    What would be a Xeno Topic you'd like me to discuss in this type of video format?

      A character tier list would be funny as hell and be good content maybe?

      I think a video going over things that are in every Xeno game would be cool. For example every game has a character with either a person/personality inside of them. Fei/id, kosmos/mary, shulk/zanza, pyra/mythra, all of the games has a version like this. Would be cool to see more details like this that exist in them all.

    For anyone who wants to attempt this, I have to recommend one resource that is incredibly useful. There exists a Xenoblade 1 DE 100% checklist people have made and can find on a few Reddit posts. It’s a checklist, so you check things off as you do them. It covers absolutely everything, even stuff like locations and landmarks as well as weapon/armor appearances. It also has a bunch of useful information including where to find certain collectibles/art books, expiration points for every relevant quest, NPCs you can trade quest items from, locations and spawn requirements for every Unique Monsters and so on. The only thing it doesn’t cover is Time Attack Ranks and the full affinity chart, which you’ll have to use other resources for. Best of all is that there’s a spoiler and no spoiler version if you want to do it on your first playthrough. And there’s even one for Future Connected as well.
    And just the best piece of advice I can give is to chip away at things over the playthrough instead of all at one point. Reset for advanced art book drops on every Unique monster’s gold chest as you kill them instead of dedicating six hours to get them all at the end of the game. Start chipping away at obnoxious achievements during the playthrough, like doing the trick to advance days fast for Happy New Year when questing. Don’t leave every expiring quest for right before the major cut-off point. And know when to cut out RNG like using the Time Attack shop not only for Colony 6 but also for some of the collectipedia, or using trades for quest items instead of relying on drops.

  • @Bogan360dude
    @Bogan360dude 2 года назад +19

    Xenoblade DE is an all time great and I agree with you that exploration is one of the best aspects of the game. I had so much fun discovering things around the world.
    The game taking place on a titan's body makes the world so much more interesting to think about when you contextualize it in that way as you explore. Looking around and seeing past/future landmarks on lower or higher parts of the body gives Xenoblade such an epic & grand sense of scale. For example I adore how you can see Colony 9 from around the Colony 6 area by looking down. Another cool moment is jumping off the Mechon base at the end of Sword Valley because you load into the Fallen Arm area instead of dying.
    I love Xenoblade so much it has upped the bar for JRPGs. MonolithSoft are a master class in crafting worlds and that's only one aspect of the game that makes it so good.

  • @luke3810
    @luke3810 2 года назад +27

    I completed this game to 100% completion as well and I really enjoyed it for the most part. I think it's quite tragic how so many good side quests are buried underneath countless fetch quests or how heart to hearts were locked behind high affinity between party members. There's some really great stuff but not everyone is going to see them because of how much you need to go through to find it.
    You're spot on about the exploration. I was amazed at how many secrets the world has! I really enjoyed the lore behind the giants, especially since you don't learn much about them through the main game. I thought it was so cool how you could find King Agni's tomb in the main game and then his birthplace in FC!
    I think the thing I hated the most was the missable content and 3 specific achievements (Happy New Year, Roots Around The World, and Complete 180). Sometimes I wonder what the devs were thinking with some of these achievements 😂

    • @EnigmaBarry
      @EnigmaBarry 2 года назад +7

      Don't forget "____ The Betrayer". A sidequest that needs to be seen to be believed. It's a missable side quest and the finale to a chain of quests that spanned the whole game. It ends with a Unique Monster boss fight and uses "A Tragic Decision", a track otherwise reserved for sad or hopeless boss fights.

    I did a like ~95% run when I first played it and it was definitely an experience. I did all quests for except I think ~13, since they expired before I realized they had gone/decided to be completionist. I did get every achievement though, so whichever aspects are needed for that I did. I wasn't able to beat all of the superbosses however, I could only take down Final Marcus and Despotic Arsene.
    I had a lot of the same struggles. Keeping track of the affinity chart for quest unlocks as well as the branching paths was definitely tough and I definitely referenced the wiki or a guide many times. The hardest part was definitely some of the record achievements. Use a chain attack 1000 times, achieve burst affinity 2000 times, and defeat an enemy 10 levels higher than the party leader were probably the worst for me.

      Getting all costumes is not really that hard, maybe except the new ones they added (I'm looking at you beach costume for Shulk) as most of them you can buy, the weapons are another story, there are some missable weapons, ones that you only get from enemies that can be missable, and one specific for Melia where you have to talk to Kallian at a specific time, but they are like, 3 or 4 if memory serves.
      Edit: I gess there can be more missable weapons if you don't buy them at specific places? I'm not sure as I have the habit to buy equipment every chance I get...

    I get that it helps the world feel more realistic, but they really should have made quest NPC, available at all times! I often found myself doing a main questline, drop everything when i reached a new area, go back to every area i had already been too, go through a 24 hour period in 3 hour increments in all of them to see if a questgiving NPC spawned, and then do that for every area in the game to make sure i didn't miss a quest, simply because i didn't visit the right place at the right time of day...

