Slim died from the OD, and Marshall grew up, matured, and survived. It's such a deep message for his fans.

Hailey was married on 05/20/2024. I hear myself and my apologies to my kids from my using drugs and alcohol. There would have been so much I would have missed being dead due to my addictions.
Now, 26 years clean on 06/15/2024.

I just sick of my own shit and realized that after seeing so many of my friends die and seeing the after effects that it had and still has on our families... The funerals. When my best friend passed his mom was SCREAMING, "That's my baby! Don't take my baby;" and we had to hold her back. We all just collapsed and cried.... I cant let my family go through that if I can prevent it. You've got this. ❤️

As a recovering addict , I put my kids through this. It hits harder than you can imagine. I just hit 2 years clean and still rebuilding my life and my relationships. My daughter finally came and seen me after a year on Friday. Was so amazing to see her

Though one of my best friends died from an overdose just shortly after we graduated from high school. His name is Robert "Bob" Huber. It's been 35 years!
once you become a cucumber, you can't ever be a pickle again. addicts are addicts for life, whether they're using or not. they can't even come close to the thing they're addicted to or they risk relapsing.
Definitely one of Eminems best albums in my opinion. Im obsessed with the rhyming, flows and flawless delivery. Lets hope he does a side B👍

This past February I reached 10 years sober from narcotics. I went and found the officer that arrested me those years ago & thanked him for simply doing his job. If it wasn't for him, I guarantee I would be part of the statistics & my kids would be without their dad. I am thankful everyday I have 1 more day to see my children grow up & become amazing adults. I thank God I was able to get away from the drugs, but if I can do it anyone can. To those struggling, believe me you are NOT alone & there are people that believe in you!

Always. He's the best at catching everything. There are some other good reaction channels, such as No Life Shaq or Crypt but Knox is top notch. Kudos Knox. (Side note, he makes some great music, as well.)

This album has meant so much to me. My brother loved Eminem and he passed away from drug addiction to prescription pills in 2015. I miss him dearly. I've cried through the end of this album. Sometimes the depression from loss is so heavy, that I wonder why I'm here. I don't have an addiction. Just grief. But this album lets me know I'm not alone. Thanks for your breakdown. RIP Shady. Fuck addiction. Fuck depression. And thank you Marshall.

I lost my wife to alcohol addiction. It was toxicity that took her, knowing now, it was her past that she was trying to forget and drown. Some mountains are too hard to climb for people, no matter how hard you try to help them. May God comfort them, where their spirit returns to our Heavenly Father.

This song hit me especially hard. Grew up watching both my parents being addicts eventually lost my dad to that fight when i was 7 mother still alive but literally chose her high over her kids. This song was all i ever wanted to hear her say growing up. Own up to her mistakes and admit that she needs help.

The recording at the beginning almost scared me: it's such a deep level of vulnerability.
Love the effect on Jelly Roll's vocals in the end. It's as if Eminem is in the grave and he's singing above him and there's this layer of earth between them that changes the sound or maybe how it would sound from inside the casket. Just like when someone's playing music loud inside of a closed car. It's details like this that show the artistry and thought that's put into it.
What you said at the end about not burdening those around you and about doing more damage of the world being gone really spoke to me. I know my problems are nothing compared to some people but I’ve been going through a lot in recent weeks and hearing that really meant the world to me. I just want to say thank you.

It feels like since Revival didn’t get the love Em wanted, Castle/Arose got repackaged into Temporary/Somebody Save Me. He knows people will listen this time around
Don't worry man. I was also in tears the 1st time because of that 1st verse. I'm a father of a 12 year old daughter and I struggled with addiction for the first 8 years of her life so i completely relate to that verse
For the thing about his drugs, this is an alternate reality where he couldn't get clean.
It’s been an awesome journey with you Knox. You’re like that friend I wish I had to talk about music. It doesn’t matter what the genre is, I’m a music nerd, and it’s refreshing to find someone like you out there. I hope you continue to provide us with these breakdowns, and keep venturing outside of Hip Hop as well. As you have helped me understand Hip Hop Hop better, I’m sure you can help me appreciate other genres of music as well.

