At this point, Soyeon is following Hui's footsteps and seem love overworking themselves. He is definitely overworked but he has also countlessly reassured fans this is the path that he chose, that idling makes him feel uneasy, and keeps accepting jobs despite hardly having time to rest (he barely slept for RtK then joined Super Five, a musical, and now a Pentagon comeback all back to back). Thankfully, Soyeon and Hui are very passionate towards writing music and are immensely talented! I think as fans, i appreciate their hard work. The industry is very fast and ruthless. Losing their momentum and the public's attention will hurt their success and legacy. I feel bad she couldn't attend her grandma's funeral.

@@Uroojy Without Blackpink around G-Idle is really the only edgy group out there. Quite a few good songs that don’t sound like every other song out there. In particular Soyeon (spelling?) is who particularly attracts me to the group. I always watch out for them and check out anything they put out.
Soyeon is going to stay at Cube. They’ve given her autonomy. And she understands landscape. But she’s Soyeon so of course she is going to leverage this moment as hard as possible to gain more power and set G-Idle and herself up for life. Hell she might even fight to get her girl back. She has all the power.
I also think that they will stay at Cube. For the same reasons. When that happens I think we will see less group projects and more individual projects. I think that Yuqi will spend more time on China, Minnie will finally get that solo album, Soyeon will do more collaboration and mentoring and possibly branch out into other areas of entertainment such as testing the waters for acting, Miyeon will likely get back into hosting where she really shines, and Shuhua will have a lot of opportunities to explore in Taiwan. I'll miss all of the group activity but I love each of them individually, so following group work plus solo work will still give me my daily requirements of (G)I-dle content.

It seems like cube whether out of incompetence or Soyeon dependence has consistently given Soyeon and the group more autonomy and budget than nearly every other girl group. They seem to cheap out on bullshit amenity stuff but pay big money for videos and tours and what not as well as using their own media to promote, offer series opportunities and develop programs for them. Further Soyeon feels 100 percent able to navigate all things cube and with the leverage she has will get even more of what she wants in contracts. Now I don’t know the actual money splits or anything built content and commercial wise they are heavily branded and supported. And I know none of them complain about being poor.
She is literally so talented and to think that 20-30 companies denied her is CRAZY. I love all the girls but Soyeon carried the group and company on her shoulders for years. She is not perfect and she’s made mistakes, but she’s authentically herself which is more than 99% of idols can say. Literally skill personified and she WORKED for that.

That's the thing a good/great parent, mentor, teacher or coach will tell you the truth to your face even if it hurts. Sure the delivery method could've been better but at the end of the day it was an honest, from the heart critic that the contestants needed to hear. She didn't do it from a place of meanness she was coming from a place of wanting you to do better and if she didn't care she wouldn't have said anything, because she may have seen potential. Sometimes you need to hear that in order to ignite that fire in you to do better and to even prove that person wrong. Personally kwhiners need a dose of that. They need to be reminded that the "critism" they throw is, mainly, coming from jealousy, malaise, and just plain evilness. Kwhiners or just whiners alone are just that whiners and haters. Just found out about gidle recently, i thought it was another kpop group with a big company behind, however, i did a research back at their first single (latata) and let me tell you, the promotion back in that day was shit😂 but i was impressed, how in the hell did they get from latata to the powerhouse they are now? Yea I strongly believe heads of other big companies did not like how fast (G)I-DLE was rising and they were hitting new peaks at the beginning of 2021 with Hwaa. What happened to Soojin and even Soyeon getting accusations that year I believe was an orchestrated effort by people in the industry that wanted to see their downfall. This probably all sounded like tin-foiled conspiracy theories but with all the revelations that were revealed this year with the feud between HYBE, MHJ, SM and Kakao, I think it's no longer just mere speculation. 🤔🤨

What’s more, they will sign a number of other bands and recruit trainees. One of the bombshells that they will drop will be Soojin’s return. In the early days, Soojin was Soyeon’s lieutenant. My guess is that they will produce a behind the scenes reality show or two and possibly a trainee show of some kind. By 2030, they WILL be one of the top five entertainment companies.

Typical KPOP is huge groupwork, everyone want a sh are of money. CUBE takes 80% of their talent's earnings, YG & JYP take 50%, Starship takes the least. CUBE cant get producers to make music, the company wont buy sings from writer for their talent. It forces Idols to buy their own songs, or make their own. It was a forced change for Soyeon and GIDLE.
Companies hold the trademark rights but recently BTOB has reached an agreement with cube for the use of their group name. So this could be an available option.
The important thing is that Soyeon, Minnie, and Yuqi own copyrights to 95% of the groups music. Changing their group name wouldn't really hurt them that much. In fact, it might help them.
