USA doctors earn way more than Norwegian doctors then. On average, in the USA an IM resident earns 80,000 USD in NY and that is almost 720,000 NOK. Also, the tax rate in the USA is way less than in Norway. And this is just resident salary, once the residency is done average pay is a lot more.
