An absolutely fantastic villain. He didn't have as much awesome content in the Ahsoka show as I had hoped for but I'm very excited for the future. With the books,rebels and his overall appearances, he remains one of my all time favorite villains. Absolute blast editing him. Hope you enjoy the video.

Been getting a lot of comments here about the shots of the First Order in the end of the video. I understand that you guys don't love those movies, I don't either but Thrawn bringing back the Empire is what will ultimately become the First Order, whether we like it or not. Thrawn's existence is a testament to what can change. He was not part of Disney's plan for the galaxy. Hopefully one day, those films become non-canon, just as Thrawn became canon.
Incorrect. The First Order was created in exile away from the Imperial Remnant we see reforming under Thrawn, they were the hardcore extremists that fled to the Unknown Region to build in secret.
People hate what Star Wars movie ? We should be lucky they even started making more. The real OG’s waited sense 1980 and 1997. Be happy or read a book tell me what you see.
Thrawn has nothing to do with The First Order.
Thrawn represents what all other admirals failed to be in the Empire. A leader who inspires devotion among those under his command.
So much so that Palpatine was worried when he realized that Thrawn's crew were loyal to Thrawn over the Empire.

In rebels, even at Atloll, he decimated more than half the fleet. At Lothal, it was Ezra being unpredictable that made Thrawn lose. In 'Ashoka,' it shows that he has learned from it.

Unlike most of the Empire's ranks, Thrawn actually takes the time to understand his enemy. He respects them even if he's going to destroy them later on. He commands respect not by demanding it, but by getting results.
The Empire is fractured. There's been a massive power vacuum since the deaths of Vader and Sidious. The Empire hasn't been truly unified since the Battle of Endor, but Thrawn might just pull it off. Because this is a man who doesn't do anything without a purpose.
Even in the EU, Thrawn's Empire of the Hand never fell to either the Yuuzhan Vong or New Republic. I don't remember exactly what happened, but I think the Chiss Ascendancy absorbed some of it and those territories. Shows how effective Thrawn was as both leadership and creating a stable naval presence even after his death.
It took 155 years to defeat the Thrawn Empire, lol.
I swear sequels should've been about Thrawn's new empire
I had yet to find a good tribute to Thrawn since his arrival in Rebels, I've been waiting for years for a video like this. I'm very glad to see it is finally here, SWFT gotta do a Thrawn video now too! Among some of my other favorite Star Wars video editors.
2 greatest disasters:
1 him being cut of when disney destroyed the expended universe.
2 the sequels.
My theory is that Thrawn will be the one to formally organize the First Order, especially due to his knowledge of the Unknown Regions, before his demise.
For the Acendancy for the Empire, for the safety of the Galaxy.

The only Imperial worth respecting! Had he been ruling the Empire from the start, there would have been no need for a Rebellion as he would have inspired the Galaxy to truly unite. Love your work as usual, but why didn't you add the Troopers chanting Thrawn's name?
While I agree Thrawn is one of the few competent and likebale imperial, I’m going to need you to not leave out colonel yularen, admiral coburn, captain palleon, and commander Eli vanto. Those 4 are some of my favorite imperials in the empire.

@@jbgaming3221Thankfully Pellaeon showed up in Mandalorian, so we know he will appear in the future. I'm still holding out hope that we see Eli Vanto return from the Unknown Regions to help Thrawn, given that he's Thrawn's closest friend.
Thrawn quickly grew to become one of my favorite villains, his portrayal from Lars Mikkelsen is magnificent and he is genuinely intriguing and terrifying. Great video as always!

Ahsoka did a villain better in 3 episodes than Disney did with 3 movies.

Currently reading Outbound Flight so I have to say great edit, really encapsulated Grand Admiral Thrawn.
I like characters like Thrawn, Grand Moff Tarkin,Hans Landa, Willi Herold etc...in movies, we need more characters like them in the film industry.

@@user-iq5hi5ls9b I'd take a Star Wars: Ascendancy series set anytime in Thrawn's life. The only downside is trying to find someone who could play a younger Thrawn because Lars is so perfect in the role. So it should be set when Thrawn is older. I'd love it if Zahn changes Thrawn's ending, fakes his death to escaoe the First Order, then has him return to the Ascendancy now that he's completed his mission to save his people. Then Zahn writes more books about what happens to Thrawn back home.
They could expand his story into a trilogy.

Thrawn has to be my favorite Star Wars villain aside from Wilhuff Tarkin as a non-force sensetive antagonist. Thrawn is more of an anti-hero in my opinion. He's morally grey: He respects other cultures, offers guidance in the form of wisedom, encourages a more open-minded aproach to solving problems, dose not take a Life unless he sees no other way and tries to a avoid avoid civillian casualties where possibile. He only did so on Lothal because the Emperor had become suspicious of his true loyalties and threatened to execute him for treasonous disloyalty.

Thrawn will leave a big scar in the New Republic and the first order will take advantage of it and wipe them out. That's what the final part demonstrates.

if I understand correctly episode 9 takes place way into the future past thrawns return. thrawns return is 5 aby and episodes 9 is 19 aby or something like that.
To defeat the Empire, the rebels didn't have to kill the Emperor, but his best warrior, Thrawn. The only reason the Empire was defeated, is because Ezra took the Empire's greatest warrior far away from the galaxy. If Grand Admiral Thrawn returned, he could start another war with the New Republic. Imagine Thrawn coming back and meeting with the Emperor on Exegol. He would definitely be made into commander of the entire navy, waging war to the already weak New Republic. If the New Republic were strong, he would start a second galactic war, as big as the Clone Wars were, but without clones and droids.

Ezra Bridger did not stop him during the Rebel Alliance on Lothal, the entire Alliance would have fallen because of this man. Empire losing him made the victory of the Rebel Alliance success.
Would’ve been a great edit if not for the last few seconds with the first order. I highly doubt there’s any connection between what thrawn is doing and the first order except the shadow council

Honestly I know it might sound silly and I dunno if the timeline would match up but I would find it cool (and it would improve the sequels just a bit) if the New Republic disregard the first order due to them focusing on Thrawn and his campaign against them. Any thoughts?
He should win to demonstrate the idea that cunning, intelligence and execution result in victory in the real world; not just "being the good guy"

It was going great till yeah, I see on your comment there I'm not the first one to bring this up. I have to disagree though. Thrawn will not necessarily result in the First Order. Given what we have seen of the meetings in the Mandolorian the cabal working on that while part of the warlords is itself a separate faction within them. At worst I think he will be part of why the New Republic has become so passive, and likely why they no longer keep their government upon Coruscant. Though if we just erased those films to continue with this story line I think the franchise would be better for it.
I clapped when his Star Destroyer shot at Ahsoka and missed every single shot. What a menacing villain 🤡 🤡 🤡
