It works like the Free series. All of those tools are accessible one handed. There are little lips near the end of the tool. Once you put pressure there the tools pop out. The more you know....
To the top with this comment! I have two free models, I think they're the k3 and k4. Took me a while to figure out how to get them out right.
Bingo. Am I the only one screaming at my screen while MC was trying to figure it out?! lol Like said, run it all one handed and roll the tools out with your thumb from close to the pivot. At 6:28 I thought he had it. Can't say I've seen him review a Free series tool.
As we used to say, back in the good old days: "RTFM!"
Maybe it's only common in Silicon Valley, California... 😏
spot on. I too was struggling until I realized I could just thumb them open
Watching you struggle getting the tools out while knowing you figured it out in a livestream a few weeks ago was quite entertaining 😂😂😂.
It took me a few minutes as well, to be honest…😂
I shamelessly use my arc as a fidget toy. The sheath is a bit kit, for all my regular use impact ready bits, and a few regular quarter inch extensions. Liked the review brother.
Got the Arc about a week ago.. hasn’t left my belt since, things awesome 👏.. checks all the boxes ✅
Aside from it my regular edc is a custom bugout Ti / M390 .. Lynch NW prybar , Ti Fenix pen 🖊️, Olight M2R warrior pro … then wallet / smokes 🚬 😅/ 📱/ lighter .. and a few random things
I don’t know why 🤷♂️.. I just felt like sharing a pocket dump / EDC rotation… it would be cool to hear from others too , if you feel like sharing :)
I had mine already when I watched this, its a great tool. Can't wait for you to figure out how to get the screwdriver out without a struggle. the snap when opening the plyers is just great!
Mine arrives tomorrow! Can't wait!
MC discovered how to access the driver and can opener on the livestream
Right onto the Christmas list! Thanks MC!
I seen a few vids on this tool and the wire cutters break cutting a coat hanger which is very soft metal.
Must be a bad batch thing. Mine eat through coat hangers, no problem.
@@repairmanlevi9656 Dunno about that bro; just saw 3 other comments in here basically saying the same thing and that they will eventually need to do a full blown recall to solve the issue with the wire cutters at mass scale. I have noticed a lot of brands from Gerber to SOG have some models with less than optimal hardened steel for their wire cutter feature but I'm kind of shocked at how many comments I've seen about this Leatherman having the same issue with even soft metals like coat hangers. My p2 cutter works flawlessly so hopefully they can address it on the Arc in coming batches.
I'm watching this at .5 speed and I'm literally in tears from laughing so hard
leatherman: announces arc
**million years pass**
Metal complex: *A Leatherman With A MAGNACUT Blade!?*
Look at the groove on the tange of the tools by their pivots, roll your thumb over it like a front flipper.
Don't cut a coat hanger 😂
It should be able to if it cant thats a huge issue
@@soulnation4207saw someone try it and cracked the cutter blades
@@soulnation4207 It's a well known issue due to a bad design flaw in the cutters. A gap produces pressure in a weak spot on them causing them to chip. It's a really bad QC mistake. It's the only Leatherman with the issue and it's the highest model lol.
So far haven’t needed to cut any hangers!
That was incredibly difficult to watch you struggle with those middle tools lol
Pretty Awesome
you push on the base of the tool (at the top by the pivot) to pop the tools up
Lucky you having the ARC. I'm thinking about getting it myself, only thing is I often use my MT's for carving. Anyway I was wondering if you would you be kind enough to test it on, say, just a piece of green wood, maybe an inch thick or so, up against the Wave?
Please
BRO !!! THIS MADE MY DAY!! AWESOME M.C.
The little curved things at the top of the center tools can be used to flip the center tools out with 1 finger/hand, im sure you figured it out by now
I tightened my handle pivots very slightly because they had some play and I threw some 5 or 10 weight nano oil in the tools and some heavy oil in the pilier and handle pivots. Its not perfect because I think the bit driver tool and bit set in particular needs a "bit" of work in a few areas 😂😅 but overall its still a good multi tool. (I think it should have a better heat treat on the bits, less play on the bits inside the bit driver and personally I was also disappointed the bit set they provide didnt include any bits that could be used to actually disassemble a pocket knife, at least none that I own.
Now I understand why there are instructions in the box 😳
Wow they didn't grind a recurve into it, guess they pay attention when grinding the more expensive steels.
