I stopped this video at 3:08 to give you an idea what I'm talking about, but if you watch the actual clip, that part when he's just finishing 316 and ready to go into the next set, he raises his head towards the audience as if he's asking them "Ok people, are you ready?" THAT'S the part that puts a smile on my face because I feel that's exactly what he's asking them.

Eddie is not just gifted. When he was young and broke, he would spend
hours and hours and hours practicing guitar and building his own guitars
with modified parts, to get the exact sound he was looking for that
nobody else had......the sound of which BLEW AWAY every guitar player
who heard Eddie hit the scene in 1978. The perfect player arrived with
the Holy Grail of guitar sounds. That guitar he's playing he built
himself for less than $200 bucks.

He is the greatest guitar player every day and of all times. When he came out in the late 1970s hammering on the guitar neck like he did with both hands. Until him no one ever had done that to the extent like him. Every guitarist on the planet by the 1980s was trying to figure out how he was doing it like that! At first his brother Alex Van Halen (the drummer) told Eddie to turn towards the drums when he did his solos so others could see how he did it and then copy him. But eventually ever heavy metal guitarist in the 1980s had at least some of Eddie's styles in there playing. But he is the one who re- invented the way to play electric guitar. He also was responsible for the first Super Stratocaster guitar with a Floyd rose tremelo bridge. Look up instructional videos on u-tube about Floyd rose and the tricks and sounds your able to get from the Floyd Rose tremelo bridge. It will better explain it to you.