It's not that I find any of it boring, it's moreso that, knowing I have an ultimate goal ahead of me gives me the drive to invest in all the minor systems while I'm really excited about being a part of this cool new world. Once that goal is achieved, going back to just doing sidequests feels so mundane in the face of what I just witnessed, and it feels anticlimactic in that sense. It loses all meaning since I'm not gonna do anything with all these new skills or weapons I'm earning, even if there's still a superboss I haven't downed yet (which is why I always do so before beating a game).
    In that sense I'm impressed you were able to do this and also jealous, because yeah, there are just too many other games I want to play so I'll never have the patience to put that much effort into only one game lol.

    Valak Mountain is probably my least favorite area. It's exhausting to fill out and find everything. My favorite area would probably be Fallen Arm because it's one of the areas that actually show you the scale of the world. It takes a solid minute to get to the Distant Fingertip and the fact that the village fits inside the center of the palm

    yes there a loot on these game but to be honest is like a poppy compared to the monster that is X i put more than 300 on that thing and it still had stuff to do. it leave me completely dry the main story and sub ones still have a loot of cliffhangers on them, the 2 main ones are what are the samarians and what is up with planet mira that still need resolving but no they decided to continue 2 very conclusive games like 1 and 2 that didn't need a sequel but they did instead of making X2

    I tried to 100% this game. In fact I’m still doing it now. It sucks because I literally missed 1 single timed quest in Alcamoth where you have to complete it before another one so technically it’ll only be a 99.9% run lol

    I'm so close to get 100% in Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition. I have lvl 99 characters in the main story and extra story and I upgraded all Arts in the main story and extra story. I need 1 achievement (Complete 180), 3 appearances and 10 Art Coins to finish the game completely. After that, I'll take break, play other video games and then I'll start Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I hope it doesn't take too long to finish it.

    Spoiler question:
    .
    .
    .
    .
    I've always wondered if there is an easter egg in NG+ if you carry over all the items to rebuild Colony 6 to level 5 before Otharon joins the Bionis coalition. He tells you to keep going but then isn't there when you finish restoring the colony. Anyone know if there is a special scene or would I be wasting my time if I tried?

    400 odd quests isnt too too bad. skyrim had something around 400 quests. granted that is a lot. i dont think that amount of quests should throw anyone off from completing a game they really like. that is still a lot but shouldnt intimidate anyone lol. most RPGs these days have easily over 200 quests. i think ff12 has something like 300 quests. and that game is about a decade old. not that unheard of.
    Out of all the games i have played. the worst questing experience i have had was, Star ocean: Till the end of time. great game love it and its quests. just a pain getting missable things.

    Yeah man, 100%ing games that don't have a listed completion % counter is definitely a subjective thing. Like I want to 100% Xenoblade 3 on my first run, and for me that means all quests of course, all ascension quests, exploring all the areas including every island of Erythia Sea [gonna be fun going back there before the final area to do some Wind Waker shit] and trying to see every conversation topic. I'd also like to max out all classes with all characters before the ending but if not, I don't mind doing that with either the post game stuff I've heard about or just not bothering. As far as I've seen so far, there's nothing at all that's missable, or at least easily missable, in Xenoblade 3. Like, Ethel early on leaves to visit Keves Castle and you can't get her back in your party for sidequests or to unlock her class for the rest of your party members for a FAT FUCKIN WHILE, but you still can later on.

    respect to you
    i personally am not a 100% person. i play a game till i finsh the story, and then i look what i want now.
    in xenoblade X it was getting some cool mech builds and have fun with them, getting all affinty missions done and some of the "longer" sidequest for example, i did that, iirc my mira completion is at roughly 70% ish
    XC2 i did a bit less, only doing the blade quests i was interested in and doing very few unique monsters in general(the driver under the clifs of moritha iirc was the last i did)
    XC1.... i basically finished the game and stopped there, i never did Colony 6 or anything like that.
    mostly because while i LOVE XC1 as a story driver... its not a good game gameplay wise if you played XCX(and ot a far lesser extend XC2(yes ia m the weird one who REALLY dosnt liked the XC2 combat(stutter walk is an atrocity and i hate that it looks like its back in 3) and wanted the art pallete back for XC3 but oh well))
    i was interested in the major story, and when that played out i personally just didnt saw a point in continuing to play XC1

    To me, you haven't 100% this game until you've killed Rotbart with a level 50 party. Yes, it's possible, and there's 2 main strats: naked dunban and the (nearly) unkillable Reyn-Sharla-Melia party, where you control Melia and give Sharla nothing but healing and Reyn nothing but aggro and tanking auras. You gotta spec for it in advance, and takes a lot of specific prep, but yeah... you can do it. Strap in for a 30 minute fight though, and bring them sleep arts and DoTs. New game + helps a lot too. (Demon Slayer doesn't work cuz Rotbart has a topple spike, I think).

    I like this game but it’s the text definition of busy work. On my second run on the switch I dropped it to easy and skipped 60% of the quests, compared to my standard run on the old wii and it’s was waay more fun. Too much pointless nonsense in the quests

      Ngl I love pointless nonsense but prefer uh... pointful nonsense??? Quests with substance will always be worthwhile to me like the quest relating to Xord in xc1 or Don Dondon in xc2, I hope xc3 had more interesting ones with it's really intriguing Xenogears-like setting
