Personally having used both, I find the sonic brushes get between the spaces in your teeth far more effectively. The oscillating action of the oral-b misses the smaller gaps.
@nicklleees1571 If I can get my teeth cleaner without flossing I rather would though personally. The sonic brushes definitely offer a more effective clean for me.
The thing I don't like about oral B brush head is the gears inside builds up gunk and mold which is disgusting. You have to clean and replace frequently.
Thank you. Settling on one has been doing my head in today! I just got the SC 3100 in the UK so many thanks. Sadly I’m not expecting this one to be as good as the old Sonicare I have which has just died on me after 5 years but hopefully not too dissimilar.
@@ElectricTeethI buy the oral-b io6 ,it work really well, but it get a lot of black mold inside de gear ,and I washed every single day,I am been disappointed.
This is the thing I don't like about oral B. The brush head has gears inside that builds up toothpaste and mold. So you have to rinse and replace the head frequently. I'm amazed mold can grow on toothpaste as it's supposed to be antibacterial. 🤯
Oral B IO has replaceable batteries, at least some of them. That is a HUGE difference. Also, as you said, it cleans better but is noisier. Also, there are 3rd party replacement heads now, so the head cost is about the same between all toothbrushes.
I had a replaceable battery model and it leaked and inside rusts. If you get the ones with sealed battery they last a long time. Mine has lasted a decade though admittedly it doesn't hold a charge much anymore.
Sonicare brushes a little better but is less reliable than the Oral-B. It’s like comparing a BMW with a Lexus. A BMW performs better on the track and has a better interior but the Lexus just lasts forever and costs less to maintain.
Im a sufferer or gum recession and lately i've kept noticing that frontal top teeth keeps building up plaque just at the gumlines and the sonicare never managed to remove it unless i angled the bristles and jammed them in. According to my dentist's followups it was most probably made recession worse. Oral B had no issues what so ever.. Also there is some inevitable buildup on sonicare connection point that makes the toothbrush more noisy and become less vibrating..i dont have needled that are narrow enough to reach all the way. Just a headsup that sonicare might be a future hassle for you
Having used a "regular" Oral B and a Sonicare, Sonicare is what I preferred in the end for the more gentle brushing they offer compared to Oral B. Oral B feels very aggressive during the time I used it where the Cross action brush head irritated my gums during the first 5 or so uses. This is clearly not the case with Sonicare where both me and my gums enjoyed it much more and I basically have no complains for the brushing and cleaning sensation of a Sonicare toothbrush. But then Oral B releases the io and since I have never used one I need to ask out of curiosity : Is the Oral B io more gentle with brushing to the point that it will remind me the brushing of a Sonicare or the io is as aggressive in brushing like a "regular" Oral B is ?
i suspect oral b has a better more agressive marketing because they seem to be the most recommended but end users appear to typically prefer philips. i would love to see a disclosure on this video. who is paying the piper?
Hey. Neither brand is paying the piper in this instance. This is one of the things that makes our channel unique. We've not received a single £/$ in money from the big brands to create our content. The most we have gotten is a sample of each brush, and the instances of this are low. We buy most of them ourselves. Here's links to our information pages that explain more. Hi there. Could you advise which would be the best purchase between the Sonicare 9000 diamond clean and the new Sonicare 7100, both are currently available for a similar price and the 7100 is a much more recent model with some newer tech. Thanks 👍🏼
Hey. I'd pick the 7100. There isn't much between them to be honest. They both clean the teeth comparably. Full review of the 7100 will be on our channel in the coming weeks. Just finishing up our testing of it.
On it. Recently finished testing & writing up my findings. Going to be recording the video soon. **SPOILER ALERT** If you want a toothbrush that is more capable than most but you don’t want to spend more than you have to, the Oclean X Ultra S is a very good option. I know I am going to be recommending this brush a lot.
Until philips starts putting sensitive modes on their models, and especially their cheaper models, oral-b will always win. And they need to make their sensitive mode a lot more gentle
That have sensitive mode. But I think their very cheapest model may be one setting only. The el cheapo one I use has only one setting but I'm upgrading to a mid priced model. For $60 you can get a 3 setting model.
My oral b just went out I started using it on the 30th bought 29th of Sept. I had the io5 it only lasted about two weeks when I just got stuck in the strongest mode . I can't change modes . I'm trying to warranty it . Might give it a second chance but idk yet
I have a small mouth and have found my oral b to not in between top and bottom all the way, so I use my manual to cover that area. Would the Phillips do better here?
I don't think Sonicare would be much better here. Have you tried closing your mouth bit as you brush. As odd as that might sound, it can sometimes help.
@@ElectricTeeth unfortunately only international amazon who sells Sonicare prestige 9900 for 420$ , while IO 10 is 360$, i thought it is the opposite, i was excited fot thr 9900 prestige one 💔
It’s literally not hard. Go get a cheap oral B and a sonicare one and you’ll see sonicare cleans your teeth to the point you came out of from the dentists chair.
this guy should be a data analyst. very well put together!
Thank you for the kind words

Like floss ;)
@nicklleees1571 If I can get my teeth cleaner without flossing I rather would though personally. The sonic brushes definitely offer a more effective clean for me.
@@BrianW1612 One needs to floss. I use a waterpik most of the time, but standard floss picks weekly.
@justinkase1360 I still floss of course.

Exactly the video i was looking for. This topic was a challenge for a while
I do hope it helped.
Oral B brushead has a slot or hole in it that lets in schmutz and gunk that coats the drive shaft and mold up as you brush over time.
This is the thing I don't like about oral B. The brush head has gears inside that builds up toothpaste and mold. So you have to rinse and replace the head frequently. I'm amazed mold can grow on toothpaste as it's supposed to be antibacterial. 🤯
I have both. I can tell you for a fact the sonicare is much much better. In every single way
As someone who owns both & used Oral-b for many years, I 100% agree.
As someone who owns both and has used Oral B for over 12 years, I think I agree
What makes you guys say that?

It's less aggressive than a 'regular' Oral-B, but doesn't feel like a Sonicare. Based on what you say, I'd stick to Sonicare.