Here's a reading I think is very interesting: this song could be about Shady, not Marshall. Hence, "The Death of Slim Shady"
When Em got sober, Shady "died" -- whether he's still here as a 'spirit' or not. Shady didn't get to "live" past ~2008, he didn't get to see the kids grow up, he didn't get to see Hailie's podcast or marriage... but Marshall did. We know he was there for all of that (well, Hailie doesn't have a child yet, but that's besides the point)
That's why it sounds like Arose, but without the optimistic message of "I'll get out of this mess, and be there for all of you. Trust me." Shady doesn't have another shot, he has to go back in the grave and accept defeat. "He's a lost cause" as Jelly Roll's outro goes.
It can also be read as if Eminem did physically die in '07, but I think this is a fun and fitting version.
This is what I was feeling too. Like this is from Slim’s perspective being dead.

This DEFINITELY picks up where his falling in the bathroom from his methadone overdose in 2007. This is a very hard hitting song. One of my friends from high school died from an overdose shortly after graduating. That was 35 years ago. His name is Robert "Rob" Huber. R.I.P. Bob. And all those who have died from an overdose.
And, Hailie just got married a couple of months ago. And, he walked her down the aisle and had the first dance with her.
The reverse theory is fact and we will see it happen soon when Em releases Shady for the last time. My thoughts are it will be an all Shady album. I think on December 10th. If you paid attention to the 855 phone number, now inactive, the 313 was for Detroit and the 5746 I believe is coded as if you add 5 and 7 you get 12 and 4 and 6 is obviously 10. Plus it's a Tuesday which is another album release day during the week. Unless he goes with Friday, December 13th instead. Plus, the 1st overseas concert in Bahrain is on 12-10-24. There is that 12-10 again. But, I could be HELLA reaching on my theory. So........

6:35 you have all my sympathy and empathy. I lost a very close friend to a methadone OD. He’d been clean for a year after struggling for over a decade and he really effed up his ankle (he’d gotten really into boxing and MMA and was setting up his own gym.) well, he couldn’t really manage the pain and took to the streets for help and…well, he just fell asleep and never woke up =/ A lot of my high school fiends and acquaintances came very close to death and a few o those acquaintances did pass …we had a major H and prescription opioid issue at my high school (ah, the late 90s-00s in South Jersey.)

Stevie is not transgender, she was a bridesmaid at her sisters wedding. She also has a long term boyfriend she lives with. On Hailie's podcast interview with Stevie said she is bisexual and also non binary. She uses all the pronouns.
Trans is an umbrella term. Non binary just means don't feel compelled to identify as male or female. Neither of these labels suggest a sexual orientation.

Ex: Chaz Bono went through hormones and surgery for a permanent and legal change. Caitlyn Jenner did the same. though she has said she is not doing the bottom surgery but is legally Caitlyn Jenner. Elliot Page was another, was actress Ellen Page had breast removal and hormones not sure of bottom surgery though. Is legally Elliot Page. Actress Laverne Cox had top and bottom surgeries and hormones. Laverne actually has an identical twin brother M Lamar Cox.

@@yeshevishman that’s what it was 20 years ago. He has changed, I 100% believe that Eminem doesn’t have negative views towards all the groups he raps about on this album. I really don’t think he sits around thinking about Caitlyn Jenner or cares about her being trans nor does he sit wishing he could kick a midget. He’s purposely thinking of offensive shit to get a rise out of people. 20 years ago he had legitimate reasons to feel angry and the things he got attacked for had way more serious accusations like his music influencing school shootings, so he would lean into it but it always had a deeper message “middle America, now it’s a tragedy to see an upper class city having this happen, then attack Eminem cause I rap this way.” He had a deeper point with all of his takes unless it was pure satire, and today in 2024 i believe this whole album was satirical. Satire is hard to do nowadays though because people are stupid and will take things literal, when he says “let’s take it back to 2003 and hit the reset button, how did we get stuck in this woke bs…” I know people are gonna hear that and be in full support and say that people today are too woke and sensitive but I believe Eminem doesn’t mean what he’s saying, I believe he’s probably a caring person who is just being tongue and cheek and is okay with how things are changing to include more people, he just likes to stir the pot like he always has and give the fans a nostalgic album. Guilty concience 2, temporary, and somebody save me are all songs that tell you exactly why he’s retiring the Shady persona, it represents dark times and all the faults in his life and he is more mature and way past that type of thinking. If I’m wrong about this all being satire than the album is super cringe. The concept only works if he is self aware of how ridiculous his “offensive” bars are.