My Arc comes in tomorrow. Got me one for my birthday to myself haha.
You should review some more edc related items too !
Whoa. 😲
Use the indentions on the side near the top to get the tools out. Watch a video n youll see
To open up the tools is same way as the Free series
lucky, I'm pondering buying another leatherman after years of hiatus
Lol, I cant wait for the full review where MC knows how to get the middle tools out.
The arc looks like the upgraded version of the p2 or p4 which were advertised as the one hand operated Leatherman.
Its really not much of an upgrade for an extra $100. Especially considering the defectively designed wire cutters that are breaking and will eventually need a recall
@disco4535 right, I don't see any reason other than having the bit driver to get one of these since I already have a P4.
@@disco4535it's a magna cut blade. A pocket knife by itself with magna cut goes for at least the same price if not more and this has many more functions
Is this magnetic like the free?
Thanks
Only problem is the wire cutters shatter on soft metal lol. Must have messed up the annealing process
Well not s review but a first impression,I'd like to see you use the tool more,oh also, the bit driver an smaller implement tools you only need your thumb to press down an tools will come up for you to decide which to choose from,I've been trying mine out past few days to familiar myself with my tool like I've done with the surge, man this Arc won't replace the surge but definitely is lighter,I'll keep both,Arc on my side an surge in my bag, surge for heavy duty stuff, but my Arc is holding its own,an next level edc said Leatherman is working on the cutter's issues they had with the Arc,bad heat treatment issues,so they sent him older strong cutters,no issues, even still I love my tool, love the magna cut blade, wished they'd make same style surge blade in magna cut as an option,I'd be in hog heaven so no matter which tool I went for, both would have s great cutting main blade,I've taken my surge on several camp trips sn no issues,I've owned the surge for almost 4 years now,I love when I'm use with the pliers, handle are so comfortable
Ya I figured this out immediately following the recording. You can see by the date of the upload I've had quite a bit of time with it by now. Like you said, just a first impressions vid. The full review will come down the road a bit.
Very nice
I still think the leatherman eod mut is the most versatile
Just image if MC turned the card over and saw the instructions on how to access the tools.
He's definitely a knife guy. Not quite sure about a multitool guy. Love'em anyway.
The struggle bus was real on this one😂😂
Neato
It’s weird but if you look at the tools you’ll notice a notch. Take your thumb and roll the notch and they should just pop out.
The box has a paper in it that shows you how to open the tools. How did you not know all the tools are supposed to be opened with one hand? It's like the biggest feature besides the magna ut
Watching you struggle opening the middle tools towards an open blade edge was hard.
Jack of all trades, master of none. 🤴
It was painful watching you trying to deploy the screwdriver!!! It was pissing me off! 😂
7.8 on the slap
That will last you and your kin the rest of your lives. Even if it doesn't, the warrantys got you covered.
I really like Leatherman products but imho they dropped the ball with the ARC...
Cutters broke not once but twice with just soft metal coat hangers.
1/2 a bit kit and no T6 or T8 bit
Handles really flex side to side when squeezed tightly
Scissors had issues with paracord
All for a overly price $239 + tax/Shipping.
I hope you have a better experience than I.
yeah lots of reports of that
Glad I read this. Big fan of Leatherman and was about to pull the trigger on Arc. I think I'll wait.
Don’t cut any metal wire with them, cutters break
It's never petfect, but good god it's cool...
As a person that has carried a Free P4 for 4 years it was painful to watch your confusion on deployment 😅. Everything is designed for one handed use both ways.
I luv the MUT... OMG mouth drop & I'm full of want.
I'm avoiding any Magnacut until I get
answers about the scandal going on.
They are shipping out sheets to makers
with major inclusions and warping after
heat treats. Guy is trying to expose them.
Is that happening to other people other than Survive knives? I've been waiting on a 5.1 or whatever it's called from them for over a year. He has made a few videos claiming problems from his steel supplier, but it doesn't sound like he's getting it from Crucible.
@@GLOCKsh00ter24 If not then it's either Inman or Niagara.
@@JohnDoe-zb7dz I think I remember him mention Niagara in a video awhile back.
Yep I got mine from REI 1 months ago
🤦🏻♀️😂😂😂
Lmao it's painful watching you try to pull out the tools 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
First
My God this was painful to watch, even we from "third world" countries know how those tools open?
