Found out about 6 weeks ago I have esophageal cancer. I've had a CT and pet scan, luckily it's localised to the esophagus. Fingers crossed they have caught it early and can just cut it out and maybe a couple of rounds of chemo. It's all good. I'm lucky that I found it hard to swallow especially meat, doctor ran a couple of tests. I had a gasteroscopy and endoscopy and low and behold they found a badboy. 2 cm malignant tumor.

Fifteen years ago my husband had stage 4 esophageal and stomach cancer . After 6 wks. of radiation and 2 types of chemo they removed the lower 1/2 of his esophagus and the upper 1/2 of his stomach and then attached the two . Eight months later they discovered cancer in his left lung , they removed 1/3 of the lung . The radation he received for the esophageal cancer killed off 46% of his heart , he later had open heart surgery. He is now on dialysis because he was kept on metformin too long for his type 2 diabetes . He just turned 80 last month .

My dad was 71 when he was diagnosed. He had quit smoking 20-someodd years before although he was a daily beer drinker. Because the initial tumor was too close to his heart, surgery wasn't an option. He did chemo and radiation for a year and a half before it made him too weak. He also had a feeding tube that went directly in his side. He fought for nearly two years. It'll be 9 years in September hat he died.

having been diagnose with lupus, sometimes the lower Esophagus seems to go into a spasm. Usually together with a feeling of being hunger. If I eat something in this case, all of a sudden I start vomit ing and it is quite drastic, until the very last bit of fluid in the stomach comes out. If I can quickly drink fluids before the vomit ing starts, I can prevent the vomiting. I also then have a painful feeling at the area where the stomach meets the esophagus.

The Esophageal cancers are detrimental, specially for patients who happen not to know nor detect the early symptoms. From the discharge of the fluid, when it has that yellowish to reddish color, it is bacterial infection, as well as the thickening of the esophageal walls, trachea, that is prone to the virus/bacteria infection. Scanning of the affected area can be performed in order to get the mass or any nodular formations, since it is carcinogens that made it to be worse. Leukocyte tests can be performed for early detection as well, in order for it not to spread, nor become cancer of the blood, as to anemia, leukemia concerns due to failure to detect early symptoms. MCR/GM.

My gastroenterologist says I do not have Barrett’s esophagus nor do I have cancer cells in my stomach however I did have thyroid cancer which is in adenocarcinoma. 64 year old male with Barrett’s Esophagus (diagnosed 4 + years ago) experiencing severe sore throat lasting 6+ weeks that has progressively worsened, constant cough, recent onset of hoarse voice. Individual described a chocking feeling that burned. No loss of appetite or weight.

My mom died of esophageal cancer at age 86. Didn't drink or smoke -- she may have had GERD but it wasn't a thing when she was younger. GI doc referred her to Mayo Clinic where a colleague was doing Photodynamic therapy for it. She initially had spots at stage 1 and stage zero. Mayo made it sound like she would get better. They did the therapy & then endoscopies where they said they burned away the cancerous spots but they never went away. She had a Stent put in which was nothing but pain for her.
Now I realize she was used as a guinea pig for this new procedure. I will never forgive myself for not realizing this earlier and for having such blind faith in Mayo.

That is true. I contracted HPV back in 2020 it was the worst day of my life. I got checked for cervical cancer because I heard that’s the main one women get although you can get the others as well. I was scared to death. I made a mistake and did something I should have never did. I didn’t know drinking hot liquids can cause cancer I thought tea was supposed to be hot and help you with a sore throat. That’s insane! I got checked for oral cancer too when I went to my dentist both came back normal. I haven’t got checked for throat cancer yet. I’m 26 years old and I pray I don’t get diagnosed with this. I lost my grandmother, great grandmother and cousins to cancer. It’s a terrible disease and I hate that it’s here.
