Well now that I have the Q70T with the rear speakers kit... I'll say they're decent. My biggest complaint with the whole things is that the Atmos performance kind of stinks, and you can't force services like Disney+ to feed it 5.1. It detects Atmos support so you get Atmos, and 5.1 is MUCH better on this setup.

I'm from Italy and I saw this soundbar at 299€ from 549€ and i got a samsung ru8000 49 inches so after your video I'm pretty sure that I must buy it thx 🙂
I got an open box HT-X9000f for ~ $170 and the vertical surround engine that some people stood by just sounded very terrible as if it's trying to sound like it's from the top of the room but it's just not great. I just found this soundbar used on Ebay (a little beat up but I think it'll still be fine) for $230. This review (plus not great experience from the Sony) got me to just buy the one off Ebay and return this one. Hopefully it's a much better experience
Keep your eye on prices for this one - Samsung are announcing new products at CES 2021 so retailers should shortly be reducing prices to clear out stock.
Hi, We were under the same impression that this model is providing the best performance at a lower price untill the software failed on our sound bar just after one year. We are now required to pay for the repair.
Fantastic video and very informative. I just found your channel and binge watched all your content. You are a great reviewer, keep up the great work. May I ask what is the model number of your TV and also did you angle the soundbar upwards yourself for some reason or is that just how it sits?
Thank you! The TV is a VIZIO P-Series Quantum 75" and I raised the sound bar so the sound from the left, right and center channels can hit my ears directly instead of my knees, since that's where it would've aimed if I didn't raise it.
@@BijanJamshidi Thank you very much. I'm going to try angle mine up too. I got a HW-Q90R last week and I love it but I feel I am not getting great height effect from the Atmos. I've got rear speaker stands on the way too which should help me get them positioned better.

That’s 399€ here currently, and I’m seriously considering it. I have two questions though. 1) Can you easily stream music from an iPhone with Bluetooth to that sound bar, or should you use route it through the TV with AirPlay2? 2) Can you connect Bluetooth headphones to that sound bar?
I personally use Bluetooth. It was super easy just like any other Bluetooth speaker I’ve ever used. Put it on Bluetooth, pair the phone, wham, bam, jam you’re good to go. When you want to connect to it next time, just click on the source or pair button on the Soundbar remote and connect to it on your phone. And I’m not sure if I can connect headphones to the sound bar via Bluetooth.

Is it supposed to sound like that or are my upfiring speakers broken?
Nice review, thank you. I'm expecting my Q70t tomorrow, which hopefully will be similar to the q70r. Curious - why do you have your sound bar sitting at an upwards angle? How does that affect those upward firing speakers?
It's facing upwards so the front drivers hit my ears directly. If it was flat, it would have been hitting my knees and didn't sound as good. I didn't notice any noticeable difference in the upward performance.

