bro i just had the random memory come to me from my childhood and i would remember playing this game on my gameboy for hours kinda surprised i still remembered
Purple here, my friend had that one. Really wish they'd just rerelase new Gameboys. It says something that there's Gameboys still running fine while my switch has needed 3 repairs despite minimal use. Or how my PSP is just fine despite over a decade of abuse.
@@CoffeePotato switch has drifting problems for me with the controller and disconnecting ones with another game pad. Brings down the experience. I also can't believe they bring 20 year old Xbox stuff like kotor back to it which is just unbelievable as been there done that. Often get that feeling with switch.
@@hoganavajo Yeah...the switch is a consolized gaming laptop...which is good, but it definitely doesn't follow their formula. I mean I use the original 3ds over that even if going somewhere, just because it's actually convenient to stow and go. PSP is insane for that, but the original 3ds is already handling the handheld thing well. I wish they'd revisit the Gameboy mentality again. Seems like Retroid is kind of doing that right now, I can't wait to try that thing.
I havent thought of spy vs spy for over 20 years, completly forgot. Dont remember this one though, I think it was a ps1 game that I played. Anyways thanks for nostalgia trip.
I'm trying this for the first time on my rg35xxsp. I really love it. I think one of the challenging things this game had to go against is the fact that since the gameboy color screen is so small, splitting the game screen in 2 reduces the sprite sizes so small that it's hard to tell what the items are. I think this would have been a perfect remake on something like the Nintendo DS to make use of its 2 wide screens.
Really cool! I remember the comics but didn't knew about the game! I never played this one, but there's a Tom and Jerry game on the PS1 that used the same idea, and it's really fun!
@@CoffeePotato The original release was 1984 on the Commodore 64, and it was ported to most other early home computers. This GBC version is based on the NES/FC port by Kemco, which is where I knew it from too. There's a couple of sequels (new levels but same game) also.
0:54 Ben and Jerry’s is an ice cream brand the thing you’re thinking of is Tom and Jerry
Yeah. I was so confused when he brought that up haha
This is a true classic. I can go back even further; I used to play the original version of this on my commodore 128. Good times. 🎉

MY FLIPPING HEART!!! 🥰😆😂🤣 when I was a kid this was the game that you would find stuck in my game boy color!
I can't even tell you how many hours I put into this. Always forgot to bring a notepad, so getting the final area was a very precise process
This was my first gbc game still remember buying it with the gbc turquoise colour.

I rate this game a 4/5. A really good pick up and play game which the gbc excelled at.

Man, this thing had a ton of versions I never knew about! Seems everyone played it on something else.

It would have been, and thankfully there's enough space to still tell what's going on courtesy of the space in each room.
I love it! This is my Childhood 😍😍😍❤️❤️
Then it was a good one!
This is the definitive version of Spy Vs. Spy and no one talks about it :(

Yeah, it's surprisingly good for something that sounds like it should be shovel ware.
Wow crazy just remembered playing this as a kid on commadore 64 or something lol
Yeah, it's wild how many different versions this apparently had.
I had it on the 48k ZX Spectrum in 1985 and it played well even with the limited graphics capabilities of that system.
Insane nostalgia
I last played this on the Atarti 800XL. If the gamneplay is the same, I'll loved it :)
Probably!
Looks fun you got a new sub
Well thank ya!
I had a nes version at some point
That's a thing?!

@@mahafune Nice! I always knew the GB was a NES machine, but always thought this was a random one off, that's really cool to know!
Sega Master System was my 1st experience with this game, picked it up on GBA because of that. Great game!
