I love Santana music, te transmite pasión y wuuaoo! Su modo de tocar su guitarra es tan suave que te eleva al paraíso..I love'it..Greettings guys from Sonora 🇲🇽.. Gracias thst you like Santana music..✌️😍🤩..
This was written by Rob Thomas about his wife (the lady in the window). He originally wasn’t supposed to sing on it, but when Santana heard the demo, he insisted Rob sing on it
This song was a monster when it came out. It was number 1 in the US for 12 straight weeks. Billboard considers it the second most successful song of all time.
Absolutely, still upset at myself for not seeing them yet. My Roommate went to their concert back in the day but didn't tell me. He was trying to get a girl without ppl knowing lol.
Absolutely. They get hate on tv shows for some reason but I will never understand it. Beautiful band, especially in their earlier years. Saw them live and it was a spiritual experience 😅
A little trivia - This song was the last number one of the 20th century and the first number one of the 21st. It's really hard to believe that it's already been 20 years! Rob Thomas has some awesome songs with his group, Matchbox 20. "Push" and "3AM" are a couple that you should check out
I've watched this video so many times cause I like feeling I'm at their street party. So amazing. You would enjoy Maria Maria as well. He's an amazing artist and his collaborations on some of his songs are great.
The girl in the window at the time was the girlfriend of Rob Thomas, she later became his wife. Rob Thomas has a solo career plus the lead from Matchbox 20.
Carlos Santana and Rob Thomas are both legends in the music world but Carlos Santana has been around since the 60s and Rob Thomas got famous in the 90s as the lead singer of Matchbox 20💯
Hey Guys, I am a west coast Canadian. This song, Smooth, was first published in 1999. It not only represents the amazing skills of a master musician but also represents a way of life for not only Black/Latinos in Las Angeles but also the entire west coast of North America. Ask someone from New York what do they do and their answer will typically be I'm a Doctor or I'm a Teacher or I'm a Mechanic ... but ... if you ask a west coaster the same question ... What do you do? ... they will answer with ... I save lives, or I educate, or I save history. It's a different world here.
Thank you. SANTANA IS ONE OF THE BEST!!!The radio stations here in ala dont play him at all. Along with a lot of other groups. LEON RUSSELL,FRANK ZAPPA,VAN MORRISON. And many others
Hi you guys! Santana put out a sexy song called "Samba Pa Ti"... It's truly a song that talks to you (to me anyway lol). Thank you so much for your reactions to all my favorite groups :)
This whole album was a great collaboration of artist. This song in particular was soooooo awesome and ironically in all Santana's career his first ever grammy 💗🕊️
You know there is a video of Santana & SRV & a couple of other big name guitarists on the same stage!! No reactor that I've seen has covered it....so you're welcome!!😊😘✌🏼
Santana is top 5 for me and top 2 in terms of albumns purchased. I got to go to his Supernatural tour in the early 2000's. He is fantastic and surrounds himself with the very best musicians.
This song is great. Santana also mentors some younger performers. He and Rob Thomas the person singing both performed with this young guitar protégé when he was 10. You should check out both videos on his channel. The kid's name is Taj Farrant and he will blow you away.
Santa's is definitely a G.O.A.T. I saw him in 2019 at the House of Blues in Las Vegas at least 4 times. Locals could get tickets for $50. And on FB The House of Blues has drawings for tickets. I won twice. Just pick them up at the Box Office. He's fantastic! Can't wait to see him in 2021.
You're completely right about his music instantly putting you in a mood. When you read the comments you noticed that everyone has a different favorite from the album Supernatural. That's why you should listen to the whole albumn (even if you don't react to it), it's amazing. Everlast is overlooked, but 'put your lights on' is an amazing song.
Greetings from Texas guys!! That was a fun reaction & fun song!! Everybody who was anybody (ha) owned at least one Santana 8 track tape back in the day!! Great stuff!
If you like the singer’s voice, check out his band Matchbox 20. Very popular in the 90’s. Santana has been making music since the late 60’s. Take some blues, Caribbean and African and Latin music stir it up and enjoy. Another band worth a look is Los Lonely Boys, mainly the song Heaven. P&L.
Carlos and Rob wrote this as a tribute to both their wives who are Latina's, and their lives with them. Hopefully you will read this some day so you can listen to this with more informed ears. Great reaction guys.
Definitely smooth. I always thought of Santana as a "Close your eyes, gently nod and grimace" guitarist. Instead of air guitaring or banging my head...
Another Guitar king JIMMY HENDRIX. Bar none...along w/Slash, Santana plus a few more Want 2 hear 2 guys who started a revolution w/the Cellos. They r called The 2 Cellos. Elton John heard them on line and immediately signed them under his label. That quick. Just after 1 video Try THUNDERSTRUCK. THE SHOW MUST GO ON. WHOLE LOT OF LOVE. WITH OR WITHOUT YOU. TEEN SPIRIT (the song that got them famous). All their songs r just that good. Basically went on a 7 year world tour after travelling w/Elton John Soooo good. I was hooked after hearing them Fr across the waters Canada 🇨🇦 🐥🐥🐥hugs 2 ALL
One of the five living Masters of guitar ; Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, David Gilmour and Jeff Beck. All are now over 70 but unsurpassed. There are a lot of great younger guitarists (Robert Cray, Jimmy Vaughn, Derek Trucks, Ian Moss (Australian, from Cold Chisel, check them out, they are Australia's finest), Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Joe Bonamassa etc) but they don't yet eclipse the Masters.
Not a word about Rob Thomas? He wrote this with Itaal Shur. Santana had not had a hit since '82 and the record label was teaming him up with current artists to bring in new fans. It worked this song was #1 Billboard for 12 weeks. Loved Santana since Tango in '69 and Smooth wouldn't big without him but definitely sad you ignored Thomas and knew nothing about the creation of the song. Credit were credit is due.
From this same album (“Supernatural“) I would love to see your reaction to the live version of Da Ya Leo for an amazing Latin groove. Also, the Kennedy Center Honors tribute to him was fantastic! ☮️💜
I absolutely LOVE Carlos Santana and his 20 year old Supernatural album is PHENOMENAL!!! Please check out Maria, Maria; Corazon Espinado; and the Calling which is a collaboration with Eric Clapton! The whole album is FIRE!
There weren’t a lot of guitar players that wrote and produced their albums in their own names. Another words he chose rob thomas and other vocalist and produced his own stuff. Grammy Grammy grammy