Just got the Q70R this morning, And fair play it's a beast and extremely loud, Just hooked it up to my Xbox one x and its awesome as it comes. But i do have a question in regards to the settings: Treble,Centre,Bass(not the sub), Rear settings although i don't have the rear extra speaker's added. What would you say is the best settings to go with ?
I put surround because it sounds more immersive. The standard audio profile sounds a tiny bit better but it does give you as much of a surround effect.
@@madant1987 No, you are a little lost... Those settings are for volume level of each one chanel, also for treble and the bass. Different from sound modes.
Depends on when that firmware came out. I’ve had my Soundbar since November of last year and when I made this review, I don’t think there was a firmware update. Can’t remember. It’s been a while.
hello @i have a question,,? i have a samsung 55" UA-55MU6300 4k curved smart tv,, now im planning to buy this hw q70r sound bar with dolby atmos and dts x, should i buy it or not? my tv is only 4k hdr +?
Mine is a popcorn ceiling and flat at 8ft. Im concerned the popcorn texture will absorb instead of reflect......oh and is this on sale now that you're aware of?
I’m not sure if there’s a sale. & I don’t think it’ll have an effect on the effectiveness, but I’m not 100% sure. Best is to buy and try, and if you’re not getting the desired effects then return (If possible).
@@BijanJamshidi ok but this one is not a harman Kardon right? oh and do you know what back speakers I could buy with this? I'm about to buy it tomorrow.
I still haven't bought them yet. I was going to get them but as soon as all these states went to lockdown and unemployment started to skyrocket, I decided to save my money for now until this whole pandemic thing passes by and I know for sure my job is secure. I need every doll hair I can get for now.
Bijan J. I’m thinking either get the 900s speakers or just buy the q90r sound bar package. I herd Apple TV box has the Netflix and prime atmos support through it
Can i use it as Chromecast-like to stream from my phone to tv? The barsound and the phone are connected by wifi (smarthings) / BT and the soundbar can send video to the TV ( hdmi out/arc) My tv is not "smart" and i'ld like to cast Netflix from my phone to the TV. Possible ??
What are the best settings for this soundbar Treble, bass ,front, rear etc? And how do I change the woofer settings if i click on the woofer buttonthen it is on zero and I cant get it to 1 or whatever?
That would be all preference. However I usually love bass and treble so I have my treble at 6 and my bass at around 3 or higher depending on what I’m watching.
My sub woofer is very weak even though I have tried updating firmware, reconnecting the woofer and increasing woofer to +6, nothing works. Any suggestion?
It may be defective. How old is your unit. If it’s new, I’d recommend returning it and getting a new one. Also, if you’re connecting via HDMI, try a bunch of different sources of audio from different apps. My sub gets wonky on RUclips.
I mentioned it in some of the comments who asked. My TV stand it very low so I have the soundbar tilted up so the sound hits my face when I sit rather than my legs. It sounds much better like that
Positives: Value for money, cheap. For the money you spent.. it is the best RUclips comcast works Sound is good Surround from top should ideal work as Q70R has top speakers but I could not experience it. Possibly due to audio clip supports both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, plus pass-through 4K HDR video Subwoofer connects automatically by Wifi with soundbar Came with a free wall bracket for soundbar Came with free HDMI cable for ARC connection. Negatives : 1. When pairing Bluetooth of Samsung HW-Q70R/ZN with Sony X80H Tv model the Bluetooth did not work, problem could be on Sony tv side cause my android mobile is able to connect via bluetooth to the soundbar, Anyways since HDMI Arc connection worked with Sony X80H Tv the bluetooth connect with sony Tv is not such a big issue. 2. Samsung Wifi only works with Samsung Tvs does not work with Sony or LG tv 3. Subwoofer was ok not very good but just Ok 4. For some reason SWA9000 (160W rear speakers) wireless Rear speakers are compatible with HW-Q80R, HW-Q70T but could not find HW-Q70R in the list of compatible for SWA9000. It was only included in compatible list of SWA8500 (54W speakers). I think having a rear speaker does make good difference but the HW-Q90R is more then double the price so the Q70R was good value but the rear speaker option SWA8500, SWA9000 can enhance experience at a small extra cost AED. 250-400 (less then USD. 100) depending on model. Some one said SWA9000 works in Q60R so it would be a bummer if it did not work with Q70R. Someone needs to test and confirm this. 5. HW-Q70R does not have side speakers, HW-Q80R has side speakers, HW-Q90R has side speakers plus rear speakers. 6. Remote of Sony X80H Tv remote and Sound bar remote was not in sync. When you use the sony remote sound went to zero faster but sound bar was still showing 11, when I use soundbar remote it was easier to adjust lower volumes between 1-11 by one click at a time. So in other words the sync between sony tv remote and samsung soundbar is not like samsung tv remote vs samsung sound bar. Despite that this is not such a big issue as you can control via soundbar remote lower volume adjustments. If anyone has solution for Negatives reported please let me know.
Someone pls tell me, this soundbar or the sony htz9f? I just bought the z9f for $440 but i can get this samsung for $480, should i return the sony to get the soundbar or is the sony better?

Just got the Q70R this morning, And fair play it's a beast and extremely loud, Just hooked it up to my Xbox one x and its awesome as it comes. But i do have a question in regards to the settings: Treble,Centre,Bass(not the sub), Rear settings although i don't have the rear extra speaker's added. What would you say is the best settings to go with ?
I put surround because it sounds more immersive. The standard audio profile sounds a tiny bit better but it does give you as much of a surround effect.
@@BijanJamshidi Is that the virtual setting in the Treble, bass, centre etc settings ?
@@madant1987 No, you are a little lost... Those settings are for volume level of each one chanel, also for treble and the bass. Different from sound modes.
Sure you did but before demo was the firmware etc updated and the soundbar connected via a HDMI 2.0b cable from ARC to eARC on your TV?
Depends on when that firmware came out. I’ve had my Soundbar since November of last year and when I made this review, I don’t think there was a firmware update. Can’t remember. It’s been a while.
Will I be able to pair with blue tooth two rear speakers if I also hook up this sound bar?
I could be wrong, but I think you’ll only be able to pair the Samsung rear speakers as this only connects to 1 device at a time.
Great review. Where did you find your deal under $500
Best Buy.

