Mono Blue has amazing politics potential. One of my favorite commanders is Octavia because you can pump your opponent's creatures in exchange for them not attacking you.

Deeka, Fractal Theorist is a very slept on mono blue commander in my opinion. There are only 18 decks of hers on EDHREC, and shes quickly becoming my favorite.

Just starting the video; I really really wish I could make Mono-Blue work for me! Hoping I learn something profound from this one.

I run Talrand at the head of a "Nope tribal" deck that floods the baord with 2/2 flying drakes. Counter spells, draw and ramp - easy peasy.

@@half-assedcraftswithbigmik4301 you should try Baral for nope tribal

Just tried my Baral deck today but did a wizard sub theme in it. Only used two counterspells before I decked out to laboratory manic. Ended up doing more with the wizards than wizard baral but he was useful especially after I sparkdoubled him

There's never any love for Venser, Shaper Savant in EDH. He's basically a counterspell in the command zone that stops even spells that can't be countered.

Blue stealing permanents acts as removal as well

  • @narkfly

Stealing permanents is another type of blue removal. Although it's usually pretty mana expensive, it's a 2-for-1 of removing an opponent's threat and presenting it as your own threat.

This is why I like having a few more islands than normal (I sacrifice creatures) so that I can mathematically feel more secure needing more mana. Also having other cards like colorless spells or artifacts to get blue mana etc etc. Love blue (:

I really like the idea of playing orvar... I worry about durdling too much

I have an orvar deck, just focus it around making tokens and buffing them with things like caged sun. It makes the deck way more aggressive, way more fun, and it's extremely unique

as a customer request I would love to see kamigawa, newcapenna, jumpstart, commander legends, theros beyond death top 50 mono blue cards.

I would argue that green has the best card draw that's suited to commander. However, you did touch on how the niche in blue is the card draw is unconditional. If you have mana then you can draw cards and there's an enormous number of efficient options. Blue card draw is also the best suited to a control deck, more so than the other colours, so it has that niche.

One of my favorite decks that I had years ago was Muzzio, Visionary Architect. It was my first jump into artifacts and I had a ton of fun playin it. I know Arcum was supposed to be better, but Muzzio was a lot more fun for me. Now I'm working on Urza with the other two in the deck.

    Too expensive

  • @skiphoffenflaven8004

All rares, as usual. Too many MTG/MTGO “influencers” and players rely on too many rares. All of you have turned the game into Battle of the Rares. Nothing more, these days. You are addicts that rely on money spent rather than thought and imagination.