Santana is in a class by themselves, been listening since the 70s.
This song was a monster when it came out. It was number 1 in the US for 12 straight weeks. Billboard considers it the second most successful song of all time.

Yes! One of my favorites!
Its a great song when you want to feel warm, or that it is summer when it's cold and snowy where you/I am. lol.
Years ago I read an interview and Carlos said, "You don't play a guitar. You make love to it."
When asked SANTANA about how he plays his music, he said “I don’t play the music the music plats me”
The way you both smiled as soon as it kicked in says it all👍😁🤗..... Brilliantly sexy tune
The singer Rob Thomas wrote this song and he has a band called Matchbox Twenty many great hits and they won a Grammy for this song
Santana is a warm wind. That what he is. It’s like a warm wind blowing. ✌🏻❤️

a SMOOOTH RELAXING SANTANA song is an instrumental. Get a nice drink and REELLAAAXX!!! To: Samba Pa Ti --- nice, calm, relaxing and smooth!!
"Blues for Salvador" is probably my favourite Santana piece, but "Smooth" is fire
Definitely smooth. I always thought of Santana as a "Close your eyes, gently nod and grimace" guitarist. Instead of air guitaring or banging my head...

Santana is known for their block parties in Los Angles, California even today.
First to reaction? ilI love this part(
Please react to Samba Pa Ti , the album is Abraxas, thank you very much.

Watch the live performance, longer and you get the energy of the performers plus audience.👍
He makes his guitar the singer
If you want another "smooth" song of Santana, you have to listen to "Samba pa Ti". The audio-version.
Carlos looks at the Camera and he knows it's good.
How about some props for the lead singer on the song, Rob Thomas. Thomas (lead singer from Matchbox 20) and Santana collaborated on the song Smooth.
Not a word about Rob Thomas? He wrote this with Itaal Shur. Santana had not had a hit since '82 and the record label was teaming him up with current artists to bring in new fans. Also, the Kennedy Center Honors tribute to him was fantastic! ☮️💜
Rob Thomas said when he started writing this song for Santana, he was thinking of how "Smooth" Carlos Santana is.
Latin music NEVER makes you sad!!!!
Try "The Healer" by Carlos and blues man John Lee Hooker.
he's like fresh hot expresso..
"dark as night, sweet as sin"
( to quote Cloris Leachman in American Gods)
Give a listen to Daniel Castro performing I’ll play the blues for you ...... wonderful !!!!
You guys know that it is Rob Thomas doing the singing, he's not part of Santana. He was in a band called Matchbox 20
I absolutely LOVE Carlos Santana and his 20 year old Supernatural album is PHENOMENAL!!! Please check out Maria, Maria; Corazon Espinado; and the Calling which is a collaboration with Eric Clapton! The whole album is FIRE!
I suggest that you look up Santana do this song LIVE!!!!!
There weren’t a lot of guitar players that wrote and produced their albums in their own names. Another words he chose rob thomas and other vocalist and produced his own stuff. Grammy Grammy grammy
If you go to Tijuana and see a child playing a guitar on the side of the road for change, that's where he was when he was young.
You really react to Santana - Europa... You won't regret it.