Other than the price why didn't you get the Samsung Harman Kardon 7.1.4? thanks
Price is the reason.
@@BijanJamshidi Thanks
hello @i have a question,,? i have a samsung 55" UA-55MU6300 4k curved smart tv,, now im planning to buy this hw q70r sound bar with dolby atmos and dts x, should i buy it or not? my tv is only 4k hdr +?
i mean, if i play a movie with dolby atmos via usb on the tv,, will it pass through on the sound bar? thank you in advanced for your reply bro
Gbp price please.
This is the Harmon Kardon one. The SW9000 rear speakers work with it.
I’ve bought this soundbar and it’s awesome I was also thinking of adding the rear wireless speakers did you manage to get these as you previously said
I still haven't bought them yet.
I haven’t herd my q70 with atmos yet as I’m only running normal Netflix and prime that doesn’t support atmos I have a 4K firestick but still can’t find it on that. I herd Apple TV box has the Netflix and prime atmos support through it
@@Miaclarke2014 hello, are rear speaker SWA-9000s are compatible with Q70R soundbar??
Nuril Anwar yes they are but haven’t herd them
Is SWA-8500S and SWA-9000S can work in my HW-Q70R?
2nd question: The free HDMI cable in HW-Q70R can handle 4k and dolby atmos?
Thank you in advance
Swa 8500s works great with this, and the hdmi cable is 2.1 compatible, can handle 8k also.
Im already purchase SWA-9000S , and its work with my Q70R.. and yes its can handle atmos and 4k walkthrough
Jbl 5.1 2020 or Q70R ?
Q70R
Can i use it as Chromecast-like to stream from my phone to tv?
The barsound and the phone are connected by wifi (smarthings) / BT and the soundbar can send video to the TV ( hdmi out/arc)
My tv is not "smart" and i'ld like to cast Netflix from my phone to the TV. Possible ??
Put a chromecast on your tv and your set. You can cast youtube music to your tv and it will play through your sound bar.
@@BijanJamshidi Okay, and front ,Rear Woofer, Adaptive and Virtual, what are good settings for those? I have the virtual on...
My sub gets wonky on RUclips.
i dont know what to buy, this q70r or the jbl 5.1 sound bar with detachable rear speakers...
I haven’t tested the JBL or the Vizio, but they’re on my list. Though low priority for review.
Whats the best Samsung Q70 PR JBL 3.1 soundbar?
Q70R
Tv model q6fn ?
Just scored a store demo for 380.
You forgot to mention why you have your Soundbar tilted upwards 🤔
I mentioned it in some of the comments who asked. My TV stand it very low so I have the soundbar tilted up so the sound hits my face when I sit rather than my legs. It sounds much better like that
@@BijanJamshidi alright thanks. That makes sense, I really was puzzled
Positives:
Value for money, cheap. For the money you spent.. it is the best
RUclips comcast works
Sound is good
Surround from top should ideal work as Q70R has top speakers but I could not experience it. Possibly due to audio clip
supports both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, plus pass-through 4K HDR video
Subwoofer connects automatically by Wifi with soundbar
Came with a free wall bracket for soundbar
Came with free HDMI cable for ARC connection.
Negatives :
2. Samsung Wifi only works with Samsung Tvs does not work with Sony or LG tv
3. Subwoofer was ok not very good but just Ok
This is one of the best😁
i have another problem. if i use any other mode than standard then talking in movies sounds only from midle and left. not right at all. Only music or movie explosions sound right side.
Try using another cable and see if that works. If not. try Bluetooth from your phone and see if all the other speakers work or not.
@@BijanJamshidi all speakers are working, But central works only when i use "surround, adapt or game" mode. these problems are the same with bluetooth and optical cable whit (old tv and computer). I haven't tried hdmi yet because my tv is so old and does not have hdmi acr port.
and cable is new
@@BijanJamshidi if you use bluetooth from your phone center speaker works too?
Yes. I suggest exchanging it for a new unit. You may have a bad one.
I am between the q70 and sk10y which one is better?
I've never owned the SK10Y myself, but reviews point to the Q70R being better.
Did you buy it new or refurbished? I ask because I'm thinking about buying a refurbished model.
I purchased mine new.
@@BijanJamshidi Thanks for your immediate.
Hi, Can you help me?
I bought Samsung 49" Q60R
Is it okay if i will buy this HW-Q70R for my Q60R TV?
Also I am playing with PS4 or Netflix.
I really need your help tho.
Yes.
@@BijanJamshidi I really do regret from buying Samsung 49" Q60R 😩. It has only 60hz and no dolby atmos. But if I buy HW-Q70R Soundbar. Is my Q60R will be worth it? Can you help me encourage my Q60R 😭
Depends. What did you want from a monitor?
@@BijanJamshidi I usually playing PS4 and watching netflix. Do you have any suggestion? I live in condo. 28sqmeter room, should I get a surround sound 5.1 speaker? Or this soundbar is already good? Also one thing, is 120hz tv better for ps5? Or this q60r 60hz is already good? Thanks in advance for helping mate.
You’ll probably want to get a 120Hz tv for the PS5.
You said you will give some sound samples.. but you didn't..
You must’ve not watched the video.
