  • This is a new "series" I'm doing called basics. These videos won't be uploaded at specific times but rather whenever I feel the need to answer questions about certain tools or materials. They won't be uploaded as part of my normal schedule either, but as 'bonus' videos :)
    In this video I'll be going through the different types of hair/fur/fibres I have for using with my polymer clay Dolls and animals; Mohair, Merino, Angora, Tibetan lamb, synthetics(likely to be nylon) & some alternatives if you're not comfortable using animal fibres :)
    I'd always recommend doing your own research to find sellers you trust or sellers near you, but a couple of the websites I've purchased merino, mohair, the dyes and the 'vegan alternatives' from are;
    heidifeathers.com/
    www.scottishfib...
    My favorite seller on ebay for viscose (great quality and long strands);
    www.ebay.co.uk/...
    Unfortunately, the website I've ordered a lot of my fibres no longer exists, so I'm unable to share that one with you.
    Quick note; if you're able to buy yarn made from these same natural fibres such as merino, you can use that as well to create fur on your animals :) it's the same fibre that I have, only difference is that it's been spun (you need to unravel it) and it may not look as smooth after being 'curled/twisted'.
