    couldn't agree more. Also a great companion for ipad and it's great softsynths. In that case even totally wireless over bluetooth and on battery power. A powerful live setup in a very small form factor - in my case with a tx-6.

    The oxi one is really an great sequencer. There is one thing though that I would like to see is a way to randomize a note pitch like per step. I know there is the stochastic and matriceal sequencer but I would like to be able to enter a melody and decide for each step a random variation for the pitch with an associated probability. In matriceal, you cannot specify a pitch per step, you can have only randomize the root note. Polyend play lets you do that for instance.

    This is great! So you just have the Oxi sending midi on a bunch of different channels, and each one is mapped to a track in the daw? The daw is just like a complex multi-synth that happens to be controlled from the Oxi? I think I get how that would work, but would love to see a walk-through of the whole setup. =)

    Thought it was a toss up vs. this and the Hapax. So, I got both. 😂
    Have 3 different jam stations, one is more MIDI oriented, the other is semi modular so it uses both, and finally an all Eurorack setup.
    I’m using the Hapax for the MIDI setup, and Oxi One for the semi modular system.
    Haven’t used them enough to determine a favourite yet. Thinking both are great for my use case, but the Oxi has a chance of moving over to the Eurorack station. Adding the Coral could yield some interesting results. 🫤

      @hardcoreherbivore4730 7 месяцев назад

      @@tyranic1 They had a new update in October, and another in beta currently. They’re working on it. OXI has been out much longer, so I’m not concerned.
      IMO, they both have decent pattern generation already. What distinguishes them is what they are optimized for. The Hapax is more optimized for MIDI, especially with the added MIDI effects. OXI One is more optimized for CV and gate signals.
      Although, a person can integrate both with either one. When you have as much gear as I have, it’s nice to have that flexibility.
      Can’t see myself giving either one up. To do so would mean unplugging everything and having to set it up again, just to make use of everything I have. Nice to walk in to the studio with everything plugged in and setup, just gotta turn it on and start jamming. 🤟😛

But i definitely have enough tools to expand greatly on the number of eight tracks without using another sequencer. Although sometimes i control one sequencer with another. Hi Dude ! Fucking incredible for the production of this device my god! Too bad it's so expensive. I wouldn't use it for external devices. I don't know if there is a good alternative for less money. In any case I would like to use it to trigger samples and change gate velocity pitch (I don't know if you can do this on a vst sampler). In any case, sooner or later it will be mine. If there is an alternative let me know ;))
    Ps can you save the project on the sequencer ?

      There's nothing quite like it. It's been compared to Hapax as well but I think that's in the same price range.

      You can match the midi channels via the Oxi one + your DAW so that the Oxi One controls appropriate instruments / channels.

    Are the Oxi One pads velocity sensitive?

    • @LiamKillen

      I’ve actually only used it to plug notes in so I’m not 100% sure- there is a very streamlined velocity feature that’s been implemented after the latest update though.

    To be honest i really disliked the music you made but the workflow is dope!
    I'm using oxi dawless and im thinking to bring ableton back to play some synth as you just did.
    Oxi is all a sequencer can have, the only thing is that it's not very intuitive but you get use to it after a while.
    Keep up the good work! Cheers

      Not fully understanding your logic - there's so many other aspects of the Oxi One I can explore with other set ups. But for this DAW / composition type set up, I don't see anything else on the market that can replicate this sort of work flow- that's for sure.

    Oxi One is too expensive here, so opted for a PE Play non +, it was $500 cheaper than the Oxi.
    The Reliq is due out next year and that is one of the reasons not to heavily invest in the Oxi or Hapax.
    I think the Reliq will change a lot of things on how people look at sequencers.

      Search for Reliq hybrid control sequencer
      I think this is an endgame product, it does everything and more.
      It's expensive but well worth it imo.

      The Reliq won’t be inexpensive by any means, also takes up a lot of space. It’ll be interesting to see what happens with it though.

    Not being funny but it would be so much easier and you would have so much control just using your daw. Nobody needs to spend £700 to make their work flow slower and less intuative.

    • @LiamKillen
      @LiamKillen  8 месяцев назад +1

      It’s not slower at all though once you learn how to use it and it pushes you to come up with completely different results and adds a hardware feel to composing- It can also be transplanted very intuitively in a live setting. Plenty of reasons why it’s worth it
