I think I may have this. I've had issues for a while now with food getting stuck even though I can breathe just fine. I have researched and know it could be a number of other issues, but where do I start? Which type of medical professional should I see first? I know I could be recommended to a certain specialist depending on what I have. Any recommendations or insight??

I know your comment is a month old, but im having issues with this, and was referred to an ENT, and specifically one that specializes in the Throat part of Ear Nose and Throat.
Usually if you see a regular ENT, they should be able to point you to the right direction. If your problem is a lot lower than the larynx/pharynx, then a GI might be the best bet
