Nice job mate, love the fact the Jaq Shop couldn't get this solved... but you did!!! Thank you for posting this solution, love all the details. I hope you get many years of joy with your F-Type, I think she's in good hands now.
Thanks for the resolution. Crazy how just to get the sounds into the cabin by putting a symposer in, it can affect the engine running. That for me is crazy! I don't think there is one on my V8R ;) I'd rather not have one and go with natural sounds.
Exactly I want to delete it for one so that never happens again and also cause the car would sound better in my opinion. There’s some kits out there to delete it but none I’ve seen so far are specific to the vehicle or specific on all the hardware included
@@logicalthinking21 lemme know if you find it. So silly they didn't just go electric if they really wanted that stupid in cabin sounds gimmick. Better if they just didn't at all but we weren't on the board of engineers when they made the decision lol. I'll Holla at you if I figure it out.
I'm curious how long it took you to replace everything? I was having the P2187 & P2189 codes. I replaced a torn PCV valve on my 2017 F-Type S, but unfortunately those codes were still there. I took it in to the Jag dealer to have it looked at. They confirmed it was a bad symposer. They quoted me saying it was a 7 hr. job at $242 an hour plus the cost of a new symposer. From your video it doesn’t appear to be that long of a job especially if you're just unbolting an old one and reinstalling a new one. The dealer price seems outrageous.
I got quoted just over $8k for an A/C compressor.. told myself I'd never go back to a dealer again😂
I bought a new genuine replacement symposer for $290 and put it on myself in just over 2hrs. I had never done it before, so yeah the dealer was near extortion. Also, that rectified the issue and the car is running as it should again.
@@davidk4114 Good to hear! Ended up doing thermostat housing, water pump, cooling fan, and upgrading intake myself while I was at it. Figured I probably could’ve bought the car 3x over if I did all that thru the dealer
Hey I have the same light I checked already the intakes and it was good but I’m also tuned for e85 do u think I have the same problem as u)
What exact codes do you have? And what have you done so far diagnostically?
@@logicalthinking21 2187 n 2189 I have the ftype v6 as well and I checked the intake and that orange cap that usally breaks
Hey I looked at that hose and it didn’t look like it was cracked do yk what else it could be ?
@@joelmontes6330 honestly man I didn’t find it by just looking either. I bought a smoke machine and I had to smoke out the system and that’s how I ended up finding it so I would recommend trying it that way because even a hairline crack can cause you to get those codes in without the system, being pressurized and smoked you will never notice
@@logicalthinking21 oh okay thanks man !!
Hey I fixed the hose it was cracked but I still have the code but the car runs good nothing seems off yk what it might be ?
Did you remove the code with a scanner
@@logicalthinking21 yes
It just came back on
Can u send the link where u bought ut
