its good to see toothbrushes finally adopt USB charging. Feels like they should have had this as standard a decade ago!

According to my Sonicare 3100 manual the intensity can be changed by pressing the power button twice within 2 seconds, but all it does is turn off and on? Other than that I'm happy with the toothbrush so far.

The UK/EU model does not have this 2 mode option. The USA version does. It is possible the manual is global and does not make clear the differences.

I found Sonicare 3100 on sale and bought it so I could compare it with my Oral-B Pro 3 3000. Is it normal that Sonicares have "tingling" sensation when used? Oral-B's roundhead doesn't have that somewhat uncomfy feeling.

I would say it is more ticklish than tingling, but there is a difference in the way they feel. You will probably get used to it after a few days.
