Great video, good teacher:) Questions: Is it the heat of the iron that reactivates the glue? I don't quite get it how dried glue can come to life and keep from making wrinkles. Thanks for sharing!
I used to have a roommate who worked in the props department at the Old Globe and Starlight theaters. If I recall correctly E-6000 glue is highly toxic and she wore a mask when working with it. Please double check the back of the tube and see. A very beautiful piece of art. I'm going to try this. Great video!
+The Healing Spirit Thank you, and yes, it smells highly toxic. Do you know what type of mask should be worn? There are a few different types in the hardware store. I'll recommend the proper one in my next video-do you know which kind? Thanks again! Patti
patioelf I believe it was a hospital mask because there are a couple layers to those. Also working out in the open on table in your backyard as a opposed to a closed up room will help too. She stored E-6000 glue in a ziplock bag also. I paint silk scarves & won't do it in-doors because the paints (when wet) are highly toxic.
Thank you. You're not in the Northeast are you? We normally can't work outside from late October to around late March-cold, wind, rain or snow. (sometimes freezing temps) Once in a while I'll make a video outside but that's in the spring or summer and I'll hear from people that where they live it's a different climate so they can't go out. In a few of my video's I will suggest that people work in a well ventilated room though, I have to open a window once in a while in the winter, but I close the door and let the room detox as the project dries. :)

+Sandi Vandiver Sandi, I do not know how I missed this message until today. I am very sorry I didn't get back to you! Yes, you do let the decoupage glue dry-then iron your napkin over it. Yes! It is amazing for keeping the wrinkles out. You can pull the napkin a bit more since it's dry to keep it from wrinkling then just like with clothes you iron the napkin down! It's the most fun you'll have ironing-ever. I'm going to send you another video that may help you too. Again, I'm sorry I missed your message. This method, using the craft iron to seal the napkin on the canvas with Modpodge worked beautifully. Absolutely no wrinkles....until I added the top coat. Then wrinkles and bubbles all over the place. I tried smoothing with cheap plastic wrap which didn't help. Tried covering it with parchment paper and going over it with the iron again, with no luck. Tried a brush one time, a sponge the other time. How do I put on a top coat of Modpodge and keep my napkin looking so pretty? Can I spray with clear acrylic instead maybe? My canvases were just perfect until I put a coat on top.
Hi Claire, I'm so sorry to hear that! I know how disappointing that can be. I have had that happen to me before when adding a top coat but the wrinkles did seem to settle once it all dried. I do think adding a spray top coat would be better. You definitely want to use a very light mist first, dry, then spray again. I hope that helps. :) Patti
patioelf Thanks Patti. I'll try the acrylic spray next time and just not ModPodge a top coat. I think that might work out better and it will still protect and seal the napkin.
