say anything nasty once she had gotten in my car because then she could say I tried to rape her or assault or whatever. Then I had to be nice. I told her that I wanted to drive someplace nearby to talk before I dropped her off, when I thought about it it was actually a creepy movie not the smoothest, but her street was too busy to park on. I had to set up to make out with her to see what was up just in case. She wasn’t that disgusting I figured maybe I could go up in fuck her, with 50 mg of Viagra I would’ve been able to do it. The best Trump quoteis “if you need Viagra you’re with the wrong woman,”it really is true to an extent, but I get nervous that I won’t be hard anymore and once that gets in your head you know you’re done. Ever since I’m literally 23 years old, the year Viagra came out, I always take it on a first date. Your rock hard and then you can go again 20 minutes after you come. It’s just so important that that first performance is terrific.Viagra I agree gives you the confidence it’s a great back up.
