Stephen Colbert took over as host of The Late Show on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015. Colbert is best known for his work as a television host, writer, actor, and producer, and best known for his charity work teaching English as a second language on Tunisian date farms. Prior to joining the CBS family -- and being officially adopted by network president Les Moonves -- Colbert helmed “The Colbert Report,” which aired nearly 1,500 episodes and required Stephen to wear nearly 1,500 different neckties. The program received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several unwelcome shoulder massages. It won two Emmys for Outstanding Variety Series in 2013 and 2014, both of which appear to have been lost in the move. Colbert is pronounced koʊlˈbɛər, according to Wikipedia. His understudy is William Cavanaugh, who will be hosting The Late Show approximately one third of the time. Good luck, Bill!"

Ethan Hawke is one of my favorite underrated actors. I've always thought he was one of the least Hollywood fake types. He seems like a real guy.

Happy to see Ethan Hawke calmer since most of his roles made him look like he's always bothered/exhausted. Love him in Before Sunrise, Sunset and Midnight.

Colbert kept interrupting Ethan with random questions and taking the flow out of the conversation. I understand that live tv has time restraints but if you are getting good feedback then stick with it, otherwise you'll seem insincere and piss off your guests...kinda like what happened here

Ethan was getting into his story telling mode, and Colbert knew he had to do two things: Finish the interview soon, and cut back to the Magnificent Seven. Otherwise, he would've had to cut Hawke off less than graciously.

Colbert seems to be getting tired of doing the same shtick every day. That, and/or there's something happening behind the scenes. My guess is all time low ratings hit that happened early September.
