RTX 40 Super Series is not perfect, but it seems like a step in the right direction. Intel's Battlemage shouldn't be too far away from launching as well. Hopefully, Battlemage ends up being a massive performance increase over Alchemist, with reasonable prices and good drivers. If Intel can manage to pull that off, they will definitely earn some market share in the gaming market, and hopefully, that will convince Nvidia and AMD to do better in the gaming market. The gaming market desperately needs competition. Competition is the key to a healthy industry and benefits consumers. PC gaming has been in a bad state recently, so hopefully, there will be more competition soon, so things can turn around for PC gaming.

Nvidia's revenue generation from gaming products is comparatively modest in contrast to the substantial income derived from their AI products in non-consumer markets.
They could care less about their gaming products, and they keep the prices high because they know they can. (Pathogen of 2020) is the best thing that ever happened to them, because they learned just how much people will pay for their easiest product.
This marketing is almost lawsuit worthy..
If the 4070 Ti Super gives 2.5x the performance of a 3070 Ti, that would make it faster than a 4090.. The 4090 is 2.2x faster than the 3070 Ti.
Want to know why they said this? One, or both of these two reasons.
1: They used DLSS and frame generation advantages that the 3070 Ti does not have access to.
2: They used a VRAM limiting scenario for the 3070 Ti, as they claim 1440p gaming for the 4070 Ti Super. In 1440p, 8gb of VRAM is a bottleneck, and doing this would not give an accurate representation of the 3070 Ti's performance.
This card will not be 2.5x faster than the 3070 ti. It is abysmal and embarrassing that they even claimed this in the slideshow.

The original 4070 is readily available for $500 and sometimes even less on flash sales. Remember when the 4070 launch was so bad that retailers gave $100 gift cards with the 4070 effectively making them $500? The 4070 Super is a big meh. 7800XT is $100 cheaper with more VRAM but with higher power consumption and performance is about 5-10% less which I call a tie. This is where you normally expect AMD products to be in relation with Nvidia. They are slightly worse but cheaper making them worthwhile.
If you wanted the 4070 you could have gotten the original version long ago for $500 which is better price/performance than the super at $600.

As far as markets go and pricing goes, let the public decide.

    - I don't like Ngreedia, binning support for their older cards, and yes all you 4000 cards with have the same fate as the 1-2 or 3000
    - AMD given free FPS to everyone FSR3, DLSS 3 was only for series 4000, sticking two fingers two 3000 & 2000 cards.
    - And soon driver for AMD Fluid Motion Frames boost FPS in ALL games.
    - And also you forgot about Team Blue, their ARC GPU are getting better support all the time.
    - Why does team green benchmark (Apples with Apples) comparing cards would be lot easier?
    - Team Red is in the Xbox and Sony, so my thinking software developers are more likely to optimise AMD hardware.

I can't imagine a gamer buying a new card with less than 16 g, amd already dealt with that on the rx 7600.
Similar for photo / video work, so coming out with a product with less memory is more or less an office computer.
For pro level work, people are going to buy the pro cards like a W series vs a consumer card.

The rest will become cheaper, the RTX 4070 Super will go higher at dealers, whatever. So one could say all GPUs will be great. Or terrible. Just a perspective and another reshuffle.

The thing is consoles don't have more memory either. And as long as consoles stick to some standard, games will do too - more or less. Sadly it has been this way for some 20 years by now. On a final note I don't think one should buy GPU "for a couple of years" these days. RTX 4070 Super is RTX 3090. Don't buy expensive "3090" if you can't afford.

@@vensroofcat6415 as for the console part i guess you need to take "console optimization" into account, because it's the reason why console can run the same game with lower specs, beside those "old news" are still valid when games are getting more and more demanding in the future, where now 1440p can use almost 12gb when you crank the settings, it's true that no one should buy a gpu for "couple of years" that's why people are complaining about it's 12gb, they want to keep the card for probably more than 5 years before having to make some compromises, but the card itself will probably only last few more years before you need to make some compromises, another things to consider is "12gb at $600" ,at that price point it doesn't matter anymore if "12gb is enough" 16gb should be the minimum, 40 series card has good raster but it just feels like nvidia doesn't want us to keep it for too long so they limit it from the vram.

And that in a scenario with high electricity prices and by gaming for like 8 hours, 5 Days a week for 4 or 5 years. I
Power consumption doesnt matter whatsoever. Do the math for yourself.
